So I just got a new EVO 3D. and I want to run stock on it but I.do want a custom theme ... Is this possible ?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D using xda app-developers app
Yes, in fact it's easy.
Google this: "evo 3d free themes"
(can't post direct link on forums)
Your first site will probably be mobile9 dot com.
There, either use the "send sms" option to get the link to your phone (if you live in the US), or simply open it in your phone's browser when downloading a theme.

Why does android not have Facebook with chat. Android has been out for some time now but still nothing.
There latest update is by far the best and performance wise it actually works better than previous versions.
I don't know if its possible but has someone tried to insert chat. There is so much rom development so there must be people capable of modifying this app.

The Facebook app isn't open source.
Is there no way to modify it. Everything is possible these days

I use Pairing. Works flawlessly and also ties all other chat programs in.

go! chat on the market works well
There's a version of bloo that has chat enabled that's floating around. It doesn't have the fancy new photoscroller or inbox features, but it DOES have chat if that's what you want.
Was supposed to say Palringo. It's free in the market and works awesome.

The AIM app works really well too. Can check FB updates from within the app as well.
if you use ninjamorph you can alter the .xml files in .apk's. can't someone create a .xml file that adds chat support? Or can't someone take the facebook app piece for piece via astro and add chat support and add an icon in one of the blanks on the main homepage? that seems do-able.
Well I was looking at oovoo and it says it's available for the HTC evo.. but I can't find it on the market I'm running cyangenmod 6.1... I can't find it anywhere on the internet.

Not sure what this oovoo is but i just did a search on market and its there.

Thanks you guys very much! =]
does this do video?
no workie
fresh evo:
can find oovoo on market.
can install.
can text chat/IM.
can voice chat.
can NOT video chat. (won't allow enable of front or rear camera.)
friends CM6 evo:
Vzw galaxy tab:
can NOT find on market.
(did not ask him to try installing posted apk.)
Vzw galaxy tab:
can NOT find on market.
can NOT install from apk.
I tried installing and it says it cannot be installed. Running cyanogenmod.
I have used oovoo desktop for years and it works great. I downloade the mobile version and I could get audio but no video when I logged into my account. The option to do a video call would not do anything.
Has anyone got this to work?
edit
read the fine print and it only works for audio now. Bummer.
I had the same issue with the .APK not installing on my evo as well!! I'm also running the Desire HD rom which could be a reason or maybe just because perhaps the evo isn't supported yet which is odd because the guy from oovoo on twitter said it was a month ago to me
um, so NO video on the EVO ?
Just as thread title says. At least on ayoteddy's gingerclone rom.
Just go find the apk, install, and enjoy!

How exactly do I install the apk? Download to my SD card then what?
Download any apk installer from the market. I use easy-installer. Make sure you delete any other versions of netflix before you install the modded apk.
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA App
I use Astro File Manager (free app). Dolphin browser (also free app) does great with downloads from the web. I then Open Astro, Use Astro's Search feature to search for "apk" or "netflix", then you can install the APK file from there.
Probably a very stupid question, but can't seem to access the thread for NetFlix App.

Okay, I'm quite sure this is an utterly stupid question, but I've dug around in the FAQ's and the general forums and can't see an answer so I'm going to risk being flamed as a noob to ask. When I try loading the link (above) for the Netflix app, I consistently get a message that I do not have permission to access the page, and that new users (with under 10 posts) aren't permitted to POST to the Devel forums.
I'm not trying to post - just to access the thread, and since it says "To encourage this new Users can read but not post in these forums." I assume that I should be able to view the thread. Am I missing something incredibly stupid and obvious, or doing something wrong, or is it just that you're unable to even view anything in the development-related forums until you have more than 10 posts?
Thanks to anyone who is kind enough to reply and open my eyes on this. If you really want to flame me for being a noob feel free, but it won't bother me any. I know my status, and my limits.
Adios!
Yeah, I hated their noob restrictions. I have uploaded the RED version to SugarSync (like DropBox)
If you want a different color, let me know and I will send it there, too. (using the same link, which links to the Folder, not the file)

Thanks ncmacasl, I appreciate it!
The red is fine, that's the version I was looking for anyways. I wouldn't have minded it as much if it were clear that it was part of the noob restrictions, but it seemed like the message was saying two different things so I wasn't sure.
Thanks for the help!

