Seidio Active & Barely There cases...

I have one of each of these cases in white and a few others I'm looking to sell since I am a major case-whore and bought too many and need to get rid of some that I don't use. All of them are in *NEW* condition and have never been used - only 'tried on for size'. All are in their original packaging.

I'm the same way. I have a bunch of cases that were only on my phone for a minute. I have at least 10 different cases and the only case I actually use is my Diztronic TPU case. I do the same thing with every phone I get.

Me too, I just got the Platinum series from best buy which is the same as the Seidio surface. It sucked. The texture was really rubbery and kind of waxy to the touch and the front protection came wayyy to far in covering too much of the screen.
I can tell you guys this much. NO ONE, NO ONE makes a better case than the current OEM Nokia Lumia people. I have owned a Lumia 800 and N9 and the cases they make for those phones which is built like the One X(I think HTC jacked Nokia design) is perfect. You can't even tell there is a case on there. Not very protective but a beautiful case if you are just trying to preserve the body of the phone.

I am SO glad I am not the only one. I do the same thing with EVERY phone I buy too. I have 12 cases right now for the One X. Well, once I send the Seidio out I'll be down to 11 but still... I don't know WHY I buy so many. LOL

It is because you are looking for the perfect one! The problem is sometimes you can only see a case online. Then when it gets to you there are many qualities that don't show through a computer screen like the feel of it, the size of the material, does it collect lint, are the cutouts in the right place, is the fit right. If something bothers you then off to the next case or two or TWELVE lol!

Well put. I couldn't agree more! Cases are SO misleading online. When I had my SGSII Skyrocket I did the EXACT same thing as well as my Galaxy Nexus, Infuse and Craptivate. LOL

I have a real bad ebay habit. Among all the crap I buy from there, I tend to order a bunch of phone accessories. I actually love ordering stuff from china because it's cheap as hell and takes forever to get here. By the time it arrives I had already forgotten about it and then it's a pleasant surprise. I literally have crap being delivered to me every day. I just got another case today. A cheap $2 silicone one that I will never use. I need to stop.

I really like my Platinum case. I'm fond of the texture (and so is HTC and Motorola, since my previous two phones have the same texture on their cases) and I don't think there is any issue with the screen whatsoever. There are 2mm of space between the visible portion of the screen and the case... I'm really not seeing the issue with that?

Is the barely there case for the international One X or the AT&T One X? You don't specify.

They're universal...I read that in one of the other threads on here.

SEIDIO Cases - Confirmed

I haven't used any of their cases since the Nexus 5, but just looked them up on Twitter and they said the cases are coming.

I just contacted them and they said that they thought maybe the Dilex would be the first case BUT that decision has not yet been made. The employee further explained that the product team was still evaluating their options to decide what products would best make sense.
So it sounds to me that we're at least some weeks away before we can pre-order any Seidio cases.

I saw something on their twitter stream say they weren't going to make OBEX cases for either Nexus, but if they have improved their holster durability and the rubber holding onto the phones isn't so soft anymore I'd be happy to get one again. Great looking cases.

They use a TPU now instead of a silicon so its much better in my opinion.

Oh really??? Hmmm, if they've fixed the kickstand thing (always being off centered so your phone flips to landscape when laying flat) I will definitely look at them.

noooo! surface all the way. my only real concern is how they'll shape the cutout for the fingerprint sensor. hopefully its a bit more ergonomic than what ive seen so far

I asked Seidio on 10/3 if they would be making a Surface case for the 6P, as that is by far the best case I've ever had. Hopefully a case of a clueless customer service rep, but here is their reply from an e-mail on 10/5:

Thank You for contacting Seidioonline.
Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for a Nexus 6P.
This doesn't mean that we will not eventually release it for this phone we just haven't got plans to at this time.
We're always in the process of developing and releasing new accessories so I do recommend periodically checking our online store for product updates.

EDIT: After posting this, I went to their website, and saw that I can now sign up for updates on Nexus 6P products. That wasn't one of the listed choices when I e-mailed them on 10/3. Pretty sure they wouldn't make it a selection choice if they weren't going to make products for it.

Well its not a big loss because if they can't commit I won't miss their cases. I'm rather disappointed by the lack of good cases lately. Oe wish people would take the Nexus line seriously instead of making it an after thought

I love the Otterbox Commuter line of cases. The Galaxy Nexus ruined it with Otterbox. The size differences between the GSM and CDMA versions caused huge headaches with customers who dont know and dont care about the difference. Many sales, too many returns and exchanges, and now Otterbox says "f you, Google". Well I say "f you Verizon" for constantly dictating how phones should be.

