Best car/desk dock that uses the pogo pins? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Im sure it's been asked a million times, and i do appologize for asking again,
but any dock that i've come across uses the normal usb charging method. I want a nice pogo pin charging dock, for car or desk
Any suggestions? what do you use?

Att was selling a 50 dollar official one with speakers. Not sure of any other options...

I saw these:

http://www.arkon.com/htc One X/mobile-grip-htc-one-x-car-mount.html
Both look awesome, but ill keep looking.
And now that i think of it, how the hell do i get car home? its not in the play store. I got the 4.2 gapps installed if it matters...

for me, both docks after shipping ended up costing $40, so i went with the iBolt

Are you sure it is compatible with the one XL (lte)? Most accessories are made for the quad core international one x.

yea its just a mount. nothing really fancy with it

Good deal, I assumed it had pin charging.

I bought this one from ibolt
http://www.ibolt.co/ibu-33405
It is the universal pro dock +. I was going to get the HOX specific one but there is a limit on the size of the case you can use. I have been very happy with this and generally use it vent mounted but the suction cup mount is really good as well. It has a HTC specific wire that allows the Car screen to auto launch and a standard wire. I didn't think of it at the time but the best feature is that chances are that this dock will outlive the One X so I won't be stuck with a phone specific car dock. This is really well made and I like how you can adjust the position of the device without loosening the mount like I have had to do with cheaper car mounts.

Pogo Pin desk dock for one xl
Has anyone been able to track down a pogo pin desk dock that is compatible with the one xl? Everything I have read says the crs650 is only for the one x as the pogo pins are in a different spot.

Damn iBolt
The actual microusb part of the dock has broken off
ill need to superglue it back on or something, but the whole piece is totally detatched

Car Dock (ProClip)

Hi,
Does any1 know if there are some alternatives to a car dock, similar to ProClip?
I just emailed proclip to inquire about using the dock from nexus one and they say it won't fit.
Thx.

Ive got a Brodit clip/holder from my old iPhone and although it is a bit lose around the Desire, its not TOO loose. So much so, im using that one and wont be investing in anything new.
If you desperately want Brodit then get one for the iPhone. Mine is non adjustable, so you could get an adjustable one and get a case.
i emailed Brodit the other day, they said the Desire one was nearly ready and would be available in a couple of weeks

Nexus Car Dock
Have you seen the Nexus Car Dock - look on the nexus site or Engadget - now that looks good and it has just gone on sale.
As the nexus has been out a while longer and is almost the same size does anyone know if some of the nexus stuff will fit the desire?

The Nexus dock? Of course it is... The Nexus has a MicroUSB port...
Does not look like the Nexus Car Dock will work with the desire - at least not if you want charging. Nexus has those three little contacts on the bottom for docking, and the car dock appears to use these to charge, with micro USB power cable plugging into the base of the dock, not the phone.
Have a look here: http://www.androidguys.com/2010/04/06/nexus-car-dock/
They also link to the help file found here: http://www.google.com/support/android/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=178146
Also I imagine it is with these ports the nexus realises it's docked in the car dock and thus enters the car home interface? This is not something I have yet found on my desire...
Cheers,
Andrew

I wonder if the iphone one would fit better if the Desire had a skin case on? I had a Brodit clip for my HTC Hero and it wouldnt fit in the holder with the skin case on.
Perhaps the Iphone holder for a Desire + Skin would be a perfect fit , any ideas?

HTC OEM Dock?

Anyone know when the OEM dock will be available?

I bought the Amazon one and am the second reviewer of it. The one thing I forgot to mention is how bright the LED is. It literally lit up my room at night and I could walk around as if I had a nightlight on. I cover it with electrical tape and problem solved. I also edited that review.

This is perhaphs a stupid questions but just wanna be sure since the last time I bought a dock for my HTC Sensation, it came with two different cables - one for data transfer/syncing and another for charging and neither would do both at the same time which was obviously not what I wanted and so had to return it and all that drama.
My question is - Does this dock allow you to do data transfer/sync and charge the device at the same time?
Thanks!