I assume he hacked it and added a virus or something. I changed it back, added more security to the file and removed him from membership. If you downloaded this 2nd version by mistake, please go back to the original version.
I downloaded Netflix-Rotation-Red-V1.3.apk & it worked fine for me .

This thread was originally in the Xperia PLAY Themes/apps section and was moved to the Android Apps Developement section, but after being moved it was not updating on the Xperia play thread (obviously... hence moved) however I wanted to bring it back to the XPlay section as well for others to use as this involves a modified build.prop for xperia plays.... anyway if you are interested in read below....
K, so I reflashed my phone and proceeded to repeat what I did to gain access to the G-Gee Market and Square Enix. It is not really easy to do.
Download this zip with all 3 G-Gee Markets, install each one but the one you want to really use is the GameBox installer.
After they are all installed download the modded build.prop I used (its from my Xperia PLAY, if on another phone just copy the SO-01C to all references of Build, Model, etc)
Modded Build.prop
Save as a text document, backup your old build.prop (system/build.prop) Then copy the modded build.prop to the same place as your original.
http://db.tt/1RQUKz4C
Next you need to download/install Market Enabler and set it to Japan - Docomo, reboot your phone.
Market Enabler:
http://db.tt/OWdfOWX6
After the above steps are done and you have rebooted. Open Market Enabler and set it again to DOCOCMO, then copy this link to your gmail and send it to your self.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ggee.gameboxam
Open the email and select the link and select Play Market to open, it should then be able to let you download the G-Gee ticket for the game from the Android Market, it should hten automatically open the GameBox installed and let you download nd install the King of Fighters.
I have done this same process 3 times now and each time it worked.
I've never heard of G-Gee, what's it for? Also what do I get from square Enix?

G-Gee is a Korean/Japanese Android Market.... G-Gee most notably has Digaea (free) and King of Fighters ($5)

good to see the thread back, it never should have been moved in the first place since it is specific to the Xperia Play and its gaming applications.
It was great to see Final Fantasy 1 finally start working, one theory I have is that it had an english mode already built into it.
Thanks for the guide, the games these markets come with english language options?
Sent from my R800a using XDA
It is a mixed bag. I have downloaded 8 games and half are straight Japanese... the other half are a mix of Japanese and English. The only game that allows multi languages is King of Fighters which supports Chinese (traditional & simplified), English, Japanese.

I started to consider that too... especially when the menus are a mix of English and Japanese it really makes you wonder..... its got to be in there. Anyways.... also after it was moved to android app development got people mostly with galaxy s2's asking why it wasn't working for them. Only 1 person with a Sammy phone got it to work. Everyone else's g-gee market kept saying "unspecified" for the type of phone they had. And the only thing I can think of is they have not gone through and changed their build.prop completely to look like a Japanese phone. So its being seen as a device with one brand and another model and its getting g confused......the g-gee market that is.....I'm always confused.....kidding. anyways it was my request to move this thread and I brought it back after all my messages saying its not working. I do not have any other phone but my xperia play and again my only clue to the unspecified issues are not modifying the build right. Any ideas?
Oh and its good to have it back here.. ......
Oh and another.... doubt its possible but would really love to have FF1 with full screen and xperia controls.... but wishful thinking probably. I have a better chance of being the president of Nova Scotia. Kidding.

And for those wondering ... just because I brought the thread back to here doesn't mean I'm abandoning the previous one I had moved..... it was my choice to have it moved so that makes me responsible to the other thread if someone has questions. Maybe I will post a link to the transferred one to here so it's all in one spot. Maybe....

When I click on a youtube video link from Talk or GMail, it opens in Chrome, my default browser, and I frequently get a "Cannot play this video" error. How can I tell my One X to have the Youtube app handle youtube video links?
I'm rooted, unlocked on 1.85.502.3 710RD.
Thanks!
There's a build.prop edit that allows this. The reason why it opens in the browser and not the app is because HTC had to remove that functionality in order to bypass Apple's patent. If I wasn't on my phone I'd link you to it but in the meantime I'm sure if you did a search you could find it. Or someone else will post it for you. Ooorrrrrrr you could flash CleanROM because it kicks ass.

I decided to just install CleanROM, so far fixes this issue and seems worth it.
