Has I don't make roms I wouldn't know lol just thought it be something new to try instead of sence roms and nova and apex based roms... Just a thought

Windows Phone is a different OS architecture, The HTC devices shipping with Windows generally require some effort to port Android to as the Android bootloaders and such must be modified for slightly different hardware. Note when you say "Nova" and "Apex" based I think you're confusing ROMs and launchers. Nova and Apex are launchers that run your homescreen on TOP of the operating system. You can run Nova or Apex on a Sense (HTC Stock) ROM as well as other (Cyanogen, AOKP, BlackBean, ViperOne, TrickDroid) ROMs. the ROM is the ENTIRE operating system and some of the mentioned ones come with Apex/Nova I think.

Yeah cm10 and others are like the nova launcher but built into it, sence roms are the same like viperone and trick is just stock rom tweaked up a bit. All am saying is if it could of been done that's all. Most roms are just copies of other roms and get boring really

There is actually a launcher for Android called Launcher 7, which looks and feels very much like WP7. It's actually not half bad.

Ah yes, this is why the HD2 is such an amazing phone. Runs Windows Mobile, Windows 7, Android, Meego, Ubuntu, and probably soon WP8. Never letting go of that baby.

[Q] G2x + Sense 3.0 features ... is that even possible ?

Its great to dream, but in this case you should stop dreaming. The G2x and sense roms has 2 different framework so it will never work and even if it could it would take tons of modding that wouldn't be worth the trouble. Its similar to trying to put a Ferrari body on a Mercedes chassis.

There's a app called "Go To Lockscreen" and it pretty much gives you the features of the Sense lock screen. Its a good app.

im not sure if you wanted sense for the same reason i did. i wanted sense for the dialer + messaging client. althought we probably wont get the sense dialer, there is an app called GO Dialer, and GO Sms that is similar to the sense applications. Stock android dialer SUCKS! anyways hope this helps

The lock screen, dialer, messaging client and contacts client are the only good things about Sense. The vanilla clients are boring with less features. What's cool about the Sense contacts client is that contact pictures are just there with no loading. The vanilla contact client lags a little bit and there is a delay in showing the pictures.

Sense has some neat stuff but most of it is cosmetic.
Launcher Pro already has some Sense-like widgets built in and are themeable. They look like Sense out of the box. You can also customize Launcher Pro's dock bar to match any version of Sense.
Go Dialer and Go SMS are popular because you can theme them to look like whatever you want. I've also used "Dialer One" which was a "HTC SENSE Dialer" Clone at one time. I think they've went down their own path since but still has the same great functionality.
Moral of the story, you can make you phone look and feel like a Stock-Sense rom without having the stock-sense rom.
And I think they're porting Sense over in the O2x forums (directed at the second poster). MIUI, Sense, and CM7 are the 3 roms that should be ported to every phone. Completely do-able though. Nexus One has all 3.... but maybe I was spoiled.
It was possible on my hd2 windows phone. So I would say yes, it is possible. That phone had a much bigger following so I will not say it is propable.

as things have been said, launcherpro, GoTo LockScreen, things like that can give the customized feeling of not being on stock android...
I think the problem is we are on a LG phone trying to port a HTC client, Samsung Galaxy series never got it to work fully, just my opinion. I am not saying it is not possible, I am one that loves options and would like to see it happen though.

You can find software that looks like Sense such as Go Messenger but there is no contacts client out there with the deep integration/features you get with Sense. The Contacts Client is the only thing I like about HTC and I have yet to see one done better. Just ain't going to happen.

Is There a Stable Sense Based ROM?

So I'm doing some research on my next phone (currently rocking a Droid Incredible 1) and it will either be the HTC Vigor or the Nexus Prime. I'm leaning towards the Nexus Prime, but I love Sense, so I just want to make sure that there are people out there who create Sense based ROMs for the Nexus devices.
So are there any stable Sense based ROMs for the Nexus S?
No sense no thanks. You buy a nexus for the AOSP experience. If you want sense buy a htc phone.

Sense based rom ran into some hurdles, plus it's harder cuz unlike the nexus 1 it doesn't share the same hardware as an HTC phone...
For the Prime, we'd have to wait for a similar phone running ics, gingerbread might not run too well on it...

Ahh this makes the decision so much more difficult. I was pretty much set on getting the Prime because I figured it'd be an easy swap to put a custom sense ROM on it.
I really want to have the latest and greatest (ICS), but I also love my sense features (lockscreen, beautiful widgets, beautiful animations, etc)
what to do, what to do....
Yeah Rem3Dy said it all, but to throw my 2 cents in.
If you want a phone running Sense you should stick to HTC phones that come pre loaded with it. Ports can be cool, but it's hard to rely on them everyday as a daily driver they all tend to have their issues. From what I was hearing before leaving the EVO 4G forums, HTC should be developing a web app for consumers to unlock boot loaders in the future, so you shouldn't have to wait for exploits to enjoy root privileges on future phones.
Now if you want a pure Google Experience device then you should look into the Nexus line of phones. This is the way Google envisions Android and in my opinion, it's the best way to enjoy it. The Nexus line always has the latest and greatest with software updates direct from Google. This means when new versions are released we don't have to wait for manufacturers to upgrade their UI to to work with the current version of Android, no wondering when or if our device will ever even get the upgrade.
So if Sense is a deal breaker for you, you should probably stick with HTC. If you're intrigues by the Nexus Prime, wait till it hits stores and go check one out, I doubt you'll be let down.

