When I have screen rotation on my screen will rotate upside down and to landscape on both sides, but will not rotate back to the normal position. Is there a way to solve that or is my phone just messed up?

I am on stock ICS. I do not have the advanced option but I do have Settings->Display->Gyroscope calibration. I assume that is the same correct? I did that and the problem still persists.
I don't remember what ICS had in settings. But what I've done is disable 180*. So I have 0., 90* and 270* enabled. I see no reason for 180*.

I am assuming 0 is the normal position to hold the device in portrait mode and not landscape. What my issue is i can move it to 90, 180, and 270 with no problem but the device will not go back to 0. I have tried the calibration in ICS and no luck. I have tried a hard reset and same issue. I just can not figure out why it will not go back to 0.

Hi everyone I got a question here and this might be solved but I searched for a while with no answer
I really like to hold the g tab in bed and do some reading before going to sleep but you know how the auto rotation works and it keeps getting me the wrong orientation when lie in bed holding it at side. If I turn off the auto rotation, it only gives landscape. I understand this won't be a prob for a phone since it's portrait by default. But here for the tablet it's landscape Is there a widget or application can do the trick to lock the screen to portrait?
I am using VEGAn-Tab Beta3 and LaunderPro.
Thanks for everyone's hard working here and I love this place so much!
Look under Settings->display, there should be a setting to ignore the accelerometer. It says auto rotate, I believe.
He's looking for a solution that will make the default orientation Portrait, not landscape. Turning off auto-rotate locks the device to landscape orientation only.

I missed that and strange that they don't have an option to allow one of four orientations to be selected
Bump.
The contacts app appears to be landscape, no matter what.
Am I missing a setting for portrait phone & contact apps?
since some apps on the chacha have wrong rotation for some reason (e.g. peak.ar unfortunately switches the rotation modes) i wonder if it is possible to create a program that just fakes the rotation portrait/landscape for some programs.
the is.

What exactly does this do? This didn't have to seem any effect on anything.
All my programs that had wrong orientation did the same like usual.

Run it and select the type of orientation you want your programs to run in. Landscape is for the ChaCha display.

Nope, doesn't work. Landscape detection of programs is wrong as usual.
For example: Peak.ar is wrong and pictures taken with Pro Paint Camera are also rotated 90° wrong.
Whatever this program does it must be for something else.
Worked for me on previous versions of CM9, where the dialer would show up in portrait mode, so it might be something else that's hindering peak.ar. You could email the rotation locker dev asking him about this.
Ok this makes most programs opening in Landscape mode - however they still will "think" that they are in the wrong mode.
What really helps here is only something that fakes the values of the rotation sensor the other way round.

A stock HOX? You can't rotate the home screen by default in Sense. You need an app like Rotation Locker to force Sense to rotate. Are you having issues in any apps?

I can't rotate anyscreen. ex. gallery, browser. I try Rotation Locker. when ı chose landscape ı work, but chose auto only portrait mode can use. ı read somethings about this issue forums. this is issue maybe
You cant rotate anything? Maybe you just clicked auto-rotate off by accident. Go to settings, displays and gestures and see if auto-rotate is on

ı told i know settings, and auto rotate on. issue on g-sensör i think
Oh wow, you did say that :silly: If the issue is with the g-sensor maybe you can get a replacement
My problem solved but i dont know how i wait 1 week, then try calibrate G-sensor and it work. now my screen rotating :good:
For some reason my rotation has stopped working and i can't seem to fix it. So far I have:
Restored to stock .23
Cold booted 3 times
Factory reset on stock twice
Auto rotate enabled
Used ultimate rotation control from store and that works
Checked sensors and those seem to be functioning
Any help is appreciated.

You did pretty much everything that we could do. However, I have an idea, how about download this third party "Screen Orientation Control by eflow inc." app, once done open up notification and set it to portrait mode, then set it to landscape mode, then finally set it to off (auto) and see if it's working, if it stills not working, there's not much we can do except to return the device for repair/exchange.

Damn, I was hopeful, but it still won't rotate... It is weird too because at some point I was able to rotate, so I cant see it being a hardware issue, but I guess I will need to have ASUS repair/exchange.
Thank you for the suggestion though

My device "it's exoticaly" and can't be buyed from any place. And i have android 4.0.4 official rom(without mods and all other like this)is rooted.
If i rotate my device to portrait when i have enabled screen rotation it go on portrait and when i disable that option screen goes back in landscape.
Does is any line of code that make a device to be standard in landscape or portrait?
