I'm getting exactly the same problem, 3G doesn't works, the phone doesn't detect any APN.
Did you solved it?
Saludos.

shtrihcode- If you are on stock unrooted phone, make factory reset, if it's still like that, take it to the service center(presumably you have waaranty), it may have something wrong in the hardware. You can also try a thread below
ryohnosuke- check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055298 if not, reflash your current rom, ore choose some other.

Well, I fixed adding the APN of my carrier, only that. :silly:
Saludos.

Wi-Fi PROBLEM AFTER UPDATE TO 4.0.3

Hello to all!
Just want to create this thread hoping to help others
I am not a developer, but got my own unlock shop
My clients do bring many Sensation phones which have problem with Wi-Fi after update to 4.0.3
I did try all methods just to fix it:
1.JTAG soldering, repair boot, flash radio zone, changes hboot version. after flash with older software
2. Root the phone, install supersu, install Wi-Fi fix .apk
did solve many phones, but yesterday another client brought another phone with the same Wi-Fi problem.
I said to myself: easy tiger! perhaps there is another shortest way!
All I have done is: go into Bootloader Mode > Factory Reset & VIOLA!
After reset Wi-Fi works like a charm.
All I ask is, please. Who have sauch a problem, just do this step & confirm in this thread.
Kind Regards
Factory reset via bootloader mode works like a charm. Been having the same problem and doing factory reset under setting, but doesn't work. Thanks for the info man.
dint work for me. so rooted the device! works fine now!

hello,
can you please tell me what did you just did in details cause i tried every thing i ddi't slove the wifi issu and what hboot you use ? firmeware, kernel, rom ... can you tell all that
Thank you
This is the most common problem encounter during the OTA updates. I would suggest install the right RUU if you want stock ROM its better than the OTA updates.
I had issues with the OTA as well, my phone would say no Sim card but when i placed it in another phone it worked just fine. T mobile support told me that the update did something that wouldn't allow non 4g sims to communicate with the device, I originally had the MyTouch4g. So i went over to a T mobile Store to switch my sim with a 4g sim out but the problem still remained the same. Called support again and they warrantied out my phone and sent me a replacement within 2 days. Just sharing my experience with OTA issue.

3G and GPS doesn't work.

Hi!
I had repair microUSB on my Captivate and then got Encryption Unsuccessful.
After EU I made repartition on sd card and flashed to Android 2.3 , and got that 3G and GPS doesn't work.
after I flashes Paranoid ROM, 3G GPS the same.
EDGE and WIFI working well.
What I can do to restore 3G , GPS ?

You most likely don't have the right APNs. Go look under Settings -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names. And make sure they matches your carrier's APNs (which you can find with a quick google search).
Also consider looking at different modems. GPS is directly effected by the modem you are using and depending on your carrier that you're using the phone on it could potentially effect that too.
Regardless if you are using this phone on T-Mobile then you likely won't get 3G regardless of what you change on the phone unless you are lucky enough to be in an area where they have updated their service.
I'm using right APN.
Modem is "radio-cm7-ics-captivate-ugkg3-signed" 850 Mhz
I used it before and it worked well untill I have issue with EU.
Anybody can make a backup efs and send me, please?

Actually doesn't work that way. Your efs folder is specific to your phone as it contains your IMEI. If you get from IMEI error, going back to stock KK4 is the solution. Once in there, you use a file explorer with root rights (like ES File Explorer or Root Explorer) to copy it somewhere safe. Then you can flash Corn kernel and get back on the ROM you wanna use.

[Q] APN's not working. PLEASE HELP

Hey everyone, thank you for reading this post. I recently purchased an AT&T z998 and I have a problem with the data connection. My carrier is Airvoice Wireless (it runs on AT&T networks). I had to factory reset my phone with a small google play problem and after that, the data connection would not work anymore. Everytime I open the browser, it would just give me a host error. I followed the instructions at airvoice.com to add the apn again and it would still not work after that. I am rooted running cwm. I used framaroot with the gandalf exploit. There is an option in cwm that says format carrier. I didn't want to risk anything so I didn't try that. I tried flashing a rom that was a simple tweaked version of the stock rom and it would not work even after adding the apn on that rom. I am really stumped and not sure what to do. If anybody has any advice or fixes, I would be grateful. Thank you again.

