[Q] Bootlaoder/Fastboot not working - HTC Sensation

Hi guys,
I'm trying to put back my Sensation to stock so I can send it to warranty but I'm struggling to do it.
Sometime ago when I started to experience some odd problems I managed to install back a stock version (3.33.401.6) but I still have S-OFF and super CID should be there also.... I can't be sure because I can't access fastboot (due to driver issues).
This was not the original rom because I couldn't find the Vodafone PT rom but at least I wanted to give the phone back with the S-ON and the correct CID.
I'm using Windows 8 so that probably is not helping but I've tried several drivers I found here in the forum, tricks to allow non certified drivers to be installed in windows 8 and nothing. Initially it says that driver is ok but then it shows up with the exclamation mark on the device manager.
The fastboot screen shows:
*** LOCKED ***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.000
RADIO-11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418

Does anyone know how to get rid of this fastboot issue so I can revert my phone back to S-ON and with the original CID
Thanks,
Diogo

Try installing HTC Sync (or HTC Sync Manager?). After installing windows 8, I was also searching for drivers and nothing work. HTC sync also didn't work but I think there is HTC Sync manager or something new software from htc which installed the right driver.
Or try ubuntu .

i'm personally not familiar with Windows 8, but if everything else fails and you have a spare usb stick/hard drive, you could boot Linux from it.

Thanks for the tip... I've tryed HTC sync drivers also but without success. The HTC Sync manager is for the newer phones and sensation was not in the list so didn't try it.
Probably I will need to try other OS... I just hope that the problem is really from windows 8 and not the phone.
Thanks.

HTC Sync manager is the one. (Even if sensation is not supported). Install software. Connect your phone. Install driver. I was on sense ROM when I installed this so that I can enable HTC Sync mode for USB. Worked for me on Windows 8 so try it. Good luck.
Also, you can install Ubuntu within Windows with Wubi. But not sure if that will work with Windows 8. But wubi is easiest way to run Ubuntu.

He is talking about booting from Linux live CD or USB into your PC or laptop. Its easier to enable adb in linux.

Trying to Root Desire S

Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to ask for help.
I am having an issue with the rooting of my Desire S.
I have downloaded Revolution, fre3vo, HTC drivers3.0.0.0.07
Followed a lot of instructions and have an issue with the HTC driver. I disable anti virus etc and run the driver to install, however it does not install. There is no status bar or a message saying it fully installed. I have run it as an Admin and same.
I am using Win 7 64 bit. Home Premium.
Try searching 'root desire s' on lifehacker site, used that as guide rooting my device, or check out my last posts on my profile, i have the links and the youtube link posted before.

Hey man,
If your device info looks like this :
Saga PVT Ship S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0002
RADIO-3822.10.08.04_M
...you won't be able to root it. The only thing you can do is unlock the bootloader. This operation requires the unlocker from HTC which is actually free.
Take a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1314349
DON"T FORGET THIS IS ONLY FOR 2.3.5 and HBoot-2.00.0002.
So we have to wait...(I hope you have lower hboot and this will not be applicable to you)
Cheers
Sorry forgot to mention it has HBoot 098.0002
make sure that Debugging Mode is enabled on your phone.
here is a great guide to S-OFF your DS

[Q] Rooting Shift with most current stock updates

I was foolish and allowed my shift to install all the most current updates available for the stock rom.
I am now stuck after attempting to regain root and s-off through -all- methods I can find.
I have no rom installed, RUU's do not work, I have clockwork 5.0.x.x something installed.
I try to install -any- rom and it says it installs correctly but upon reboot stays at the green HTC white background screen.
I just want to root and s-off this sucker again but NOTHING seems to work and now I think I've really done a number on it. I can't find anything that fixes it, and most of the guides I find to help refer to booting the phone up and doing something with the phone's terminal... which I can't do as there is no working OS on the phone...
Anyone know of any way to get this sucker rooted and s-off using ADB or whatnot through bootloader or fastboot?

Yup, been trying that... And I finally fixed my problem...
Something about if you have problems installing the RUU, run it twice... run it a second time...
It'll run the first time and hang, then I read that someone had luck just running it a second time. I ran it a second time and it worked somehow...
Thanks anyway!

[Q] HTC One S S4 Sense ROM for S-ON

Hi,
I have a HTC One S S4 and recently installed the Venom 3.2.1 Rom.
The description did not mention that after that I have to S-OFF the unit because if I do not then ill loose signal/drain battery fast and reboot frequently.
I know that S-OFF would be the solution, at least I reed that.
But when I did try S-OFF the unit but it always a fail with the FATAL: Download updated package at rumrunner
Any chance that the S-OFF source is down?
Yes I did my homework and followed all the instructions:
- All firewall/antivirus are off, even rebooted and checked the permanent off status.
- ADB can see my HTC, adb devices command was used
- Win 7 with the correct all in one S-OFF file from rumrunner. (there is no One S S4 file anyway)
- HTC drivers installed and working (in device manager it says My HTC) Maybe this should be HTC One S? how can I achieve that?
- HTC sync removed after install
- VM’s are unsupported, not using any
- A working internet connection, of course I have it
- USB debugging enabled on your device, done
- Fast boot disabled on your device, done
- Your device must be HTCDEV unlocked or rooted, done and confirmed ( Tempered unlocked status with S-ON)
Any suggestion is wellcome if there is a good fast clean HTC One S S4 sense rom which is working properly with S-ON
Or the way to S-OFF would be also a good help.
Try to uninstall your antivirus, I had to do so in order to get S-off!

