You will have to flash the "boot.img" file which is in the rom's zip.
Put your phone in bootloader, connect it to PC and you should see FASTBOOT USB
Then put the boot.img file in your fastboot/adb directory, open the command prompt window there and type the following command
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Wipe cache and dalvik/cache too...
Then reboot your phone and enjoy.

ok so I started from scratch and wiped everything. I installed the pacman zip from sd card, installed Gapps, and everything went fine. So since there isnt a way to get back into bootloader from the recovery I just rebooted the phone and since it was stuck on the HTC screen I had to do a hard reset to get back into bootloader. I then followed your instructions and flashed the boot.img and everything went fine, it said ok in the command prompt, I then went back into recovery and I wiped cache and dalvik cache and then rebooted. And now instead of just being stuck on the HTC screen, it is now in a boot loop with the HTC screen, just restarts and shows HTC, restarts and show HTC, restarts..etc..soooo not sure what to do now, I feel like I followed the instructions fine, but yet it still isnt working. ugh.. I just must be cursed or something.. Thank you again for the help. p.s. random question, do I need to be s-off? cuz I keep reading about s-off and s-on stuff, but ive not read anything about my phone needing to be s-off in order to flash these roms.
So now im really F***ed.. I tried wiping everything again so I could just restore my stock system that I backed up with nandroid while I waited for more help on how to solve this problem, and now its still stuck in the same f****ing bootloop and wont even restore my backup!! So now I dont even have a goddam phone! WTF!?!?! PLEASE HELP!
Well now I think Im really f***ed beyond my comprehension. Unless someone out there can do some miracle work, I think ive bricked my phone. While I was in the bootloader trying to fix the problem I posted in the post above this one, I accidentally pressed the volume down button one to many times and hit the Factory reset button instead of the recovery button, and now every time I try to wipe, or try to restore my nandroid it says "error mounting sdcard". So now even if i wasnt in the bootloop im in, I couldnt even restore my phone cuz apparently my sdcard wont mount anymore.. FML

I've read somewhere in this forum that it is IMPOSSIBLE to brick this phone and fortunately, that might be true coz I've did too many things which I have NO idea about
It's just a soft brick.
I've faced the "error mounting sdcard"
Go to Recovery, and then in advanced options or somewhere (if you are using clockworkmod recovery) you will find mounts and storage option.
Scroll down and select Format sdcard option.
Then connect it to your PC.
In recovery, select the mount sdcard/USB storage option.
You will find a new disk drive in your PC. You can open it and transfer a new rom (if you have problem with adb/fastboot or flashing boot.img try with DARK S JELLY ROM LINK since for it you don't have to flash boot.img).
If you can't open the New Disk drive in your PC, right click and select format it.
Now, you can access your sdcard. Transfer the stuff and go back to recovery to flash it. Next time, clean cache and dalvik cache after flashing the rom and not after flashing the boot.img. Not sure but it might make a difference.

No, you don't have to be S-OFF to flash these roms. You just need to be rooted.

And try this All-in-One toolkit.
LINK
Install the HTC drivers on your PC if you haven't already.
After flashing a ROM in recovery, connect phone to PC, open this toolkit and select "Boot into Bootlader" option in the 'Commands' menu and it will put your phone into bootlader... then 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
:good:
so I found the "mounts and storage" menu in recovery, and I tried pressing "format /sdcard" and it said "Formatting /sdcard... error mounting /sdcard! skipping format... Done."
If I plug in my phone and select "mount USB storage" a window pops up and it says "you need to format the disk in drive F: before you can use it." and gives me an option to format disk. Im really not sure if thats what I need to do? or even what I can do at this point.

Flash stock recovery
In Bootloader select Clear Storage
Then you can Flash your TWRP or CWM and the sd card should be able to mount again.
So I downloaded a stock recovery, flashed that, then hit clear storage and my phone restart and showed a weird image of like a phone with 2 revolving arrows above it. and then i went back into bootloader, went into fastboot, and re flashed CWM. I then went to recovery and tried to mount the sd card and still same error as above. So I just decided to go to "mount usb storage" and then format the sd card from the window that popped up, (I have nothing on there really anyway, I copied my nandroid to my comp and that was really the only important thing on there). and now the sd card can mount, there just isnt anything on it now. so back to the original problem now.. I tried installing cyanogenmod while the dark jelly downloaded. I deleted the asserts with that, it installed fine. but back to bootloop. Dark jelly downloaded, in installed it, it went throught the whole install setup and everything, said it installed fine, but back to bootloop. It seems like im just going to be forever stuck in this goddam bootloop...
Well, this is something I never came across. But, you can't say you are bricked as long as you have access to fastboot and recovery. Ask some senior members, they might be able to help you

Well, try this. Try formatting everything in the recovery, system files, devlog, cahce, and all.... Including sdcard. Then mount usb storage and copy ROM and start afresh. May be some system file is obstructing your boot. This formatting will not wipe your revovery or fastboot, dont worry.