Since you bought it, let me ask you: Do you know if my phone will fit into the dock without taking off the TPU case that I keep the phone in?
I have this dock and the Diztronic case. It will NOT fit with the case on. It makes the phone too thick and just slightly too long to line up with the USB port.

I don't know. I don't use a case on mine. But how thick is the side on that case? It probably wouldn't without taking the case off.
EDIT : I tried my brothers One S on my dock because his has a silicon case. It's a thin case, and with it on you can use the dock as a stand, but it's not quite enough for data or power connection. Given that, the TPU case here looks small enough that it might work.

I just ordered the Hyperion stand from Amazon...it's available via Prime for $19.99.
I have the clear Cruzerlite Android case and will see if it works with it on when I get it.
Received the Hyperion Desktop Charging Cradle today via Amazon Prime.
The way the dock is designed seems that it will not work with any type of case on the HTC One.
Since the Cruzerlite case is so easy to put on & take off, it's not a real big deal...just a bit of an inconvenience.
I'm planning to keep this dock until something better comes along.
(RANT)
I'm just a bit upset with the delivery service that Amazon used.
They were so lazy that they actually threw my package from the sidewalk in front of my house onto my porch...there are 6 steps up to my front porch.
The thing that gets me is that the package fell off the porch and landed on the side of the house!
I saw this happen, but they drove off before I could give them a piece of my mind!
(END)
Quick question for those who bought the Hyperion Desktop Charging Cradle...does your One S indicate A/C or USB Charging when being charged on this dock?
Mine for some reason shows USB, but the Parameters Output: 5V 1000mAh (on the box)
Shouldn't that be A/C...not USB?
anyone try the oem evo 3d dock looks like it might be a good fir plus added hdmi functionality.
Anyone know if the hyperion will work with MHL adapter to bring hdmi functionality while docking?
I also found a dock made by a company KIDIGI that offers case compatibility while docked.
I am useing the evo 3d dock, Posted a picture. You would need to modify it alittle.

It only says "one x" but I would guess since there is enough play to hold the phone in a case that the extra fraction in length of the att wouldn't be a problem.

Cool product, still wish it used the POGO PINs.
Me too... I want a dock that does charging and audio out with no connecting. of wires.
I have the stock HTC One X car mount and it sucks. This looks much better.
The stock relies on these grooved sides to hold the phone in, and when you slide in the phone sometimes you have to wiggle to get the USB to plug in. Further, because it holds the phone pretty tightly, it's not easy to remove the phone. I have to use both hands to get my phone out of the car mount.
just brought this got to wait 10 days as its coming from china.
has anyone got one yet and got any feedback?
I was willing to pay the £40 for the htc official one but ultimately
i didnt go for that one because i didnt like the idea of having to
take the case on and off each time.
this ones meant to work with or without and was cheaper only £25.
ill post a review when i receive it.......

You'll need a Motorola phone to accomplish that. They send audio out the USB port of the car dock

Just received my KiDiGi dock yesterday. It's very well made and works great with the Rock slim case I have on my HOX. It comes with a usb cable and charger, but it doesn't appear to be wired to auto enable car mode when docked. No big deal...that's what NFC tags are for!
It's very similar in design to the iBolt dock that Sprint is selling for the EVO LTE. They both have the insert to work with or without a case on the phone, and a top latch to keep it secure. If the KiDiGi were easier to come by, I would highly recommend it. I ordered it from 4u-mobi back on May 24th, so it took about 3 weeks to make it here.

I received my dock as well. It does enable car mode for me, I'm not sure why it's not for you (are you on a Sense based rom?). I have a Casemate Barely There on my HOX and it works fine with the dock. The dock seems to be able to accomodate cases slightly thicker than the Barely There as well (but not much thicker). The headphone jack and camera are exposed and easy to get to. The top "flap" that keeps the phone in place snaps down with a satisfying thud. Very good build quality. The charger that comes with it is a single USB, 1.0A charger. Pretty standard. The usb cable that comes with it is one of those looped cables (like old corded phone cables) so if your charging port is more than 2 feet or so away from your mount it's gonna put some stress on the usb cable. There's also a little cavity underneath the phone on the mount that lets you wedge your finger in there to aid in getting the phone out of the dock, very nice touch.
Note: If you use the plastic dash mounting disk, the adhesive pad on the bottom needs at least 24 hours to set properly. I tried using the mount after letting it sit overnight and the adhesive was barely holding on, but the next day it was rock solid.
Just ordered it from htcpedia. $33 shipped.
The sprint dock is from kidigi but sprint just paid them to put their logo on there.

