This thread and ROM hasn't been updated for a long time so it's locked, for reference only.
You may have noticed I've been rather quiet recently. I've been spending my time trying to get Firefox-OS working. It's based on Android's HAL so it should work, but currently the Mozilla part is still not compatible with ARMv6 devices. Nothing I try will get it to boot.
However going through the build files, I came across some files that are quite different to CyanogenMod, potentially we may have been creating inferior builds since even the Gingerbread days!!!
So, I took a break and set to work to create a new build of Jellybean. We know that Jellybean is a bit of a beast so any improvements should be easily noticeable. I based my work on the recently announced jellybean-stable branch.
So I flashed my new ROM and... It's lightening fast!
BIG WARNING: It's lightening fast compared to the ROM I just flashed over BUT I built that ROM at the end of August, two and a half months ago. I don't know if the performance improvement is due to the changes I made, or if it's due to changes that Rashed has made along with changes to CyanogenMod in general.
If someone could try the ROM and tell me if they also think it's faster, or if I've simply caught up with Rashed and my changes to the build system didn't do anything.
Below is a link to the raw ROM that i built:
cm-10-20121114-UNOFFICIAL-p500.zip
Below is the ROM I flashed to my phone. It's based on the ROM above except with some changes (see Post 2):

Files Removed:
Calendar.apk
Email.apk
Exchange2.apk
Gallery2.apk
QuickSearchBox.apk
Files Added:
EmailGoogle.apk
Exchange2Google.apk
GalleryGoogle.apk
GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
LegacyCamera.apk
My Minimal JB GAPPS
GalleryGoogle (from ICS) replaces Gallery2 because I want my Google+ photos in my gallery.
LegacyCamera is added as the Camera is part of Gallery2 in JB.
Calendar removed as it's now available from the Play Store.
Email, Exchange, and QuickSearchBox are replaced with their Google enhanced counterparts.
The GAPPS I included are optimized for ease of use. I didn't include anything for voice search etc.
Eventually I'll release them as two separate packages since we know it's naughty to release a rom with GAPPS inside...
Also I didn't include some lib***.so files from GAPPS, as they seem related to functions our phones cannot do.
If you flash my modified ROM, please test as much as you can and let me know if anything that usually works is now broken. The files are as follows:
libfilterpack_facedetect.so
libflint_engine_jni_api.so
libfrsdk.so
libgcomm_jni.so
libgoogle_recognizer_jni.so
libpatts_engine_jni_api.so
libpicowrapper.so
libspeexwrapper.so
libvideochat_jni.so
libvideochat_stabilize.so
libvoicesearch.so
libvorbisencoder.so

I thought that I will not see updates from you.
But You come back!
Thanks adfad!!!
Welcome back Adam! Great news for us!
Just did a clean format to install Oxygen ICS a couple of hours back but you Adam, your ROM is too hard to resist.
Downloaded and flashed. Yes, it is really fast.
Issues so far:
- Getting a FC on Google Text to Speech Engine. Not much of an issue though.
I will try the roms and edit this post soon.
Edit: very smooth indeed.

So glad to see you're back Adam. I haven't been playing with this rom for very long, but it's stupid fast. It unlocks instantly, everything is so smooth. In my opinion, it's a fair bit faster than rashed's latest rom. Great work like always.
I did full wipe and got "symlink: some symlinks failed E:Error in /sdcard/cm-10........zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Any Idea why?

It was a bad download! sorry for that.. and thank you!
Its good to see an active development thread from you, again. Good work
While it's indeed faster that Rashed's ROM it still has all the same problems, the stock camera force closes, panorama and video doesn't work on other cameras, mic not working on third party apps, battery drains left and right and the worse of all.... still no navigation bar ;- ;
Only 4% battery usage over night (7 hours). Thats awesome... Check SC

Welcome back Adam! Yes P500 is not as interesting as Nexus7.
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Definatly faster. Battery lasts okay in sleep, but the moment you start using the device, it drops fast. Adam if you can fix the camera and solve the screen battery drain, you have a winner here :good:
Thank You for coming back. I can definitely say that P500 is not dead yet with you, bytecode, popdog and rashed still on it.