I formatted everything, cache, data, sdcard, system, devlog, did a full wipe, wiped cache, wiped dalvik, put dark jelly on sdcard, installed, back to bootloop :'( How do I go about talking to a senior member? I tried PM'ing one a couple weeks ago and havent heard anything back. Is there someone you would reccommend? Thank you for trying to help me btw, I appreciate your efforts

That's your problem,(the original bootloop) you need to update your firmware. Your hboot will go from 1.14 to 2.15. So look into finding a Jellybean RUU.exe (if your particular CID # has this update) or Run your older RUU.exe and go to settings and update it OTA.
http://androidforums.com/one-s-all-things-root/691874-guide-how-run-ruu-your-htc-one-s.html
or the Non RUU way to update the firmware.

There are two versions of One S-
One S Ville(S4) and One S Ville C2(S3)
Go to One S C2 Android development section and try ROMs from there. Don't flash S4 ROMs on S3 version.

did you get to fix this problem am kind of in the same boat
Ok so I am SOOOOO close!! I updated my RUU to the 2.15 and everything went fine. After everything was done, I tried flashing the dark jelly s ROM and it actually got past the HTC boot screen and went to the cyanogenmod boot animation, but then after a few seconds it crashed and went back into bootloop. So I wiped everything again, and just tried flashing CM 10.1 ROM and that actually WORKED!!! It booted up and finally turned back into a phone!! YAY!! BUT.. for some reason there was no Wifi, its not that it just wouldnt connect, it actually wouldnt turn on at all like it wasnt even available or something. So, thinking that everything was solved and fixed, I booted back into recovery and wiped everything to try and flash the very original ROM that gave me my original problem.. the Pacman ROM.. So I flashed the ROM and Gapps, then booted back into bootloader and flashed the boot.img cuz thats what the install instructions (and Chins6509) told me to I needed to do for this ROM. And unfortunately doing this put me right back into bootloop So I tried wiping everything and re-flashing the CM ROM that actually worked, and Im still stuck in this goddamn bootloop and cant figure out how to get out of it again. I just dont understand what the hell it is about this Pacman ROM and this boot.img that keeps screwing everything up. IM SO CLOSE TO GETTING THIS THING FIGURED OUT!!

I have HTC ONE X. I am trying to flash pacman 4.3 build/4.4 alpha ROM. But everytym i flash these ROM I stuck at pacman logo screen. Though i had gone through standard procedure of flashing lyk wiping cache and dalvik. Dont know what's the problem is plzz help. I have HBOOT 1.72, TWRP 2.7.0
Hey guys, I sold my One M8 to my little brother's friend a few months ago. It's Unlocked, S=Off, and SuperCID with the following:
HBOOT = 3.16.0.0000
RADIO = 0.56.20.0321
OpenDSP - V38.2.2-00542-M8974.0311
OS-
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Apr 1 2014,00:26:53.0
TWRP V2.7.0.2
Since he's had it, he says he's only flashed Liquidsmooth, MIUI, and the stock rom. He swears the phone was running great for the past month or so on the stock rom. According to him, he hasn't flashed anything in at least a month. Last night, he plugged it up like usualand woke up to the phone completely powered off. When he booted it, it boots normally and soon after unlocking it, it reboots. This has been the case since I received it back from him (to fix). It's stuck in a bootloop that I cannot fix. Shortly after booting the rom (stock), it will reboot.
What I've tried:
Flashing a new rom in TWRP.
Wiping everything in TWRP (including system w/ and w/o the system partition mounted)
Fixing permissions in TWRP
Flashing SuperSu in TWRP (don't ask why, Googled it and someone said it fixed theirs)
All of this just continues to reboot to the same stock rom that it was already on. Shortly after booting, it would reboot as if I'd made no changes, wipes, etc.
So I figured I'd update TWRP. I downloaded TWRP_Recovery_2.8.2.1_M8_CPTB.img and flashed it in fastboot (without using fastboot oem rebootRUU) It was successful (or so it seemed). When I reboot recovery it still shows 2.7.0.2. So I downloaded ruuM8_TWRP_2_7.zip, tried to flash it from fastboot but when I "Fastboot oem rebootRUU" it jumps back to the bootloop so I put it on the ext_sdcard and renamed it to 0P6BIMG.zip. Hboot flashed it successfully but still the version didn't change.
So after all has failed, let's flash the stock RUU......So I grabbed this RUU - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727831, renamed it to 0P6BIMG.zip and put in on the external sdcard (remember fastboot just kicks me into a bootloop when I fastboot oem rebootRUU). Using the sd card method, It took forever to flash the system partition, extracting and installing about a half dozen times. Eventually everything passed and it prompted me to press power up to reboot. AND IT BOOTS BACK TO THE SAME LOCK SCREEN.....AND REBOOTS AFTER A FEW SECONDS. I've flashed the stock RUU several times now with the same results. It's as if this phone can't flash anything although it acts as if it flashes successfully.
Anybody have any experience with this? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Sounds like emmc is fried. Send it in for repair.

Had one of these where the radio died. Did the same exact thing. Kmsg revealed an attempt to start the radio and the subsequent failure. I got it back to locked (not relocked) and s-on and opted for a replacement from HTC.
I can't relock it. I can't even overwrite TWRP.