Yes, but Nexus phones sell well enough to consider. They might not sell as well as a S6 but certainly they sell better than the M9 did

I had to clean up my floor after mentioning it. It looks like a dorm room hallway on a Saturday morning with all of the vomit. The M9 still has more case variety than we will see with this phone which is the sad part.

i love seidio products, but man i hate this company. iphone cases are out a month before the phones hit the shelves. flagship nexus devices? well what you need to do is continually email us, fill out a stupid request form as many times as you can, sit and wait for 2 months and THEN we'll release it for you. bull****

I have the naked version on the holster on my N6. I never use a case I am hoping they make the naked holster only.

Exactly what I'm hoping for too. It looks like they don't make all the holsters for a lot of android devices. I hope the 6P is the exception.

Case with a kick stand?

After using a case mate naked tough case on my nexus 6 I was looking at getting a case with a kick stand for media consumption and so far not seen any for the 6p. If anyone has seen one can you let me know. Iv ordered a cheap one for the time being to offer some protection but it is only meant as a temporary until I can find one I actually want and fits the bill for my needs

Do a deeper search than I did and I bet you'll find more. Most of these seem to be the extremely bulky case types, which don't interest me personally. One case I had for the Nexus 6 which had a kickstand but was also slim was the Seidio Surface case. http://www.seidioonline.com/motorola-nexus-6-surface-kickstand-case-garnet-red-p/csr3mtn6k-gr.htm You might want to contact them and see if they plan on making a N6P case. I'll vouch for Seidio - they make pretty good products. I've even deployed them with iPhones at work.

I saw something recently about how a lot of the early cases are blocking important parts of the sensor/antenna bar (the black bar on the back of the phone). Does anyone know how much of the bar needs to be exposed to not impede functionality?
And to the OP, I've had a kickstand case with my last two phones, and last two tablets, and I just can't go back to a device without it now. So thanks for starting this thread.

I have found that many of these are preproduction images, so I wouldn't rely on the current pictures to show me anything more than a rough idea of what the final product will generally look like. Several product images have already changed on Amazon's site.
Wait until the middle / end of October for all the companies to get the products finalized. This forum already has several threads with replies from manufacturers saying designs aren't final. They are just trying to ensure they get their piece of the pie on early and preorder case dollars when they list products this early on Amazon.

Gotcha, thanks for the info.

Real interested in the i-Blason case since I'm looking for a hybrid case with a kickstand that gives me peace of mind without Nexus protect.
However I emailed them aobut the laser AF problem and got this:

Once Seidio releases their cases the Surface should have a kickstand. Using that case now on my S4 and love it.

Was thinking of it but looks very cheap
Plastic stand and i hate the silicon wrapped in Plastic.
I've seen nicer ones that are more costly by reputable companies but none for 6p
Bought a tpu for now from tudia.... Nice and slim but would like to have a spare with kickstand so I'll wait a bit more to see if anything comes up

A case with a stand will be ultimately what I get.
As I am getting a silver phone rather than a black one, I would really love a crystal clear case with stand! Although I'm sure this will never happen.

Spigen has a ring that attaches to any case (flat surface) that works as a kickstand and a grip helper for the phone. They also include a car mount with it. Here's the link

Doesn't it make it wobble when flat? Looked cool initially but I think it's a bit weird to carry 24/7 on such a nice phone. And I doubt it last forever if constantly removing it.

I haven't received it yet, but I know that I will be using it as a kickstand, so what's the relevance of "lying flat"? It looks like if you stick it above center, but still out of the way of the Imprint sensor, it should sit on a table/desk at a very convenient angle in either orientation...

I just sometimes lay it flat and don't always use a kickstand. I enjoy it when I need it but not all the time.
I'd prefer a thin case that has a kickstand if and when needed.... But each use phone differently

Haha I was thinking the exact same thing! I got the protection plan too... First phone with no camera bump - Woooohoooooo!
I've also only had a Galaxy s3, Note 3, Note 4, Note 5, and now Note 7.
Can't wait to get me some Google goodness! Some complain about the price point, where I say "finally a premium phone rather than 6 month old mid range specs phone .... Oh yeah that offered vanilla Android - which is awesome, but it's still a mid range phone..."