This is my second port ever! Feedback is appreciated.
The official website is here: http://www.mfunz.com/
This is a port so all credit goes to CM team which I used as Base, and the developers of MokeeOS.
I will provide support for both the new and old baseband.
Each release will provide support for the new baseband, I believe CM7.2 has support for both. If not let me know and I'll put a file for support of the old basebad.
New baseband = March 11 2012
Old Baseband = July 2011

Kernels, gapps, guides for troubleshooting, etc Are in this post by me.
these ports look almost identical to miui. is there any advantages to these OS's??
LewaOS port seems to be less resource intensive than MIUI. Its very snappy and does basics well.
Wating to check this port
That is true, to me they incorporate what we like from MIui and improve.
LewaOS is great.
This I like even more. I had to add some apps that I forgot hence why the links are not up yet.
I'm going to put the screenshots now. I have them already.
Screenshots are up, I will be uploading more.

I havent test it much yet. I noticed some settings in chinese, they had pics so you can tell but still chinese.
I had to fix some things on my LewaOS port so I'm flashing back for testing. Still uploading this one. I had to upload one by one to make it faster since it would be 4 files to keep in sync so the upload speed went down.
Edit: New baseband version is out.
8 more minutes for the old baseband version to finish uploading.

Yes it is. I just didnt feel like removing them since they release the rom with them.
Oops, I installed gapps. No big deal. I'm used to doing that.
About the ROM. So far, so good. Themes are nice, like the Auro one. Superuser doesn't work, solved by downloading from play store. Visually, more exciting and polished vs LewaOS. Pinyin keyboard is ok, reinstalled Swype beta.
I like the drawer settings vs LewaOS better.
Under settings CPU info crashes hard and noticed ZTE Blade info listed in the settings.
Great initial release. I will give this more testing.

Thanks I tried to change it to put my name on it but it doesnt show. This port seems to be more challenging. LewaOS is easier.
I guess that is why there is no guide for it yet. I personally like MokeeOS better for all the options it has. But I havent tested it as much as LewaOS.
My theory is that LewaOS will run faster. While MokeeOS gives even more MIUI like functions with more original contant.
Just benched MokeeOs and it runs slower than stock.
My bench of LewaOS had it running almost exactly the same as stock O2X according to quadrant

Battery Drain and Calling Issues
I've lost 20% in about 20 minutes which is pretty fast battery drain for me. Also, phone calls aren't working for me. Phone picks up but I can't hear the person on the other end and they can't hear me.
Gonna do a fresh install and try again.

I wonder why this post hasnt gotten more attention than this. Ive been looking for a truly english MIUI port and was willing to settle for GB or CM7 but youve done it in ICS and CM9! and on IPlasm's Phonerty ROM which is my daily ROM right now. WOW! Kudos man. Im currently downloading, I'll test and let you know how it goes. I know you said youre not a dev but if you can succesfully pull of this port, im sure theres a lot more you can do. Id like to encourage you to develop this further. thanks a lot!
Edit: I forgot to mention its MIUI v4!!! lol. I cant wait.

Sorry, this my first rom and have some bugs. You can call to your devices to test when boot success. No one care about this rom and if you like this, i will sent you the last rom i've fixed bug by pm. Can't post link because not enough 10 posts.
i appreciate the quick response. will test soon and let you know. in the mean time, you could add a few screenshots and change the title of the thread to to include more info about the ROM like the base ROM. also, make ur reccomendations for the LK to use and any process you'd reccomend during the flash process in the first post. maybe that'll grab some more attention from passers-by in the forums and pull some of the big names like Munjeni in. I'm quite sure there is a demand for a ROM like this seeing as HD Mini ROMs are in short supply.
Great work again man.

Dstar000, I think I've realized what the problem is: this thread is located in the wrong forum. Its in "HD Mini General" when it should be in "HD Mini Android Development". I'm sure the Admins can help you move it there. Once that happens, this ROM'll get the recognition it deserves.

