nope once you've taken the update you get a new HBOOT and it's impossible to downgrade after that.
I thought you could do a factory reset and it would return you to 1.85?

Nope. A factory reset just clears all user data. You'll end up with a fresh version of whatever software your phone is running at the time. Unfortunately there is no going back from 2.20 at the moment.

I heard that you can down grade the boot to 1.06 from 1.14 so is there any way to do that?

Linux is absolutely required. Load it on a flash drive and boot into it. Then follow the instructions.

Just to clarify, this downgrade will fix the issues like loss of 4g and wifi on most ROMs other than trickdroid 7 correct? That's the only reason in doing this downgrade

I've never run into this problem since I don't use Sense based roms. So I honestly don't fully understand that issue. So my guess is that downgrading won't directly fix your problem but it will allow you to move to the next step in the fix.
I would bet that you need to flash something that your current hboot won't allow you or you need to run an older RUU. To do either of those you would need to downgrade your hboot.
Hi, I've read and searched about rooting or unlocking a refurbished phone should be okay to do, i just want to know for sure if I will be okay. My one x is refurbished and would like to know if I can install viper Rom with no troubles, will I be able to unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery? I just want to be safe

Re: Root question
Depends if you get an att refurbished phone with 3.18 update installed. If you did you can't root.

Well I miss lead on my title, I'll change that in a minute, yes I'm on 3.18 and would that hinder me from unlocking bootloader?

Is it an AT&T phone?
If so, you can't unlock the bootloader, and thusly you cannot root.
Sent from my HTC One XL
Yeah :/ it's at&t lol so I guess I'll have to wait to do this. But if and when I do, should I run into any problems being that I now own a Refurbished phone?

The fact that it's refurbished has no bearing over whether or not it's rootable.
The main point of the question was if I should or shouldn't... If they didn't reset the bootloader or main circuit board I can end up with another brick. That's what I'm trying to avoid this time

Go here, get the proper ruu exe file for your carrier, plug in your fun, run the exe. Do not download a zip. Download an exe

Doesn't even need to be the latest. Just make sure it's an exe for your carrier. Plug your phone in, run the exe. If that sounds too simple, it's because it is.

I had a problem that is described in the following :
UNFORTUNATELY THE PROCESS COM.ANDROID.PHONE HAS STOPED
Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
to fix this problem I re-root the device and re installed the Android Revulotion HD 22 ROM and BOOT.img.
The device worked fine for about an hour but then the messages popped up again and then the phone turned off by itself.
I managed to get the phone up back but it's stuck one the HTC quietly brilliant logo.
I described the whole problem from the begining cuz' I thought it's connected somehow.
Thank you for your help !
Do you have an evita? Sounds like you have an endeavor. Check in your bootloader.