I was mistaken. CleanROM DE doesn't have the htc car app. I switched to SE and it does indeed auto-switch to car mode when docked.
Just got my KiDiGi dock today, very happy with my purchase. The arm is a little bulky and flimsy but the dock fits on my other arm perfectly so I could care less. Fits great with both my Mybat hybrid TPU case and my Diztronic TPU case. Highly recommended.
Just received mine as well, I don't consider the arm flimsy, though. Tighten it up and its sturdy as anything. Nice looking dock, fits with my barely there, and enables car mode. Just wish I could set music to a third party app, or figure out how.
And that's the aux cable wrapped around the arm.

An update on mine...
The adhesive disk for mounting on your dash kinda sucks...at least mine did. It could not hold up the mount while the phone was docked. I had the mount itself set at a 90 degree angle and after a bit of driving the adhesive disk just started peeling off.
My solution to this was getting some mounting puddy and using that as an adhesive plus setting the dock on my dash in a way that allows the mount itself (where you dock the phone) to rest on the dash, thereby alleviating any excessive torque being put on the dash disk.

Inexpensive Car Dock

I looked through the accessories threads and did not see this one.
Bought it on ebay, the item number is 310396344082. Sorry I am unable to post links yet.
If you do not plan on putting a case on your One X then I highly recommend this car dock. The suction is strong and all joints have tension adjusters. Also the cradle part is on a ball type swivel with tension adjustment. Holds the phone very securely and does not interfere with any of the buttons or ports. This is not a universal as the cradle part seems to be molded specifically for the HTC One x (perfectly molded around the camera).
It does not put the phone in car mode automatically, you will have to push the car icon. But I have seen special charging cables that will do that for you also.

Found a great car dock for the N4

I bought a Samsung Infuse OEM vehicle navigation dock a while back for my GSII Skyrocket and it work OK but the Skyrocket was always a little loose.
Today I put my Nexus 4 in it just to see if it fits and it does! It's a little tight but the phone snaps in and out with ease. Also the micro USB on the dock lines up perfectly with the dock. All you need is a Micro USB car charger and you are set! The dock also has a Mini jack for audio out but I haven't tested that yet. I would be shocked if that worked. I don't use it though because I stream audio to my car via bluetooth.
Here's a link to the dock so you know what it looks like, you can find it on ebay pretty easily.
Highly recommend it!

I've been using an Arkon universal windshield mount with my NS for a long time and am getting a second (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875999868) for my N4 (giving the Wife the NS), which is only 19 bucks w/ free shipping at Newegg. I've been extremely satisfied with it.
Mine has held up extremely well. It is easy to get the phone in and out; can swivel horizontal or vertical; has space for usb connector to car; holds tight, but doesn't leave a mark on the phone (totally firm and secure without being worrying at all); is universal so it will fit my next Nexus/Car; and has a nice flat surface to slap an NFC tag onto (turn Bluetooth on, switch to car mode). The only very minor issue (a non-issue really) I've had is that it has popped off of the windshield maybe 3 times in the past 2 years, but never with a phone in it or when I was driving; I'm pretty sure this is inevitable for window mounts. It only takes a few seconds to reattach and it is good to go.

Please keep us updated. I’m also looking for a universal car mount
I have been searching for a universal type car mount that can fit both my Nexus 7 (in a Seidio Active case without cover) and also fit the Nexus 4 with a case/bumper or whatever. The compromise is that the Nexus 4 cannot be charged while in this mount. The search goes on I guess, but I am quite happy with it at this point.
I have found the Xenomix mount from Korea. Seems like the only place I can find it was from ebay. It took a good 10 business days to air ship from Korea to me in Texas. Anyway, the mini review and pics are below.