Thank you, as you see, I'm not enough posts to post on develope forum. Are you test my rom? If possible, can you post some screen shot? Hope you like it.
so, after numerous flashes and reflashes, i think i've got my bootloader sorted out finally and MIUI v4 is running! :good:
So far, I'm loving it. I was having problems with Phonerty (my Play Store wasnt working and i couldnt sync) but its all sorted out and my phoen feels brand new. and then of courese there's the beauty of MIUI, it almost looks like a new screen.
The OS is fast and responsive. I seem to have noticed a graphic bug already though: the gallery seems to spill out of the screen where it says "explore storage card" at the bottom of the screen. I'll post screenshots very soon as well as the results of my testing
Thanks again dstar000, and great work!
Screenshots
Ok, here are the screenshots. I also sent a message to the Moderator of the Android Dev forum on your behalf and I hope he'll move this thread over soon.
Bug Report
1. Capacitive buttons backlight don't work
2. Gallery layout is mixed up
3. Still some Chinese menus deep in the interface
4. Other known issues from Phonerty ROM
Still worth it though!
PS - dstar000, the thread has been moved. Congrats.

Can't start music
CPU is running on 800mHZ isn't this to much?
How could i lower the cpu mhz?
Again thank you for this rom
Workarounds
To resolve the grahical issues with the Gallery, install Gallery ICS from Play Store and set it as the default image viewer.
To apply themes, create the folder data/system/themes. You will need root access to do this so either use a root level file manager or
Download terminal emulator from the market and write:
su
cd data/system
mkdir theme
(Press "enter" after each command)

Try starting the music player again right after it crashes, if that doesn't work, try a third party music player. If that works, try flashing the ROM again. I noticed I had a lot of FCs after my first flash but less after I reflashed.
To control the CPU, search for a CPU throttle in the Play Store. I personally use CPU Tuner but some may find it too complicated.

Hi, may ask you which miui rom you used for porting to photon... I just want to make one for desire c ? Thanks...
Very nice rom !
However, i managed to encouter some problem.
First, i don't know why, but this rom can't give me access to superuser/root permission.
Then some apps began to be quite buggy, with lots of graphical issue whenever a new window in the prog had to pop up.
And last, i had a "black screen" default (which needed batery removal and all that to reboot), just after i had a received a sms.

I encountered all of those bugs as well. I think its because MIUI handles permissions in a slightly different way from non-MIUI ROMs. I had the black screen twice in one day but havent had it since. I know it happens a lot less or not at all in 2G mode. I think it goes back to Munjeni's Phonerty ROM which is the base for this port. I'll look through that thread to see if there are any solutions.

Not (Munjeni's Phonerty ROM!).. "it's two difficult ROMs"
Munjeni's ROM name for htc mini is simply CM9 4.0.4 htc mini. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625638
but Phonerty is mine (iPlasm), I name it that [Photon+Liberty=?] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756672
simply different we can say Phonerty is a Liberty ROM (a copy of htc aria) with munjeni's drives.
but munjeni's ROM like a native htc mini (Photon), but it's also taken on Liberty for Android.

