[Q] Scaling wallpapers for the Droid Razr HD - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know the dimensions for the Droid Razr HD wallpapers? I'm trying to scale my favorite wallpapers that I have for use on the phone

This is a great question, I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I've seen screenshots 3 ways:
1.) Where the wallpaper extends all the way down behind the buttons.
2.) Where the wallpaper extends half way down behind the buttons.
3.) Where the wallpaper ends at the top of the buttons.
I'd like to know how to get it to go ALL the way down. Even the stock ones stop half way down the buttons for me.
I think this may have something to do with Nova Prime...

Bump. How do we get wallpapers to go all the way down when using Nova?

Standard Android wallpapers are as follows... 1x vertical resolution, 2x horizontal resolution. In the case of the 720x1280 Razr HD, you want to create your wallpaper at 1440x1280. Keep in mind that it'll be centered on the screen and not scroll with the default launcher, but the image still needs to fit that size to avoid the phone resizing it.
Other launchers can turn scrolling on and off, and Wallpaper Wizardrii can resize wallpapers, and will allow you to set 720x1280 images as wallpapers without padding the sides to the double resolution.

Does your background image extend behind the buttons to the bottom edge of the display when using Nova?
When I use Nova Launcher, backgrounds are cut off half way down the buttons, when I go to the default launcher they go all the way down (same wallpaper).

[Q] Turn off Honeycomb Wallpaper shifting on all screens?

Hello, is it possible to turn of wallpaper shifting? I mean I want to have a single wallpaper on all screens that is not shifted between them, like in Android 2.3 on my Galaxy TAB, I can choose wallpaper format, wide or thin, portrait, that stays the same on all screens and only the desktops move...
Honeycomb has 5 screens, and wallpaper moves slightly through screens left or right. How can I use a wallpaper in the background that stays frozen and only desktops move?
Multipicture Live Wallpaper has a wallpaper for each screen, I want only one wallpaper, with moving desktops.
I have an Acer A500
Im not a fan of shifting wallpaper either. This app called MultiPicture Live Wallpaper seemed to fix that for me.

set wallpaper without cropping

Unable to set wallpaper without cropping a portrait-ready-made-wallpaper, it's annoying because i made the wallpaper myself, in the settings (in this case Trebucher launcher) i made sure i deselected scrolling wallpaper, wallpaper is 720x1280 and if it's cropped it's made smaller and doesn't fit the screen like it should, are they any apps that fix that? i found an app the other day but i uninstalled it since the icon sucked and wanted to get rid of it.

wallpaper size (single screen)

i'm trying to set a single screen wallpaper on my XE, the size of the pic at the moment is 540x960. but when i try to set the wallpaper it only allows me to get half of the pic, what size should the wallpaper be so when i select it i can choose the whole pic and not half. any good wallpaper apps would also be appreciated. thanks...........................sudeki300
It should be about 1080x960 to get the full wallpaper in there.
You can use the GIMP and it's Resize Canvas tool to make white space on the sides of the image to convert the image to 1080x960. If you post the wallpaper or link it, I can do it for you.
Image 2 Wallpaper is on the market and can do it for you, as well.
here is the pic i'm trying to use, is that the correct size for setting the wallpaper using the screen size thingy that is used before setting a wallpaper in sense, sorry i don't know the correct name for the app. thanks buddy...................sudeki300
Try this one.
that was super fast give me a sec and i'll try it.................sudeki300
works ok in sense launcher (little blurred on the text) but when i try to set the pic in nova or apex launcher i get half the screen with the image and the other half in black. how can i fix this?..............sudeki300
edit: it's ok i sorted it, forgot to turn off wallpaper scrolling (duh). thanks so much for your quick help, that's why i love XDA forum........................sudeki300
Set Nova and Apex Launcher to not scroll the wallpaper and make sure its cropped right down the center (that resizable rectangle screen) and it should work fine. This wallpaper will not work in landscape mode (apex or nova's auto-rotate feature) cause it'll leave black bars along the side.
Text shouldn't look blurry because I shrunk it from its original size, if anything, it should look crisper. I'm away from my PC right now but I can assist you further later.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
all sorted now, forgot to turn off wallpaper scrolling, thanks sshede. take care buddy and look after yourself.................sudeki300

Scrolling wallpaper fix!

Ok I was annoyed about this as much as anyone else so I did some testing. Hold your homescreen, choose live wallpapers, choose Asus Myframe, choose settings, choose select folder or album, choose select photos, choose what folder you want to choose from, pick a picture, now while still in myframe settings choose effects static, slideshow interval 1 hour or whatever and check scrolling wallpaper.
Now you have scrolling wallpapers. I know it may use a little more battery since its a live wallpaper, but hey, works for me.
Thanks for figuring that out!
Not only did it make my favorite wallpaper image scroll nicely, but uses much more of the original than my ex-Prime's cropping method did. Couldn't figure out why Infinity's screen didn't use more of it with its larger resolution, but the regular wallpaper method used much less than on the Prime, plus it didn't scroll. Now in horizontal it uses the entire height of original and almost the whole width, in vertical also uses same/entire height but of course much less of the width, and both scroll perfectly.
I don't think the ASUS MyFrame will use any more battery than if it was regular scrolling wallpaper. All it will do is refresh the same image every hour but that's negligible. Great solution to a major (if only cosmetic) issue!

Glad I could help! :victory:
This is amazing, thank you! I missed my scrolling wallpaper from the Prime
How do i make it set the whole picture without scrolling along with the android pages. I just want to use my picture i took as a solid WP.
Awesome! I really missed this feature
I've been using projectM's live wallpaper instead of the static wallpaper, but that uses more battery I'm sure. Now I can have low battery consumption females again!

Use Picspeed wallpaper for that, choose what picture you want to use, then on the dropdown menu set as and use picspeed to set the wallpaper.

[Request] Proper wallpaper app with auto-margins

Hello.
As you are aware, it is not possible to pick a wallpaper for the One S without having to fill in the left and right fields in the wallpaper picker, whereas only the center field of the actual screen resolution is used. Especially in the Jelly Bean update this is an issue, as that version doesn't even have wallpaper scrolling, therefore having to pick wallpapers with extra margin is a pain in the royal hindbody especially if the image in question isn't widescreen but rather portrait.
Is there an app to fix this behavior, e.g. to either allow for [screen resolution only] wallpaper cropping or an app that allows the same during setup, and automatically adds black borders to the left and right (since these won't be visible given the lack of scrolling wallpaper)?
I use this to apply wallpapers
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shirobakama.wallpaper&hl=en
Or you can change launcher to one that lets you change how you set a wallpaper.
