Hi!
I'm using a CM9 based ROM on the Note, so I don't have the S-Pen utilities.
I've tried a lot of apps from the Market to replace it, but I can't find a simple app that can open a photo (an screenshot, for exmaple), draw over it and save as photo as well.
All programs i've tested offers an unlimited "desktop" over you can put objects like photos, cliparts, text, etc ... with layers and a lot of complex things.
I just want an app like the included with Samsung's ROM, to simply draw over a photo and save it as photo or share it. Nothing more.
Anybody knows a simple app like the S-Pen Memo ?
Thanks!
afair Free Note might have this feature.
btw what you mean s-pen does not work on CM9, works perfectly on mine (only thing I'm not sure about is button - don't use it)

Hi to all ,
i have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and a Galaxy Note 2 and when i had Galaxy Note1 i found very usefull to write a note with SPen and put it as a widget ("Buy beer" or "call mom" etc)
Now with Notes new generation i can't do it. Is it possible to have a SMemo .apk working with Note 10.1 or the chance to put a memo (handwritten) as a widget with Snote app?
I post a pic of old N7000 Smemo widget
You do know that you can create an SNote and set it as a shortcut on your home screen don't you?

Yes i know it, but i'd like to have the reminder directly on the scren, not a shorcut to it.

It depends! I'm not quite familiar with what the previous widget did but I have one that could be used to display a note, and double tap for a new small note that you then display in the widget might be an option. Else there is an app called whiteboard (and a pro version) to write right on the home screen and/or directly in a widget.
But LectureNotes is to me the by far best app for note taking and it has a widget to display and access a desired page. You get the page in desired size att the screen, and when taping the widget you get to the page and are able to edit it. This seems to me like the only note widget you'll ever need.

Any idea if there is a program that allows you to "float' more than 1 (handwriting capable) note on top of other programs?
S Note can only float a maximum of one note on screen at a time, and it's impossible to recall saved notes in floating form.
The only one I could find was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803284
Any ideas?

I'd suggest using (or trying) Snap Pad (free or ad-free).
It's not a floating note but rather a pad that comes out when you drag the snap region (that normally stays invisible).
So it can be opened and resized anytime (without having to launch it) and also while using other apps. It's also possible to adjust the pad's opacity and make it semi-transparent.
Pros
It's designed for the S-Pen (so supports pressure sensitivity and changing from pen to eraser with the button)
It's very simple
Cons
No Undo-Redo function
You have a single page to use

What do you mean?
I have downloaded it (I even have just decided to buy the ad-free version in GooglePlay) and it's fully working. I have a Gnote 10.1 (GT-N8000) - stock Rom.
Maybe there's some sort of conflict between the app installed and downloaded from SamsungApps and the new one offered by GooglePlay. In my case (to be sure) I uninstalled the previously app downloaded from SamsungApps before re-installing the one sold by GooglePlay.
One difference I see is that GooglePlay offers both versions (the "ad-free" and the paid one) whilst SamsungApps, at the moment, offers just the free version.
Re: Floating Notes ( > 1)
This is the adfree version and the free version says the same thing too. I'm running BaDaB!ing's rom with the N8013, 4.1.2 version.
Edit: I got it from the Samsung Apps store, and I have to say, this app is what I have been looking for lately. Thanks.

Re: Floating Notes ( > 1)
I downooaded the free version from google play this afternoon. I liked it a lot and got immediately the paid version. Both work like a charm on my 10.1.
It is a useful app that does not replace any other note taking tool. Probably not worth more than the dollar it costs, but still nice to have

I think the same
Its best side is its simplicity of use and its very "basic" functionality.
Anyway we could maybe ask the developer for something more (not much, just a little bit): something like undo/redo buttons, multiple pages, and (maybe) the possibility to manage more than one single note...

Yes... there's some lag for me too. Moreover if you use your finger to pull it out and it's not precisely placed on the pad's border it may happen than while pulling the pad out you leave some unwanted ink in the note
For me, it's one of the most important apps as I'm an avid notetaker (college). The best part is if a professor mentions something, I can just use the pad and write it down. The only thing I'm concerned about is how will it affect the battery life. Keeping the settings on "low" for 2 of the options (can't recall at the top of my head) makes it flow a little better.
The closest Floating note app, that I could find is cPaint (Cover Paint) (Floating Paint)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=coverpaint.ragingtools.com&hl=en
Pros:
4 notes
Transparency
Line thickness
Resize
Minimize
Color Selection
Cons:
No eraser (negates the usefulness of transparency feature)
No S-Pen pressure support

I never before had a gadget that I loved more the longer I owned it. The Note 10.1 will stay with me for a long, long time. Every day a new discovery. Thnx for this surprise of the day.
Now if only the resolution was better and had palm rejection.

I tried it on a note 10 and after starting the app, sometimes I activate it in the left bottom corner I cannot see what Iam doing unless I change anything (color, tool, delete), then what I wrote or painted show up. (Android Revolution HD ROM)
Also an adjustable size of the pen / brush would be cool. Oh, and to forward / share the taken image to any other app I want.
And last but not least some better high definition pics same size would be awesome.
edit. Yeah, palm rejection must-need and that the android back button is usable. Well, it lights up but the app does'nt react.
But so far, useful - because it's not a screenshot I annotate, it's an overlay to a running screen.
Hope the creator will read this.

Maybe because there aren't many spen tablets out there so far.
You can take a screenshot and annotate just by pressing and holding the S-Pen button & hold the S-Pen on the screen.
So unless you need the background to be active, You probably don't need this extra software

After you write on something just take a snapshot and share it. I do get the brush size request, but this is a nice start. No issues you are describing using stock JB. But I don't use it every day either to notice it.
The difference

You can leave a note on your home screen in your own writing. Good for video creation on YouTube while doing a live filmed demo in realtime, as a whiteboard or blackboard presentation.
Hi all,
I've currently using Papyrus for handwritten notes and Evernote for typed notes (I've got a Zagg Folio keyboard). I just wonder if there's any apps that would support both? Generally I'll use Evernote to type of the lecture notes, and when there are graphs, I'll open other apps to draw and store... That's just really inconvenient... Any suggestion?
Thanks!

Oh I'm not using S-Note because it won't syncto my desktop.... But you're right, it supports both drawing n keyboard
S Notes has had issues and compatibility with the previous release is one of those. Lecture Notes is stable and just works.

You can alternately use Notes Mobile or Mazec7 with Notes. There's also the Mystylus Beta. the Mazec and MyStylus add keyboards which support the use of handwriting recognition so you can use that with LectureNotes, or the regular keyboard or just draw all on the fly. Work great.
Lecture Notes handles both.