Help Needed with Samsung G920P after root

Hi Guys, I know I am an idiot for not following all those guides properly and now I think I have bricked my device?
Well I am in Australia and I have this G920P model on android 5.1.1 (Unrooted). All was working fine, I bought it second hand from someone, I believe this is a U.S Sprint version, But I had my Telstra sim working in it with 4g data without issues.
So I decided to root it (without backing up- I know my mistake) and then flash XtreStoLite rom (again without doing any backup of original Rom). After that My device did not detect my sim card and there is nothing in the IMEI section of the phone.
I tried to flash official G920P rom via odin which installed successfully, and it shows signal on my phone, let me make calls but No Data. Seems like it is not registering my phone on the network properly.
So what have I done to my phone? Any chances to recover it somehow?

Have you the efs folder in your / partition? To check:
-Open any root explorer
-Go to / and check if efs folder exist
-If exists any file into it, tell me.

Thanks for a quick response, I Installed a root browser app and yes I can see EFS folder there and there are a bunch of folders and files in the EFS folder. e.g bluetooth, carrier, cpk, Factoryapp, imei, lost+found.... and so on
Appreciate your help in advance.
Have you checked your apn setting ? Make sure your carriers apn settings are restored.
Ok. I'll look into it. Thanks.

Ok, I have entered my network's pan settings manually and I get can get the data working but it only picks up 3g not 4g. I can make calls too.
But every time i restart the phone it keeps on checking the network status and picks up the signal after 3-4 minutes.
Also its stuck on the Hands Free activation screen and keeps on re-trying it.
Any help would be appreciated if I can get my device back to a normal one. Any other ROM's should i try?
One more question guys, Is there any non - sprint ROM for this device G920P? Because when I bought the device, I had no sprint stuff on it. No boot up splash screen or anything. I did not make note of which build version was it on but it definitely said G920P and it was on android 5.1.1.
Thanks
You may find and extra menu by typing ##scrtn#. I wouldnt reset to defaut as those general would be sprints settings. Try to find your carriers apn settings online. You should be able to cancel the hands free default activation. Are you still rooted?

Stock or custom? If i find it i'll give you a notice asap.
I am now on a stock rooted rom. Would prefer to have a rooted rom. I have tried installing renegade but it get stuck on finding network and stuck in a loop.
Imei number is now showing up. But i wonder what version this phone was on when it was unrooted ? As everything was working perfect and i had no traces of sprint either.

[HELP] Baseband doesn't work more

Hi mates, I got the phone from a discount shop, it was flashed with a LL 5.0 version.. after flashing some experiments with unsucessful baseband I 've found the solution. Pit the file and install the latest MM QD1 stock.. then I installed TWRP and flashed ResurrectionRemix 5.8.5 for G900P spr of 29/9/17..
the phone worked correctly since today, then it recognizes the simcard but no netwok signal. Three days ago I updated to the latest RR, which doesn't more report thwe spr version.. they ask use now KLTEDV, I suppose it created the problem.
I wiped all and flash again the stock rom, but no baseband, what can I do?

I had that issue after some months of getting my S5, my modem burned out and they had to replace the device. You may want to see if a repair shop can take a look at it.

thank you for report it! which Android version you had? Did you updated it to a custom rom? Are you sure it was an hardare fault?
I'm asking someone here if it is possibile to check the modem status with some diagnostic code, is it possible?
Thank you

I was rooted with either PAC or Cyanogenmod. It started out with a weird issue of my time being off because when I lost signal, the time zone would change. Then my signal strength would weaken or drop all together, normally a reboot would fix it. One day nothing I could do would bring back the signal so I called my provider, they did some troubleshooting (update profile, prl and went in and reset the phone number) send another S5 over to see if that fixed the issue, which it did. I put my old S5 back to stock and it reset knox and I returned the old phone. I think part of that issue may have been that my qi charger may have made the phone too hot and burned it out.
thank you a lot for report it. As soon I have time I'll have a try and report here if I can repair it..

Not sure if you ever got your S5 going. I just wanted to let you know that I went back to my S5 as my primary and now I am no longer getting LTE. I will try and troubleshoot the issue at some point, so far I found some posts saying to go back to stock, run all the network updates (PRL, activation, etc) then go back to custom if you have LTE on the stock. They also said to try a new SIM card. I also saw others who had to manually re-add the network settings.
thank you a lot for reply, actually I haven't yet time to work on it.. but I should do it soon somehow.
Anyway my phone is dead about network, no question of LTE. As I know this Spring phones doesn't work on LTE because in US they use other frequencies, and this phone is supposed to work there only

UPDATE: I found this on the main S5 site:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/solved-unknown-baseband-fixed-t3680402
It did not work for me, I think it is because I only have problems with LTE. I think it will work for your problem tho.
Good Luck!
Thank you a lot, I tired but for now doesn't help, I'll try more and waiting support, thank you!