Much rather pay that for their photo cases which i really like and thinking of getting it as an add on gift as buying the phone for the lazy half's birthday. However not sure he'll like it. Torn....

I want it immediately also, I do not want anything to happen to it... When I got my S6 Edge+ I put the Otterbox on and while at the store, before it was even activated it got bumped off the counter onto the floor.
I do not like the Otterbox I have on my S6E+ because is it a smooth hard plastic and will on its own slide off of counters and other smooth surfaces... I much prefer the silicon or rubberized cases that grip.

I love the photo cases, like $40, there is a store nearby that sells phone cases, and can "print" onto Otterbox cases, but for either I am not sure how it will hold up... the problem for me with this, is that he charges $30 to print, plus the $60 for the Otterbox, and then the Otterbox has design pattern and their name embossed into the case so the picture may not look as good as on the smooth silicone case in the Play Store. Oh, and they can only print on white, and Otterbox does not have white cases yet for the Pixel.

Thanks, I didn't catch that and thought it was a TPU case. I am deciding between this one as it looks thin or a Dbrand Skin instead. I want to get the phone in hand, feel how slippery and/or fragile it feels first. The more naked the better if the phone can take a "whoops"

if only these cases would be freely distributed to first buyers... haha, just like Coby phone.

Google can still learn a few things from Apple. Official iPhone accessories are available and usually ship well before the phone ships.
Has anyone found anything similar outside of Google. I'm paranoid about dropping this thing particularly as I'm in a country where this is not available so will not be able to service in case of a drop.

Amazon is your best bet. I ordered my case a week ago and it should be here tomorrow. Two clear cases for 7$. Can't beat that.

Kind of pissed. I ordered three cases (around the 12th), one of the being the google clear case and they all said in stock. Then i either get emails from the companies saying sorry the case will ship out on the 28th or the arrival day is 28th-1st. Now i have a naked phone from the 20th- and i don't want to **** it up.

I ordered the Spigen Rugged Armor from Amazon and it came a few days ago. The phone comes today. I am terrible about dropping things and recently broke my hand, so it is now worse. I prefer no case, but I drop things way too often.

Anyone know how thick the silicone is? I find it very hard to believe its 19mm which would make the case height on both sides 10.4mm which in theory makes the back a 6mm ish case. That would be otterbox big.
The other reason why I think 19mm is incorrect is that it's the same dimensions for the clear case which is noticeably thinner than the live or silicone cases.

Any 2-piece cases for the 3a yet?

Does anybody make a 2-piece case with the TPU inside and the hard plastic shell? I've been using this type for years and love it. But can't seem to find any for the pixel 3a anywhere yet.

It seems like one of those is for the Pixel 3 XL, or maybe that's just the stock image. I am so torn right now. I have one of those cases on my LG G3 and it makes it feel like a brick. I want to enjoy my new 3a, but I am also so afraid I will drop and break it. Does anyone think a TPU case will be enough?

I want to enjoy my new 3a, but I am also so afraid I will drop and break it. Does anyone think a TPU case will be enough?

For my last 3 phone I've used TPU only and they've survived. This is the case I'm getting today. However, I try(maybe more than most) to baby my phones. Although, I must admit I've dropped them occasionally
It really depends on how you typically treat your phone. Example: My wife drops her iphone all the time but she has a bit stronger case.

The thread title is "any 3 piece cases for the 3a yet". That implies available now. Not "any 2 piece cases that will be available in a month?" :laugh:

Thanks for your info. I am also looking for a clear case. Let us know how this one works for you, please. Reviews are quite mixed. I'm also looking at the Spigen clear but it's listed as 1/12 in which would make it about twice as thick as the ESR. I never encased my GNex, N4, N5 or N5x., but I did skin the last 3 to get a better grip. The 3a seems pretty sturdy and not nearly as slippery as I thought it would be. I won't have mine until Friday.

I got it just a few hours ago. Seems good and fits well, but I'm pretty easy to please. All I was looking for was something to absorb some shock and also a scratch preventive when I lay it on a hard surface. I really wanted a different color but cases for these models are hard to come by right now. This ESR will serve my requirements until newer ones start showing up.

This is, in fact, my second UB series case (I have one for the Galaxy S7 - which my 3a sent into retirement). The one I linked to is in black (mine is in blue - by choice). It is $19.95USD. Too pricey? There is the Unicorn Beetle Style series for the 3a as well. All are available now.
