There's this bright green line down my screen.. What is this...
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Its a portal, you have to have a very special set of stylist's to open it or if your fingers are real sharp sometimes pinch open it....
Sounds like a bad screen, did you drop it?
Hahahah Nope I just turned it on and there was this green light down vertically from top to bottom. I tried restarting but it's still there..
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Seems like it's going down from that led light circle down..
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Care to post a screenshot?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I tried but the screen shot won't capture this green light. Does that mean it's an issue with my screen?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Yes its your screen, get it replaced.

Would Verizon give me a completely new phone?? Even if I don't have insurance? And the phone is still fully functional?

they might not if you don't have insurance, but you never know, if you can prove its a factory defect they may consider an exception
They will next day air you a replacement phone, should fall under the manufacture warranty as already said.
Do you possibly know the proper procedure in doing this??

It went away by itself!!

I would unroot and relock bootloader and reset the flash counter before I send it back. You'll be getting a refurbished one. If it was under 14 days of when you got your phone you can ask them to give you a new phone on the spot in stores.

Can someone help. My wife's skyrocket was in her bag then started to heat up and the screen was blank wounldnt do anything so we pulled the battery. Now it won't turn on. Tried pulling battery and putting it back in nothing. I tried holding the volume down and the menu + power still nothing

Has it been modified? Rooted?

There is a remote possibility of something internally frying.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727
Other possibilities... defective battery. Try another battery to see if you can boot normally or into recovery. Or, perhaps battery is too low to boot... have you tried to boot via usb power?
I tried putting my battery in her phone nothing. Her phone is rooted but its stock. She been using her phone since January with no problem. I tried USB charger also. And I also tried using jig but nothing I though maybe the jig was defective but I plug in my phone and it work

When I got the phone 5 days ago the home button was raised a good bit and it felt comfortable. I however noticed that it has since become almost flush with the screen. Is it meant to do this? Do I have a faulty phone and if so should I exchange it? It felt much better raised.

Mine sits just about flush with the same phone. Unsure if that's how it's supposed to be but I like it better than raised. I don't remember if it was raised when I got it tbh

Mines almost flush with the screen however I don't remember what is was like when I got it. I've had it for almost a week now.

I went to the store today and the ones on display were practically flush as well. However I exanged my phone anyway just in case this actually is a defect. Thanks for the help everyone.

I want to trade my GS3 for a Note 2
I currently have a white Verizon Galaxy S3 and I like the look of the AT&T Red one better. I'd rather not switch carriers over a color choice of a cell phone. Is it possible to do a board swap and would the Verizon board work perfectly in the new AT&T phone exterior?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
If your referring to the m/o board that would be pretty hard. You could just swap the glass panel. It'll fit either way
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Normally swapping the motherboard is fairly easy. I havent taken apart a Galaxy S3 yet. Is it easy just to swap the glass panel part and is it much simpler to just do that?

Lol no. That involves breaking the glass if memory serves me right. Replacing the mother board should be much easier. I do not see why it wouldn't work. Try and find out.

First I'll have to acquire some broken test devices but people think they're holding gold when they have a destroyed device. It's troublesome
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
What? Why would you have to break the panel? Your memory must be wrong sorry
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I'm just wondering if the board swap would be possible.. I do have a use for the AT&T phone afterward. So the board swap would be optimal if possible.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
99% chance it'll work,

The s3 is easy to take apart. I think this is a pop and swap device. Would be cost and time effective to get a red screen and a back cover and swap your internals into it.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Oh.. I've got one of those. I work at a Verizon store. Haha, I've learned that this is a three part screen. Is it challenging to separate the digitizer from the glass? If so I'll just get a combo.
Sent from my SCH-I535
I didn't think it was but after seeing this, I don't think I'd want to do it. I'd do it if I had to but not for a color swap I don't think...

It could have fallen victim to the infamous "sudden death" syndrome. If so, it should be replaceable under warranty. Call/visit verizon to find out.

Pretty sure the screen of death syndrome was limited to phones with the exynos processor.... We're not effected.

From what the issue seems to be with these completely dying, why wouldnt they replace it? Its toast so unless they spend all the time and tear it apart to try and fix it, they would just send him a new one, or go into Verizon (if you got it through them) and have them do it
