Sorry if this has already been answered, but I couldn't find anything
I have rooted my tf300t, but not unlocked. I know that I can still unlock after the JB update, but is it still possible to install custom recoveries and roms? I don't want to update if there's a risk that I'll be stuck with it.
There is Hydro which is a stock based rom and it just basically makes it feel faster.

I realise that custom roms are available, but does the install process still work after updating to jellybean?
you have to flash the old stockrom first. This will install the old bootloader and Recovery. Than flash the ICS Recovery and you are good to go on all the old Customs.

If you have upgraded to jb then yes you can install recoveries and Roms but you want to be sure to install those that match jb. For example, if you want to flash cwm recovery, be sure to flash v6.0.1.2, not v5. If you try to install v5, you might brick your tablet. When you access a ROM or recovery post in the Dev section, it should say which it was designed for.

Currently my TF300T is unlocked, rooted, ICS TWRP 2.3.1, nvflash blob files created (copies made and moved elsewhere) with AndroidRoot.mobi custom bootloader. I'm running stock ICS v9.4.3.17 and never ran any OTA's (one is downloaded/pending for install, but doesn't seem to do anything - likely because I'm unlocked?).
It's been recommended to just flash the JB bootloader & use a custom JB ROM rather than updating fully to JB (was said there are or had been, issues flashing the full JB from ASUS' website). With the nvflash blobs, I should be able to go back to ICS so I'd rather do a full update if possible. An earlier post [Q] Upgrade to JB bootloader from Unlocked ICS BL? asked the same but I need clarification on the answer (plus making sure - they were running ICS stock bootloader, not the custom from AndroidRoot like me):

If reading right, in fastboot mode first flash ICS TWRP (I ignore as I already have it), then from TWRP install the 1st JB Stock ROM zip, reboot into fastboot mode, flash TWRP for JB (or should I use nvflash?), and lastly, reboot into TWRP and install the latest ASUS stock ROM zip (v10.4.2.18).
Figuring my steps are correct, what version from ASUS is considered the 1st ROM? Currently only v10.4.2.17 and v10.4.2.18 are available. Also wondering why the need to flash an earlier version of JB and then the most current? And lastly, have others in same situation done this successfully or encountered any issues I should be aware of?
I did this a short time ago to go from BB6 on ICS bootloaded to BB6 on JB. All I did was dropped back to stock ICS, upgraded TWRP, then drop the unzipped zip of the latest ASUS release. This got me stock JB on JB bootloaded. I then flashed the next BB6 version and went on my way.
The only painful part was that the post called for moving the blob to a specific folder and creating a command file. None of that worked for me. But leaving the unzipped zip file in the root of the SD card and rebooting worked flawlessly.

Thanks! So you were going from another set of instructions but ended up just flashed twrp-jb and installed the unzipped zip of Asus JB release via TWRP (I left out the revert to ICS part since I'm already there)? And do you have nvflash installed? No issue running the JB version of TWRP prior to upgrading to JB (had thought bootloader or ... would have an issue with it)? Would seem like order should be reversed, I may not be understanding it all fully!
Had come across various instructions but none seemed to fit being unlocked/rooted/nvflash/... and wasn't sure if would require different steps. Again thanks.

I think you're right... I was on BB6 w/ICS bootloader (NVflashed, though I don't think it matters) and had to roll back to ASUS ICS ROM first, then rooted, then upgraded to ASUS JB ROM, and then it goes blurry. Not sure if I upgraded TWRP or rooted stock JB at this point.
In any case, I followed the "update to JB" thread to a tee, and all went well except for the step regarding the actual JB update.

First I want to address your possible OTA. Processing requires stock recovery on your tablet. Having Twrp or CWM means the update will not process.
When you flash a complete stock rom from fastboot, Twrp, or CWM you are flashing stock recovery as it is included in the blob.
Most versions of Asus firmware can be found here! Don't forget to look at the second post as It includes the ICS stuff and older JB.
The first version of JB was to my knowledge JB 10.4.2.9.
Sorry, I forgot why flash first version of JB.

