Cleanrom 4.5 Bluetooth voice doesn't work - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I am on cleanrom 4.5 with kinda crap 2.3 and I cannot get voice typing go work ,or voice search to work while using my lg hbs-700 Bluetooth headphones . I have searched and searches three forums and still cannot find anyone else having this problem. And no fixes. Can anyone help? Stock kernal and stock bootanimation

Nobody has any insight? Sweet not even a bad suggestion.. I guess that's what I get for posting in the proper forum. Nobody to flame so no interest.

Might be kernel related. Maybe try a different touch wiz kernel, such as lean kernel for tw.

If it is kernel related, the only kernel to try is Ktoonz. Imo has not updated his kernel because there is no source for the latest updates.
OP, does this issue solely affect CR 4.5? Do you notice the same issue with the JB leak and Beans JB 4.1 build from 11/15?

It did not happen on 4. O just on 4.5 it still ok heard on the kt kernal. I was going to do a fresh install. Now I'm just going to live with it till 5.0 is released.

This seems to be a bug in j1. It occurs on stock deodexed, synergy, and clean ROM 4.5. I am going to Odin back and see if it is because of the deodxed base or if it is the release itself.

Did you try stock JB leak #3, Beans JB build 4, or CleanRom 5? Each of those are based on the latest JB leak #3 VRBLK1.

ICS OTG Kernel?

Ive currently been running NexusMod ICS Zero Build 2 Rev.12 (Beta 12) for a few weeks now and im wondering if anyone knows of a ICS kernel that would allow OTG functionality? Most of the kernels in the dishevelment section are for GB, I know Romracer has one for his ICS build but im not sure how to extract the kernel from the zip.
Please any info would be great
Coming from the Captivate section where everything is just laid out has spoiled me I guess...
I think romracers ics kernel is in the same thread as his GB kernel, iirc.

until source is released for Skyrocket ICS, no. Nothing can be added really until then. That's why you haven't been seeing the threads, not really any to make. Mohan has been starting work on a custom kernel from the international version source, but it's very alpha at this point. Soon as we get official ICS, Sammy should follow soon with our source, then progress on stuff like this, BLN, OC/UV, etc will really start cranking out quickly.
Thank both of you for the replies. I think I found a work around by installing toggle15. OTG is finally working for me..either that or it was a crappy cable

[Q] Which kernel for JB?

What is a kernel compatible with Jelly Bean?
I have this Rom by steven676 XD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28562827&postcount=1
I also need a kernel for Jelly Bean, for steven676's port.
I'm pretty sure our kernel cooks like mathkid or Ezekeel will start working on the jb kernel when the OTA will pop out.
So, wait for the OTA.
Better to wait for the source for our kernel once the OTA rolls out. There might not be major changes, but better to be safe than sorry I always say.

I read that airkernel works with the ns4g jb rom so it might for you.

I would suggest you stick to the stock one unless you are losing your sleep over it, you may try Thalamus.
You'll find the details in last few pages of that thread.
Best,
AK
Nexus S 4G
Jellybean 4.1
Matr1x-cfs_v22.0 kernel
see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763781 for the rom I am using
as confirmed by others, still no working GPS, 4g, or wifi tether
Otherwise, everything is great, and stable. The only reason I upgraded from stock was for the -SU and wifi permissions in an aftermarket kernel.

CleanROM Question

I would like to flash to the CleanROM 2.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832070
But it says it's based on G7.
My current baseband for my GS3 is the VRALHE.
Can I still use it?
I know there is another CleanROM Ultra Lite, but I would like to aroma features.
Yes you can do that. No problem.
Your modem and RPM will still be HE, but kernel and system will be G7.

Which ROM would you pick?
Synergy, Clean, or Bean

I've only used CR of those three but am a happy camper and have no reason to switch.
Using CleanROM and I think this is better.
Less crap to deal with.
I like the clean-ness lol
I use cleanrom 2.1 soley for the kernel and love it. I will upgrade to 2.5 once the source code is released so cleankernel can be updated to work with it correctly.
Ive pretty much have tried every rom and kernel for this phone and always comeback to cleanrom if that helps you to choose. Its pretty much personal preference so try all of em. Just make sure if the rom comes with a kernel to flash back a stock kernel if the next rom isnt compatiable with it.

I throw a vote in for CleanROM as well, works flawlessly. I have had no reboots, problems, etc.
Also its easy to throw on add-ons. Superfast.

Yes. I'm using it with all HE based firmware/kernel/radio. Once you flash CleanROM 2.5 it will install the G7 kernel. I went ahead and flashed the HE kernel back afterwards, and it's been running great for me. Not everyone has the same results, so you may want to keep some nandroid backups of various combinations until you find one you are happy with.
I've tried most of the current ROMs out there, and of the 3, I like CleanRom. However, my fav right now is Liquidsmooth.

Will there ever be a Touch Wiz 5.0 rom?

I was just wondering will there every be a rom based solely on samsung's UI. Like for instance, a rom build on the sg3 build. I like the roms that are out but like all of the have some sort of cm9 (or 10) or AOKP intergration. I would like to see a rom with just samsung's UI (mainly TW 5.0) that is tweaked and just pure awesome.
Embryo is a TW-Only ROM.
If you mean a TouchWiz JellyBean ROM, probably not until we get an official JB release or a JB leak for our phone.

Ya, closest thing you'll get to JB TW is Sky JellyBean. Lot of TW elements with CM10 as the base.
I was just about to ask this. I know we have SkyJB With touchwiz added on top of JB
and Embryo. Both are great roms. But nothing like that stock 4.0 on the sgs3 I was playing around with that bad boy and "i was like if we could get this on our skyrockets there wouldn't be a need to get another phone"

[Q] Problems flashing latest lean kernel

Running a recent PACman ROM nightly (22.0.1) but the battery life is pretty bad. Absolutely love everything else so I was hoping a different kernel might help out a bit in the battery department. Tried flashing the latest Lean Kernel but when I tried to boot I got a pink "SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII" screen and it just hung there. I've got a backup so no worries on that front. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?
What is the file name of the Leankernel zip that you flashed? Sounds like you flashed the TW version.

I think that's it:
lk_s3vzw_tw_jb-v2.2.zip
Tried flashing Zeus kernel too but I had the same issue minus the pink. I feel like I'm missing something really obvious. I'm new to all this stuff. What does the tw designation mean, exactly?
Figured out the TW thing. I'm guessing if they aren't in the dev forms then there are no AOSP versions available then? Hope they pop up soon.
TW = Touchwiz, which is the software that Samsung had on the phone before you flashed this custom rom. You're looking for the AOSP version of Leankernel, well any kernel you intend to flash, for PacMan. Go to the Verizon GSIII section of Rootzwiki and click on the AOSP Leankernel thread. Download any of the 5.0 versions of AOSP Leankernel.
Oh, and Imoseyon is not making an xda thread. So that isn't happening lol

Awesome just got the latest LeanKernel build. already flashed Ktoonsez so i'll see how that works out for a few days then switch over and give Lean a try. Thanks for the info.
