Hey guys, so I was running MIUI for about 3 days when all of a sudden after class one day my phone literally wouldnt receive or send texts or calls and when I tried to call something it said no data available...I tried everything, I've wiped data/cache/dalvic, restored a backup, flashed a stock radio, a rooted radio, and even used odin to flash back to stock. My flash counter was never incremented, my bootloader is relocked, I even installed the latest Verizon update to ensure I wasn't rooted anymore. I don't know what to do, can somebody maybe help me? I'm lost and I don't wanna go back to my old phone, any help at all would be more than appreciated...
You have lost your IMEI, fried your SIM, or just need to reprovision your SIM. I would try the reprovision first, but it will wipe all of your data. You can do a search and it will give you the dialer code.
That sucks man. I cant help you with your radio problem but if you unrooted and updated through verizon successfully cant you just take it back. It should still be covered under warrenty. i hope you get it figured out, Good Luck.

I found the code that's supposed to work but when I try to call it it says no data available, do you know what to do then? am I doing something wrong?

Also I have checked my phone info and my phone number is still there as well as my IMEI, I don't know what happened. If my bootloader is locked, flash counter is decremented and I'm back on stock can take it to Verizon safely? also how do I tell if my bootloader is locked and flash counter is decremented when im not rooted? just to be sure

First off Im new here. Well I haven't posted on xda before, but I've spent enough time reading.... anyway, have an vzsgs3 cwmr bootldr unlocked flashed taste of beans... then wiped flashed slimrom and then nandroid'D stock over that.got the wonderful nonvzw triangle of death.... after that I flashed stock root66 via Odin. Lost my imei in that whole process. Didn't have it backed up either.went through pretty much every post that related to the sgs 3 and imei.Now I have a 4g ONLY device.I also found out that you cannot make or receive calls on 4g and the tower negotiation/propagation takes place over the cdma network. If I restart my phone every time I move to a different tower I can use it on 4g to surf the web. No call or texts ever. If I leave the range of a tower, I get a /0 slash zero for reception. Reboot and 4g is back.This is strictly 4g ONLY.it will not and cannot connect to the mobile network .try to dial out, error: mobile network not available. Factory reset several times. Phone is back to oob stock. I would be tempted to say there is something mucked up in the nv rf items. By flashing and resetting, it would set everything back to stock except the radio FW. Switched Sims with a working one... same. Imei is fixed, about status shows it correct as well as the correct phone number and everything else. Where should I go from here.? Let me know what info u need and ill post it.thx!

No one is gonna reply because you suck at writing stuff out and cant understand what you are saying.
As for your phone, the imei has been restored but the phone is still borked? Did you odin back to stock after all those issues? That would have reflashed your modem. Did you check the md5 on the crap you flashed too?

I would odin back to stock if that doesn't work. Try to instal one of these basebands from the link. I'm pretty sure flashing stock with odin does thatthough. I'm a noob but that is my best guess. Good luck.
There is a tool on here that you can fix your IMEI with, if you haven't already. I would try to reprovision the SIM if you have done everything else.

Please, I desperately need some help. I flashed the dreaded MiUI ROM to my Samsung Galaxy S3 (Verizon), and upon reboot, noticed immediately that my IMEI was gone. This is my fault because I had no backup. So I proceeded to take the IMEI off the phone itself (under the battery compartment) and flashed it back on the phone via that one tool (if you need to know specifically what tool I'm talking about, I will look it up). Now, my IMEI shows restored, the phone CLAIMS to be activated and I have function 4G LTE data access, however, when I place a phone call, I get the message 'Mobile Network Not Available'. I cannot get it to place phone calls. In my About screen, the following information is present:

The code doesn't do anything on my device. Developer mode is turned on. *2767*3855# is the code I'm finding.
I believe reprovisioning this phone is going to resolve my issues, however, I cannot get the reprovision code to work in the dialer. I have read that may be because of a recent OTA update, so I am flashing back to an older stock ROM and trying again. Please jump in and help if I am going about things the wrong way or with words of encouragement if I'm on the right track.
I was gonna say go back to a stock ROM and try it. If you make a nandroid before reverting you should be able to restore it after fixing your issue and have working miui.

Correct. It was removed because it was a pretty bad security hole. Odin back to an older stock, repovisioning should work.

Go into APN and select the first option (CBS) I believe, make sure it uim not nv and check that you are on LTE/CDMA/evdo. Once everything is selected properly reboot and try calling or texting.
PS. Also when rebooting, fully power off and remove and reinsert sim and power on.