Thanks for the info. To add to your one comment (for others that may come across this looking for add'l info), flashing a full stock rom will overwrite any custom recovery previously in place. TWRP (using the appropriate version for your firmware) or CWM will need to be reflashed again...
Checking, it does appear v10.4.2.9 is the first version of JB on the TF300T.
I've come across at least one or more posts/guides that mention ICS v9.4.3.30 should be installed before updating to JB - one being: [GUIDE]Upgrade your TF300t to Jellybean, recovery, root & remove bloatware[Noobproof]. I'm wondering if it's because that method updates to JB using the dlpkgfile (not sure what format it is)?
My take is doing the additional flash to v9.4.3.30 first can't hurt anything, but quite possibly unnecessary here? Any other thoughts or words of warnings from anyone? Thanks!

I already flash 4.1.1 via OTA and use some bloody init.d script for R/W system, that doesnt work and gives me reboot after I enter into supersu app.
My question is... how can i flash 4.1.1 again (i wanna clean system, just for better feeling.) If Im using TWRP recovery? Because, ota file doesnt contain stock recovery as RUU does and I didnt find any ruu for 4.1.1 CID_032 | villec2.
Or, can I flash OTA update as update.zip in TWRP recovery?

Step 1: relock the bootloader (check out some xda forums). This is a pretty easy process.
Step 2: find your desired stock jb online.
Step 3: connect your phone to the pc (make sure you have the htc drivers installed).
Step 4: run the RUU or stock file as an exe. An installation guide will follow, just follow it through.
It should work after this!

Thanks, but I think there's misunderstanding. I know how to use adb - relock, etc.
My point is, that I have android 4.1.1 (updated via OTA) and I wanna re-flash this with same android - 4.1.1 (due to I've installed a script that doesnt work - Easy_InitD_1.1.zip... and makes me couple of reboots. And I would prefer to have a clean rom, without any "possible future" problems.
Damn, I think Im getting worse, isn't this true? =D
edit: bloody RUU for JB would solve my problem, but it doesnt exist, yet.

I've found a link to a custom ROM using JB 4.1.1, you can look into that?

Also you can instead remove TWRP (if you know how) and instead install CWM (clockworkmod).
I found CWM to work better than TWRP.
I myself am using CyanogenMod 10.1, very nice and clean, works perfectly ad has Android 4.2.1
That might also be an option if you want a clean ROM. ^^

The fact is that there is no original JB RUU that can be pushed to phones already after JB OTA, which updated their phone to custom ROM and want's to go back to stock now.
Running an ICS RUU will do no good since it will fail based on lower Hboot version.
My recommendation, therefore, is to use as close to stock JB ROM like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076855.
I will choose to go back to TrickDroid 9.1 if I had to.
Another option if no RUU is available is to get a nandroid done on the JB OTA just after flashing and rooting. And restore it.

Since I'm facing the same problem, and there is no RUU for now, how and where to get a JB OTA nandroid... Haven't seen any around.

I had the same problem and no stock jb nandroid to go back to. Luckily I kept ics nandroid in my laptop, restore that and run OTA jb update again.
There is another option. Get Zenrom ICS, check for updates, download jb, install and then do factory reset. Then root it ( superuser, busybox, modified boot.img), make system back up and keep it in pc. Then you have it safe and you can go back to it if you need full stock jb.

Yes, you should be. Download zenrom, reboot recovery, wipe everything a few times, flash zenrom, set it up, then recovery, flash STOCK RECOVERY ( very important), prompt for update, download, install, set up, ( you may get a few errors here and there so just do factory reset in setting-->factory reset). Then flash twrp, flash superuser, backup.

Hello, my HTC One S was fine on the stock things, but I decided to root it and add a custom ROM.
Bad idea.
I can't install Linux, so I can't downgrade the bootloader, and I can't find any ROMs where wifi will work without doing so. How can I revert to full stock, or is there a ROM where wifi works on hboot version 1.14?

I no longer need to downgrade to get the WiFi thanks to this great post here: WiFi Fix

There's a guide somewhere in here how to revert to stock. I used it and worked perfectly. You should be able to find it using the search .
Basically the procedure goes like this:
1. Install zenROM (it's in the dev section).
2. Install stock recovery (also posted here in several threads)
3. Boot the phone into zenROM and look for OTA updates. ZenROM can find and install official updates.
4. Once updates are ready, you should be running stock JB rom.
5. Relock bootloader, or root or whatever. Now you are on the stock rom.
Of course this requires that there is a JB update available for your CID.