My bad! thanks for clearing that up.
Hello again!
I present to you Oxygen ROM 3.0.0 (ICS) for LG Optimus One.
Oxygen ROM is a highly optimized AOSP rom with only a few added features. I also intend to keep it that way. There will be no added features unless the good people from Oxygen want to add them. The rom is like this for a reason. So requests like "can you add theme manager?", "can it make me coffee?" will be ignored.
As usual, there is no Theme Manager and FM Radio so don't even bother asking.
The rom is for new baseband only!
How to use:
The rom includes an OTA (Over The Air) Update app. This means that you will get a new update whenever it is released and you don't need to download it manually from the download source. You will receive a notification on your phone and you can download the rom and flash it right away. (Requires: internet connection, Google Account for push notifications and custom recovery [I've tested ClockworkMod but others should work as well])
If you flash the rom from the OTA app then (at least with ClockworkMod) it might take a bit more time and it might look frozen. Just give it a bit of time and it will finish and reboot in your new fresh version of the rom.
I've had some issues with CWM 5.0.2.0. My advice is to update your recovery to 5.0.2.7 (new bb)
You can find the download link, issues and change log in the blog: http://oxygen-for-p500.blogspot.com
If you want to submit issues please do so on the Google Code Project Page. Remember to add the label: "Version-ICS" at the bottom of the issue. It should be added by default but in case you don't see it, add it.
Credits:
Oxygen Team for the awesome rom
CyanogenMod Team for all the patches for low end devices for ICS
Code Aurora Forum also for patches and kernel for P500
Team M.A.C. for their sources. They should get all the credit for doing the hard work!
OTA app courtesy of OTA Update Center
Kernel courtesy of LGICS
And last but not least: YOU! Thank you for encouraging me and pushing me to continue development on the ROM. Also thank you for the donations that keep the project alive. Nothing could have been done without you, the user.
You can find the sources on my Github.
Enjoy responsibly!
Oh Yeah! Downloading now!
thanks popdog...would you mind make a discussion thread in general section for the people who have noob questions like me?
Well bugs are submitted on the google code page, other details are on the blog, so just go ahead and ask your questions here. I don't think there's need for a discussion thread.
thanks man...my sd card is not partitioned yet...should i partition it before flashing your rom? cause you said it has a2sd script
and also does this rom have all the languages that are present in cm7?
Amazing!
@omidreza
No you don't need to
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda
If you want to use a2sd (which i recommend due to the small internal storage) then you have to partition the sd card. Otherwise you don't.
Also there are a lot of languages in the rom (don't know how many are in CM) but unfortunately I had to remove dictionaries from the keyboard. So many system languages, but only english dictionary.

Aha nice job popdog! I've been waiting for this!

If you can get past the known bugs you can use it as a daily rom. I am using it and the battery life is pretty decent too...
alrighty, oxygen has moved forward to ICS

Downloaded. Enjoying IcyOxygen
popdog123 !!!! tethering works or not
what about usb modem ?
why on cm9 roms we don't have the option of staying on WCDMA network only (all cm7 roms had this) ?
Background
This is a very light and tweaked version of CM10.1 along with a lightened and tweaked version of GApps. If you are familiar with my original HP TouchPad Light-n-Tasty (LnT) releases, you know what to expect, although as of late I am going even further. For example, I am not including the CM Browser or Calendar apps in the ROM as IMO there are much better 3rd party ones available in Google Play, generally for free. (I do encourage you to support the developer via a paid app if that is available.) The standard GApps should be able to be used with the ROM, if so desired. Updates to the ROM and GApps will be made as significant changes occur, or if I get bored :silly: and want to flash something new .
Flashing
Personally, coming from LnT_CM10.1-EMMC, I just dirty flash over it with no problems. If you are coming from another ROM, it is highly recommended that you do a full set of wipes before flashing the ROM. It is also recommended that GApps be concurrently flashed with the ROM.
Issues
The issues with LnT are the same as with other CM10.1-EMMC releases.
Acknowledgements
I would personally like to thank verygreen, whose device tree this build is based on. Of course, I am also indebted to the many others who make generic contributions to CM, and of course to Google and AOSP for providing open source, which without none of this could be accomplished.

As you can see, I personally go for that 'picture window' look on my home screen.
Nook System Add Ons
Find your system add ons to LnT here. They need to be placed in the system/apps directory, followed by setting the permissions appropriately using a file explorer allowing root access (e.g. Total Commander), and then rebooting your Nook. Since I don't use these I really can't verify if they work. Finally, if you are aware of a newer version, notify me and I will update here asap.
Hello O.a.T,
Always loved your HP TP roms. Hopefully you will also build one for the HD+.
excellent.
do you havethe stock browser apk so i can give this a a shot? i like the stock browser lol
Welcome O.a.T., good to see you here.
I have the HD+ but always good to see more development in general for this device. I know you'll do some good stuff here and it's a huge plus to have someone like verygreen for the device tree.

Just extract it from verygreen's CM10.1 rom and push it to system with a root explorer. Quick and easy.

works great. i meant stock browser which is already there. touch screen works great. seems like a placebo effect when flashing new roms but hopefully not here.