When ics comes out you are going to lose alot of sense features. Look at honeycomb for example

Sense sucks balls, big time. It was the reason I rooted and flashed aosp on my Evo. Most htc owners try to get away from sense, and you want to install it on a Nexus??
However we like SEnse or not (I don't personaly, and sure thing is if you have a Nexus "something" is for experiencing the pure Android), it has been said several times by several great devs that it won't be possible to port any Sense like launcher on the NS.....
You can always install Launcher Pro Plus which has very similar widgets to HTC Sense. ADW is another popular launcher as well.
It's not just the widgets, but the sense 3.0 lock screen is one of my favorites!

There's a lock screen app called Agile Lock, which looks exactly like the HTC lock screen with the exact same functions as well.

[Q] Different UI for Nexus S ?

Hey Guyz
i would like to ask if there are other UI's for the Nexus S just like MIUI interface
Because the stock is pretty boring !
There are a lot of roms for NS, starting for CM7 based roms, MIUI, CM9 alpha, and well take a look on the developing section and test the one you want..
Wait a few weeks they're almost done with HTC Sense.
Yeah, and MIUI V4.

You're saying "UI"... do you mean "Launcher"? Because you don't need a custom rom to change the way the phone looks. There are lots of them on the market, just to name a few I've tested:
-ADWLauncher EX: smoother than regular ADWLauncher, highly customizable, worth the purchase (for me at least, runs great)
-LauncherPro: also very smooth, pretty customizable
-Go Launcher EX: can't say I loved it too much, but also nice looking.
Take your pick. Hope this is what you were searching for, a replacement LAUNCHER, not a replacement ROM.
I don't mean the launchers.
I mean different transitions, icons, statusbar, notification and etc like the full framework has been changed as you see in MIUI Rom
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
The MIUI ROM is still based off of Gingerbread and hides it really well. Though most of it is recognizable once you see past the themes and skins.
If you want a list of different ROMs, some of which sport their own framework visit the Nexus S ROM thread
here.
Also as flodb113 pointed out, essentially you are looking for a different launcher. ADWLauncher is a good place to start off if you're not looking to flash a new ROM.
The ADWLauncher contains themes which can change the whole appearance of the UI including: transitions, icons, statusbar, notifications and etc.
But isnt a UI called RoUI available?

If you are referring to this then it only allows you to customize the lockscreen. Which is similar to changing a launcher; no flashing required.

Miui is available for the NS and NS4G, just flash it.
Not sure why you chose the Nexus if you're looking for a flashy interface... The nexus was designed as a vehicle for the bare bones, no frills aosp android experience.

[Q] HTC launcher on Samsung device

Does anyone know if it is possible to have an HTC launcher on a Samsung device?
Google gives me nothing and I really miss the Sense 3.0 launcher.
I already have those far from perfect skins and themes, but I want the real thing.
I want the carousel effect, the 3D effect, and the floaty lockscreen widgets.
I imagine that it can't really be all that hard, can it.
Can't it just be installed like all the custom launchers?
Or it could be extracted from a HTC ROM and placed in a Galaxy rom instead the Touchwiz launcher.
Anyway, I hope someone can inform me about all this.
I would like to know about this as well.

1. The launcher relies on the HTC Sense framework which refers me to point #2:
2. The HTC Sense framework is proprietary and closed-source .
So it is not possiele to just grab a random HTC sense 3.0/3.5 custom Rom and make it compatible with different hardware?
And if so, how are those custom Roms made in the first place?
If i find the time, i'm gonna experiment with this.

It's not possible even with same hardware , you may even get sued by HTC
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Before this phone I had a HTC hd2 and it ran Sense 3.0, doesn't that prove enough?
I don't think we're on the same page.

Wasn't HD2 capable to run both android and wm?
There's a video on YT that presents Incredible S - stock running on Galaxy S.
Oh well , you can do that.....but you cannot make it public.....might get a C&D letter from HTC
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Thanks, i'll keep it to myself then.
I'll post the portable results here.

[Q] I want a Iphone rom for my HTC Pico

It base on 4.0+ android OS, icon, stt bar,etc,...like iphone. someone can do it?
Porting an iPhone ROM isn't something that can be done. The closest you'd be able to get is theming your phone using a launcher. I suggest having a look around Google to see what's launchers you'd be able to use to get the desired effect
