[Q] Is it possible to both charge and use usb keyboard through OTG adapter?

I'm planning on buying OTG adapter to use usb keyboard/gamepad etc. But is it possible to both charge GTab 2 10.1 and use some usb device if said OTG adapter has multiple usb ports?
Anyone? Help, please :crying:
I know of no such device that will allow for charging and USB keyboard. You may be able to hook up multiple USB devices but no voltage will be passed back to the tablet.
My personal recommendation is to charge via USB and use a bluetooth keyboard. I also recommend patience with the forums.

This may be one of the needed pieces. I use it to connect a 1TB Seagate potable drive. I have seen some hubs but the reviews are not encouraging.

Have you considered Bluetooth. My MS keyboard and mouse connect fine as my Logitech tablet specific ones. I imagine there are BT game controllers too.

PS3 controller comes to mind. I have also used the WII controller to great effect.

Connecting wired Xbox360 controller with usb adapter (no dock)

Hello!
I don't have a dock and I was wondering if anyone has successfully connected a wired Xbox360 controller through the usb adapter (40 pin to female usb) to use with emulators. I've read that using a female to female usb adapter with the charging usb cable doesn't work (only works with low powered devices) but I'm wondering if it works with this other adapter. My concern is that the tablet won't be able to directly power the controller.

It will work fine, i was just trying to get a wireless xbox 360 controller working last night(From a dock). it connected fine, but was having issues with dead trigger so i gave up and brought an ps3 controller. Weigh up whether the ps3 controller is worth getting against the adaptor/ 360 controller, becouse the ps3 controller is ideal for the tablet (bluetooth connection)

I want to use it with emulators so I don't really mind if it doesn't work with some android games. I already have a wired Xbox controller and one of those adapters cost 20$/15€, so it's much cheaper than getting a PS3 controller.
But it's great to hear that it will work, thanks!

USB Wireless Keyboard/Mouse

Any reason why the shield won't recognize my usb wireless keyboard? I can connect a wired Xbox 360 Controller through my OTG adapter, but when I connect the usb adapter for the mouse/keyboard, it won't recognize that there is a keyboard & mouse connected. My nexus 7 recognizes both when I use it, and so does my galaxy note 3. I'd love to be able to use this as opposed to having to buy a new bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
I'm using a logitech k400 keyboard with the touchpad and a logitech wireless mouse, model mk215, and they're using a unifying receiver.
I went to Best Buy and picked up a Dynex 7 port USB hub that is powered externally, and so far, the powered hub is not making a difference. Still not registering that the wireless keyboard/mouse are connected. Confirmed that hub works when connected to pc as well as my nexus 7, but not on the shield.
This will be supported in the update Monday its in the notes on things updating
I just did the update and plugged in a mouse via OTG cable and it seems to be working fine. Makes stuff like Plants vs Zombies really playable having a mouse.

I'm using a K400 and it works just fine. Both the keyboard and mouse pad are working great. I plugged in the OTG connector with the dongle already plugged into it and it wasn't recognized. I had to first plug in the OTG cable and then plug the dongle into the OTG.
The logitech unify devices work great with the Nvidia Shield.
HOWEVER, you MUST install the latest Unify software on a PC, link all the Unify devices to the same Unify transceiver you are going to use in the Shield. After linking everything you want to use, then unplug the Unify dongle and plug it into the Shield.
Why can't these instructions be included somewhere in the Logitech manual that came with my keyboard. What a waste of my time.

I agree. What a waste of time replying to a post from over a year ago.

Ps3 Controller + Hdmi

Im wondering what do I need to connect ps3 (unofficial) controller that connects with usb wire and requires power supply from it, and mhl cable with adapter connected to hdmi tv. So, I can normally connect my phone to hdmi with mhl adapter and cable, but I'll need something like mhl splitter to connect both usb otg cable(for controller) and mhl hdmi cable to phone. Is there something like that, or is only option to connect bluetooth supported controller via bluetooth and hdmi to phone regularly? Because I would prefer more wired option without bluetooth...

How to connect PS4 controller to Android?

Hi,
So I have Galaxy J7 2017 with newest Android and I want to play some games which support game controller with my PS4 pad. I can connect the pad with my phone via bluetooth and both devices see each other, they are connected as it showed on most you tube video instructions. But my phone or games does not react when I'm pushing buttons, just nothing happens. There is no much solutions on the internet, so far I have found only one info that 1st version of PS4 with controllers v1 have some blockade. So my question is what can I do to bypass it? Is there any software?
Also I have read tips to buy OTG cable but this is USB<->miniUSB cable, so how it can work since my phone and pad have both miniUSB only? Does OTG cable have some microchip inside? Or can I just buy miniUSB<->miniUSB cable and it should work?

You can probably get a USBMicro USB adapter cheaper than you can get a cable, the adapter will allow you to use the cord that goes with the controller by connecting it to the end of the cable then connecting to your device.
It's what I use for USB and OTG devices instead of an OTG cable.