I just flashed tonight and I'm liking everything so far. However, I find that every time I click on themes under settings, I get the error message "unfortunately, settings has stopped." And then I'm back to home. I have also received the same error message a couple of times while changing about in settings.

Themes have been removed. I'll post those up on the post after the OP along with directions for how to 'install'.
The gapps link is no longer available.

Sorry 'bout that. I was doing some reorganizing and forgot to update the link here. Will be updated shortly.
As an aside, I'll try to update the ROM by the weekend so everybody can have the latest and greatest, although most of the action seems to be going on with CM10.2
[TYPE][ANDROID VERSION][NAME][OTHER INFO][DATE]
This ROM is a fully AOSP build of Android 4.4 KitKat. The source was downloaded and compiled by me.
It is exactly what Google will release in “a few weeks” for the 2012 Nexus 7 when they release KitKat
This ROM is based off of Baldwinguy77's work on 'Shiny' for Toro, and uses his vendor. I did all the bring up for Grouper(with a ton of help from Baldwinguy77) The difference is that some of the changes he has made to the system aren't here, this is AOSP with a few modifications to make it run, Hence the Unofficial Tag.
There will be changes coming to fix bugs and remove redundancies between AOSP and Google Proprietary files. Also, changes will be made to the system to include some other small features in time. This ROM will branch out from baldwinguy's initial work to something a little bit different.
Google Apps are included in this build.
Bugs:
Boot Animation
You tell me
I, nor Baldwinguy77 is responsible for anything that goes wrong during the installation.
Special Thanks goes to Baldwinguy77 for helping me out and supplying his vendor files, as well as answering all my questions in the past 72 hours. Please consider donating to him as most of the initial bringup was his work: Paypal Donate Link for Baldwinguy77
Also, please note that this does not contain root. You are responsible for adding root at the moment.
Feel free to let me know if anything goes wrong. This is my first public posting of a ROM I have built from source.
Also note that the first boot is extraordinarily long.

does camera work on this build?
popup keyboard and rotating fixed ??
otherwise it's the same as all the other 4.4 roms / ports outthere
Forget keyboard popup, are you fixed rotation and gradient glitch problem ?
Let him feel special for releasing this, after all he did all the work. Who cares if there are 3 other similar ROMs

I tested ROM, everything is same with other similar ROMS...
Can you please add this bugs to your thread:
-Rotation
-GPS
-Camera
-Launcher Keyboard Popup
I will add those. I have an idea on GPS and should have it working be end of day. The keyboard issue seems proprietary, but I have ideas about it.

Well, first, my understanding is that you should separate the GAPPS from the ROM, per Google's license... that being said, included or separate, can you deliver them ODEXED so we can try Art instead of Dalvik?
thanks,
jf

Please explain what you are talking about with regards to Art.
I include google apps for convenience, and several ROMs have done this same method. At the end of the day, I plan on providing what Google will eventually provide for the N7.
FWIW, the CM 11.0 source has dropped, and I've posted some quick stuff about it in the build thread.
My n7 is down for the moment (loose charger slot thing) but that doesn't mean y'all should have to wait
Good luck, we're all counting on you.
This ROM unrooted my N7 and is giving me constant acore.process issues. Think I'll go back to koko98's version, seems more stable.

Please provide more than constant acore issues. I also do not include root, as I state in the OP.

I will see about getting a release out sometime today/tomorrow,when I know that its stable. I also don't know how to fix some of the binary issues, but I know they'll be fixed soon

ART is Google's runtime replacement for Dalvik - you can enable it under settings, but if you install 'normal' GAPPS, i.e., deodexed ones, it conflicts and they keep FC'ing
My understanding is that won't happen with odexed gapps; with them, we could try ART instead of dalvik.

Now that I understand and have researched it, I'm going to take this idea for right now:
I will not be distributing a seperate gapps package that is odexed. This ROM, anyways is deodexed out of the box and as such, probably breaks all compatibly with ART.
Android ships with dalvik, and for now, I will not be offering support for something which requires me to redo the rom and provides no benefit. In fact, it appears to break many apps on the app store right now.
If in time, ART is shown to be stable and has all the issues ironed out, I will begin odexed builds and provide odexed gapps.
