ram hack

i just found this thread on galaxy 3 phone

is it possible to use ram hack ... in performance
he write that we can exceed ram usage to the limits ?? is it right or what

I think only roms that have reserved memory can use that (Like the Galaxy S, it has 512MB and 300~ Usable.)
We use our whole 487MB i think..

Yes. We can swap our memory as ram. But we need a custom kernel. Swapit expander can swap. Our kernel locked by Samsung.

No, we cant..

its impossible because RAM is a hardware so the only way to tweak is to change it which is not possible so its a big NO
and a humble request to all pzz do not creat unnessary threads that to in theme and app section plzzzzz

WELL YOU CAN FACTUALLY DO THAT USING PARTITION SD CARD IN RECOVERY MODE.. however it will be slower than original ram ...

Let's try to be helpful....the simple answer is no, your device is not like your computer and you can not easily swap out a a small capacity memory chip for a bigger one.

Problem with ram expander on my lg e400 l3

Hi friends.
As u all know lg e400 l3 has only 351 MB of ram so i'm unable to play many games without any problem.
I searched evrywhere on net and got to know about ram expander which i thought can help me with my problem.
But after swapping 256 mb of space from my sdcard with swappines 45, few of programs started freezing.
So should i remove this app or try with different values. Is there any particular kernel i need.
Pls help me with this.

ya bro 1st kernel support is most imp thing..... i have also having problem as ur case... because of kernel... i getting problem... try reinstall it if ur mobile kernel support it.. it will b work

ya i may be able to help you in this matter. First tell me which ram expander do you use. i would suggest you to use roehsoft ram expander.

N yes. I want to set cm updater on manual update mode.
But unable to find a way to do this because there is no shortcut to access cm updater in my menu.
Do you have any clue how to do this.

cm updater? clockword mod or cynogen mod? um have you swapped the memory cards? if yes then tell me how much free memory do you have. then i may be able to help you

Finally i have found the solution.
No need to install so much apps.
My phone is working smoothier than ever.
But still if you can teach me something then i will be more happier.

Usually i have 88 mb of ram free all times. But still gaming sucks.
So i was using ram expander with 128 mb swap ram size.
Swappiness 50.
And all the times i was stuck with laggy phone and few crashes.
So if you can tell me how to use ram expander efficiently.
I have sd card which gives 3 mb/s copying speed.

No you can't increase your ram by any app_its quite risky too
You can though increase your internal memory by link2sd or gl to sd

Convert memory to ram, no you cant but you can use an app called Ram Expander, what it does is create a swap file on your SD card and uses it as virtual memory, it will make you cell a little faster, hope that helps, thank me if my info was useful.

Well guys i already use link2sd but when i enable swap it doesn't increase any ram. That i meant when i said converting. I manage to free internal by odexing rom. But for ram i don't think i work it out. How swap file works ? Can anyone explain me any process ?

U can incrase ur RAM with Ramexpander, but this app needs rooted device... U can use ur sd card as ur ram with this app

First of all. Ram expander is not free. I can create swap file easily through my cwm recovery (6.x.x.x) version. But i can't moderate it to work as a virtual memory (RAM). Suggest me anything. I wll make my researche then. I wll try swapper and let you know .... Thank you guys.

Swapper no works to me. Just creating swap file. It doesn't merge ram. Like odex free space. It's not the same but you know what I mean.

Ur swap ram will not be displayed with ur system Ram... Use ROESOFT ram expander, u can see that what is happening with ur Swap ram
