Am about to take the plunge and join the Galaxy Note 10.1 family.
I have a choice of buying this in the UK or the US.
However I will only be able to connect the device to the internet to receive updates in the UK or in Sri Lanka (!).
If I buy a US model will I be able to connect to the internet and receive official Samsung updates in the UK or another country?
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this matter for me.
(The US model I'm thinking of is from Negri Electronics: black 3g model with SKU SMGGALNOT16UB)
I think the way updates work are every model number has a country code built in and when checking for update the same information is sent and hence it connects to the server of that particular country so irrespect of with country you are in you will only receive update for country of orgin
Thanks Samir,
Guess I could get either one then. Any idea if the UK or US market is likely to get updates sooner?
Also, does anyone know if the black 3G unit is officially available in the US? I'm wondering if Negri is selling some international unit.
Plus, OT, but any idea if a 32GB 3G model is available anywhere?
I think US is the last one to get updates but its not that far away from others, No officially 3G version is not available in US sorry I am not from US but my opinion is based on user feedback given in this forum.
As far as 32GB version I have no clue to be frank
JB hifi in Australia sells the 3g 32gb model though I don't know if they post overseas... It's about $800AUD, not sure about postage...

I'm looking at purchasing a 3G Note 10.1 and see on the Samsung web site that the UK model number is GT-N8000EAABTU. I've seen the following model being sold GT-N8000ZWABTU on Amazon UK. What's the difference with EEA vs ZWA? Is the one from Amazon not a true UK spec device?
Also, given the choice would you go for the German version or UK version? I'm thinking from an update point of view the German version seems to get updates earlier but is that a real advantage? I'm not in the UK so purchasing from either Amazon UK or DE makes no difference to me and price is pretty similar.

I think the only difference will be the version or the ROM, try Googling the two see what comes up. As for UK or German, yes it would appear that the DBT models get updates soonest but this could easily change so I wouldn't worry.
for those very interested in the pink one (and who knows to match it with the rose gold gear), they will be available soon yey

This story for the US is bull **** and I wish news outlets would stop reporting it. That particular seller had a pre order availability date of 10/27 and on 10/27 changed it to 11/11. This phone won't work on LTE either so it's not really a US availability. I don't know why Samsung is circlejerking it's customers like this... they need to have carrier availability.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
hi sorry if im asking this im kinda clueless but if the other notes can work in the US or LTE shouldnt the pink one too or do you mean it simply wont work with LTE
The one on Newegg is the 3G only phone. No LTE support. The UK version is the international N9005, works only on international LTE bands.
As before, now the availability date on Newegg is 11/25. Ha!
I want to buy the OPO but my throwback is the country I live in, Bangladesh. As you know, 16 countries are officially available to the supply of OPO and Bangladesh is not listed on it. Surprisingly one of the dealers in Bangladesh is selling OPO at a rate of $488.75 (US Dollar) for the Chinese Version.
So my query is that is there any difference between the Chinese version and the international version or are they both identical. And why is the Chinese version so widely available where as the International version is as bad as extinct?
Anyone Help? Thanks in advance xD

Thanks. Could you tell me if I'm going to be able to use LTE and 3g in USA or in countries in Europe? I'm a student and I'm going to change countries for better education in a year. So I need to know if LTE and 3G will work properly on major carriers in USA or in countries in Europe. Thanks for your help earlier though, really appreciate the time you taken to do the researches for my help. Thanks.
Hi All
I am in the UK and am about to buy the S3 Frontier... but my question is this - there seems to be at least 3 variants that I can find mentioned on the web - UK / US / International. In the UK the price on the UK device is about $400 and the US version is $299. I can get the UK model from a high street shop or online... but I also see much cheaper version on eBay... as low as $250. I checked the part number of one of the eBay ones and it is SM-R760NDAAXAR. What I cant seem to find is a detailed comparison of the UK, US and International Version.
The information I can find is conflicting and some say that the US version is LTE - which I understand means that it has a hard wired SIM card inside so it can connect to the cellular network directly with no phone. I think the UK one doesn't have this feature... which TBH I am not worried about.
I have also read that if I buy the US version I wont be able to get Android Pay working, etc. I have also read that if I get the International version it will update to UK via software update when it syncs with my S7.
Can anyone tell me if there is any issues with buying an out-of-region device as its tempting because they are about half the price than on the high street here in the UK.
Thanks in advance
Slimat
You should be able to flash SM-R760NDAAXAR with UK firmware but I'm not sure if Samsung Pay will be active.
Hey guys !
I was considering to order the phone directly from Europe or China but the bands are not compatible for the 4G
It looks like to have correct 4G in Canada, we also need the US version of the phone ... only sold for now on the Honor store, that only delivers in the US...
I dunno if Amazon.com will sell it at some point, so I was looking for another solution.
Do you know another store that sell US version of the view 10?
Thanks