Hey I'm having the same exact problem as you. Could you explain to me what you did exactly and which files you did? Which older ROM file did you use and what does it mean to reprovision a phone? This phone has been killing me for the whole week

I got the s iii sunday. flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974114 to get unlocked bootloader, root, and twrp. no problem. stock with root. I tried CM10.1. things got interesting. I lost my data. roaming.
things I did to try to fix it.
factory reset

You just take a breath. OK? I was there with old miui. I had the roaming triangle. I've been doing this for a few years or so and never had this happen. I got new sim ...boom problem solved. Yes I did EVERYTHING..lol
Edit. First Odin back to stock. But that didn't work for me either but worth a shot. You tried a factory data reset from stock backup too? If that doesn't work. Its your sim card is fried. When you call out do you get the credit card option to make call? If so just get new sim. Then stick it in and it will re sign

First off wrong forum this is for development not data issues.
If you read the CM 10.1 thread things that worked was flashing an unofficial CM10.1 build which you can find on rootzwiki or try using odin to revert back to stock touchwiz.
Also try going through the setup wizard on stock touchwiz rom after you go through it the first time.

I had a time where i thought i lost my IMEI but i ran the setup wizard a second time and it activated.

First, check if your imei is intact. If so just odin back to ics stock, and to reprovision code, notw that it will delete your internal sdcard and I think extcard also. The code is *2767*3855#

Thanks all that provided input. i went to an ics build, flashed bootloader and the stock image, reprogrammed the imei, and did a factory format. Turned on and had data.
I am on HyperDrive RLS15- Stock Kernel and updated to the Cobalt Theme and when it installed i can not call out, receive calls, Text out or receive Text's either and i have no idea what i did wrong. Mobile Data isn't working only thing that is working is Wifi.
Can anybody please help me out. My wife and i are freaking out.:crying::crying:

I would reflash the Hyperdrive ROM with no theme. I've had that happen a few times when applying a theme to my ROM. if you flash the Hyperdrive ROM and it still doesn't work I'd flash a different ROM.
After flashing, (of course after full wipe) test calls and messages and contacts apps. Then if you flash a mod or theme after that. Try your phone,text and contacts again. If they do not work, then your theme has borked them.
I have tried re flashing the ROM and still nothing i wiped everything that needed to be wiped before flashing and still nothing. I didn't think a theme would make this happen. But I guess another ROM wouldn't hurt to see if it works then. Will post back after and I might need some help though if it does not work

Go to System Settings > About Phone > Status. Under IMEI there should be a 15 digit number. If it's missing or just says 0 then you lost your IMEI, which is basically your phone's network ID number. Also is your phone number correct as listed in that menu?

Assuming you didn't make a back up, you're going to have to restore it. Here's the link to a tutorial: http://droidmodderx.com/galaxys3/?page_id=79
It is pretty involved so make sure you read the instructions carefully. Are you familiar with ODIN, because the first thing you have to do is flash back to a stock rooted ROM. Use this thread for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762204
If you don't feel comfortable doing all of it I would get somebody that does. You can easily hard brick your phone using ODIN. Also, ODIN will completely erase your internal memory. So I would make a backup of any photos/files you need before proceeding.

Yeah i have a friend that helped me use Odin but hes not on Skype and he won't be anytime soon i believe, i don't trust myself doing it alone.
The first thing I would try would be to flash the mbf1 radio.
I have had similar issues and that's the easy fix.

I haven't heard of this fixing the missing IMEI issue but if it does that's excellent! It would be so much easier. Give it a try, it couldn't hurt.

He is right, getting your imei back is only halfway home. Your ERI should say 5 and under mobile network is should say Verzion Wireless. Some people have said using Odin to go back to stock and reprovisioning your phone with a numerical keypad entry works but I can't comment because I recovered mine without doing that. I had to use a special diagnostic tool to fix my ERI when I lost it. Its called an Odin to stock and a trip down to the local vzw store lol

I went straight back to Stock unrooted to see if it worked and it still never worked and i called verizon cuz i think it's the Sim Card.

Yeah if i can't get to work soon then i need to go to the vzw store and see if they can help me with my issue so i don't have to pay for a new S3 full price

I do recommend once you get your phone straightened out go to the Synergy rom thread and find the zip to backup your imei and eri and put it away for safe keeping just in case.

I tried changing roms and flashing kernel but nothing seems to work. called att and after some adjustment they made to my account it still didnt work. went to att store to change my sim card (they said at support that it might be a sim card issue) and still I get nothing I know that I wont get LTE but having no data at all just sux. Ive been reading about it for past few days and I see that it works great for tmobile users.

Hi my friend have the same problem, can make phone call and send SMS but no data at all. Have you maybe found some solution to this? I also wanted to try to flash other roms, but now that i have read your comment i gave up. Have you tried with cyanogenmod?
What fixes on VZW is RUU back to 5.01. Some say further but it must be Stock. Let it boot. Before doing anything else, boot into STOCK Recovery and Factory Reset. You really need to read hear as the process is covered in detail over, and over, and over, and over..........

Ok, so I am having a similar issue and I've tried this with no luck. I've used all RUU except for 6.0, booted immediately back into recovery (stock b/c RUU, correct me if I'm wrong), and performed a factory reset. Any other ideas? I really love this phone, but I'm starting to lose patience.

Active Verizon sim card inserted? Do you have another sim to try? If no data at all after factory reset your modem might be toast.

It took some effort to get another sim, but that did the trick. Essentially the folks at VZW gave me a thoroughly busted SIM. All is well now.