Usually you'll find answers to your problems in the according rom section as you're not the only one with it.
But as you are pretty new here:
1. You can use Linux livecd for downgrading. More here. The process isn't that easy so and you'll need to be patient and careful. (I did that couple of times on my device. The first time it was really worse also I was/am not new to Linux).
2. 1.14 means you have been on ICS only so far. So any ICS rom should work for you. If there is still trouble with wifi, search for answers in that rom section. I remember some guys editing a file for enabling/boosting wifi. As I'm not concerned by this, I have no links.
3. If you'd like to move to JB roms search for 'flashing wifi partitions' as long as you want to keep 1.14. If flashing the OTA update for JB your bootloader version will be 2.15 and the according wifi partitions will be working as well. For both, ICS and JB.
Substantially there will be no real differences for you between 1.14 and 2.15 as only with 1.06 and 1.09 you don't need to flash kernels via fastboot mode.

Hey guys, I just unlocked and flashed ROM on my LG Optimus G phone and looking to do the same with the TFT300T.
I did read some of the stickies, and there are various ways of doing this.
Anyone recently unlock, root, and install ROM on your TF300T? Which directions did you take? I am looking for the simplest and user friendly solutions. Any tips are much appreciated.

What rom/ android version are you currently running?
I am on 4.2.1
First off you need to go to Asus support site and download the v8 unlock apk & run it (unlocking your bootloader).
Then have a good read here to learn how to flash the compatible TWRP custom recovery (2.4.4.0), the root your device.
As of know I don't know about any custom roms that will boot with the newest bootloader. Correct me if I'm wrong here.
Do have a good read though, and read it again - and make sure you understand it and then read some again. Then proceed by following the steps to the letter.

No. If you updated to 4.2.1 you need to use the v8 apk.

Not that I'm aware of at this point. The new bootloader uses a different partition layout than the "older" 4.1 ones, so it will soft brick (as will flashing the wrong recovery, you'll want the latest twrp 2.4.4.0)

- Unlock your device using the Asus supplied APK. Search around the forum for the official unlocking app.
- Install a custom recovery such as TWRP. Follow the instructions in the TWRP thread (website)
- Copy over the ROM zip to your Internal Storage or your microsd card
- Boot into recovery and simply install the ROM. This ROM will NOT wipe your current ROM settings
- Enjoy!

The stock ROM is uploading in the JB 4.2.1 subfolder of the main download folder on the first page..
Be warned that once you do this... you will not be able to simply restore your backup and go back to 4.1.1. You will need to flash the JB bootloader ( think craig gomez has a package for it) and repartition your tablet. So be ready to STAY on 4.2.1
Instructions:
1. Make a full backup of your internal storage and copy it over to your computer after. Do a "nandroid" or "backup" in TWRP and copy the resulting folder/files to your computer (if you want a backup...)
2. Download and copy the Energy_JB_4.2.1_Partitions.zip to your tab.
3. Reboot into recovery and flash the above mentioned file. Reboot.
4. Wait while the blue line at the bottom is doing its thing. At the top you should see a "signature match" message. This WILL WIPE YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE. Which is why I recommend a backup!
5. At this point the tablet will NOT boot. You need to manually reboot and get back into recovery. Hold power and volume down and choose "RCK".
6. Either using an sdcard or adb, copy over the actual ROM zip Energy.TF201.JB.03.15.2013.STOCK.zip and flash it! Reboot... and... Enjoy.

Sbdags is working on it and has made some great progress. He's got it figured out where we are gonna be able to flash the bootloader, kernel, and custom recovery all at one time. From what I've read, I have a feeling a release is coming pretty soon.
Just keep up with the thread and you'll be good to go.

I tried several ROMs and this was the only one I was able to get to work.

I have been having lag issues since the OTA upgrade to 4.2.1 and figured putting a custom ROM on the TF300T might help things out. Glad I came in here. I had unlocked it via the ASUS website: http://www.service.asus.com/#!downloads/c1wax
So what else can u do with unlock?