I installed a brand new windows 7 without any update etc, HTC sync then and adb with fastboot moved to the computer.
Removed the Sync after I saw it can see my phone.
Still Nothing and windows update/firewall all off.
There are some pictures for more information about results and the phone.
I used this link for romrunner and tried the version here as well:

[Q] HTC Ville C2 adb problem

Hey XDA-People!
I'm having trouble with my HTC One S S3.
So here's what I already did :
I unlocked bootloader with htc-dev.
I flashed custom recovery (twrp).
I tried to install cm10 but here is where the problems started.
I didnt do the wipe before I flashed the rom because i had done multiple wipes before while trying to install other roms and thought it wouldn't matter (I was wrong).
When I tried to boot I got stuck in the cm animation.
So i tried to reinstall with a wipe but my internal sd card didn't mount anymore.
I looked up how to fix that and kinda did. I have access to my sd card in the recovery again.
But now theres another problem:
Since i dont have any working rom to boot into i tried to push a rom via adb but now my device doesnt show up anymore.
I followed this guide : how-to-solve-adb-device-not-found-error on dominantwire dot com (cant post link)
I have HTC Sync installed and adb worked before so i should have the drivers installed correctly right?!
In my Bootloader it says :

FASTBOOT USB
Can anybody help me to get my device to work again?
EDIT 1 : OK my adb is working again
but im getting permission denied if i try to push a file
also the command "su" is not being found
EDIT 2: I managed to get past the permission error and adb push seems to work
but the file i have pushed does not show up if I want to install in in recovery
Don't know if for Ville C2 is the same but for the S4 you should not have HTC Sync instaled, it messes up with ADB. You should have only the drivers not the application installed.
Sent from nowhere over the air...
ok i have uninstalled htc sync
are the drivers that come via windows update fine?

They should be fine for connecting as MTP device but for ADB you should either install generic ADB drivers (they're in Android SDK) or you can use the drivers installed by HTC Sync. The program also install drivers. There is also a thread that contain the drivers, look for a thread in dev section and it's title should say something like "latest ADB drivers" or something like that. I'm on mobile right now so I can't search easily
NOTE: The thread I was taking about is in the Ville S4 section, I am not 100% sure that it'll work for you (but it could). Otherwise look in the Ville C2 section for a similar thread

OK thx a lot everybody
I installed the correct drivers and got cm 10 to work.
But with one problem solved another one came up
Everything seems to work except i cant connect to a mobile network.
If I search for networks i just get an error.
I read something in other threads about "borked radios" or something like that, yet I have no idea how to fix it.
I'm seriously starting to get desperate about this whole thing.

HTC Desire HD & Incredible S won't connect to computer when in fastboot

Hi there all, I've got both an old HTC Desire HD and Incredible S which I thought I might try to root, install custom ROM etc to try make them a bit more useable and enjoyable as they are very slow and quite unusable. My mother was also using the DHD until it became too slow and laggy for her to use, also battery life deteriorated even after I bought a new battery. There are a couple of dilemmas I am facing however not being able to use fastboot is the biggest and most important one so far. If I can solve this then I may be able to solve the others myself so I thought I'd see if there was anyone who could help me. I've been on this for hours, days, I don't know what happened but I'll tell you my story.
First of all, my DHD has been rooted previously and I installed CM11 onto it, however that ROM keeps giving me processes that stop continuously after installing the associated Gapps file. The incredible S is NOT rooted yet, I haven't been able to unlock bootloader because that also won't connect via fastboot. I ALSO have an HTC M7 which I recently unlocked, rooted and installed Venom 9.0.0 ROM without any problems. I'm not sure what is wrong with these two. I know there are a lot of posts on this topic online but not one of them has helped me in the slightest.
I am not too sure exactly what details you might need, but I'll start with these:
- I am running Windows 10 on my desktop, with USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports available.
- I have a myriad of HTC cables and other micro USB cables as well to use.
- I have a couple of microSD Cards available.
- I have installed HTC Sync Manager for HTC drivers and uninstalled it as requested by many threads online.
- I've downloaded a lot of other drivers, ie HTC driver installer, universal drivers from Koush, and Google drivers.
- I have SDK tools from the AndroidSDKSlim.rar archive.
I've currently deleted and uninstalled everything because I want to start again hopefully with some assistance. I've downloaded Devmanview to delete and uninstall anything that said HTC, Phone or Android to start fresh.
My HTC Desire HD bootloader details are as follows:
*** UNLOCKED ***

I am aware there is an hboot update, I have the hboot update by behtash.bat file from the HBOOTUpdate_kit.rar archive but I also can't update that without fastboot)
Currently it has PD98IMG (Philz Touch 6.25.0 For HTC Desire HD) recovery, prior to that I had TWRP.
I was able to install that via my SD card
Now when I plug the phones into the computer while they're on, it picks them up on Device manager, and using ADB DEVICES turns up with their serial numbers. I can command them to ADB REBOOT BOOTLOADER to fastboot, I hear the windows sounds for connecting and disconnecting USB's then I get the windows does not recognize this device message. Please try plugging in again etc. When I look at my device manager it comes up in Other devices as Android 1.0 in device status it says:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
If I try to search automatically it fails. If I go to Update driver>Browse my computer>Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer it comes up in the box both Android Device and Android USB Devices. If I click the Android USB Devices there are no supported drivers. If i click Android Device it gives me 3 SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface versions :S:S
I should probably state that I'm trying to reflash a TWRP recovery for aceopt so I can install the CM12.1 or CM13 ROMs on my DHD.
My brain really hurts from all this... If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for me to try, please... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also If you need any more information let me know I'll be happy to provide. Thanks in advance!!
