Verizon Galaxy SIII stock ROM? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So I want to return my Verizon SIII to the store and get a replacement.
I'm trying to follow this video (below) but for the life of me I cant find the Verizon stock Rom.
It seems like a straight shoot video .. What do you guys think? most important.. anyone have the verizon stock ROM?
http://youtu.be/vVVHRyDb4IQ?hd=1

Follow section 6, use the G1 rom and then just OTA to the most current, or not. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709

lol thanks.. I guess I'm in the learning mode.. not sure if its a soft/ hard brick but it didnt work.
when I reboot now the screen stays black and a blue led light stays on at the top left corner. If I click home / upper vol/ power I have android recovery system but hell.. have no clue as what to do from here..

In order to access Odin, you need to press the power button, volume DOWN, and the home button. Try it again.

You're supposed to follow the guide that the fellow above linked to. Section 6 of that guide is very simple to follow. It's on the first page, in the first post. Once you press volume down, home and power buttons you press volume up to go into download mode and use Odin (on your computer) to flash the stock rom.

The files you need from that guide are:
1) Odin
2) Samsung Driver
3) VRALF2 4.0.4, all saved to your computer.
Just follow the directions afterward. That's essentially all you need and the guide is the best way to return you to stock.

well I got it up and running . used super user and clicked unroot. now I'm not sure if its fully stock. this is what i have ..

Lol looks like you're running a newer firmware than what's officially available from Verizon. You've installed the JB leaked stock firmware whereas ICS is what it's supposed to have. The VRALF2 4.0.4 file I told you to download is what's officially stock.
Did you use Odin to install this? If so, just use the VRALF2 file and you're fine.

Once you download it, it should already end with ".tar" or ".tar.md5" You do not unzip the file. The next step is to launch Odin and follow those same steps from the guide.

You might have a bad download. You should download again.
Also you should have odin v3.07 I believe.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

I believe that's because of the: "(1)" just before the ".tar.md5" If you remove (1) from the file name then I'm sure it will verify the md5 in that same box and allow you to go on.
I'm downloading it now to verify the name.

same thing.. nothing. grrrr.. is there anywhere else I can get this file?

This has been happening to me as well and it started wen i flashed Valhalla. But it only happened wen i restore my data either thru CWM or TB. I think its one of my apps that cause the problem but i can't figure which one. :/

Yes. It happens with any other ROMs.
First time when I was flashing the odin, I used kc1.
Do I have to one click method instead of odin?
Then would my phone be finend and also can I use the black market & titanum back up too?
I would backup my sdcard, reboot to recovery and wipe everything. Wipe your sdcard (that you backed up). Pull the battery and oneclick sms kj6.
All the wiping is paranoia, but good to make sure. Pull the battery after the pink t-moble screen starts and flash again with bootloaders. This insures param.lfs is right.
You should be good after that to go flash some sgs4g cwm package. I would suggest something with the newer 5.0.2.7 recovery so backup/restore works.

None of those, only download roms/software that's for the SGH-T959V, which means whatever is in these forums. If you go into another forum you're just asking to brick your phone.

EZ-unlock is an app. You run it while the device is booted.
Does the device boot up or it stops at that screen saying not supported.
If you can't boot, then you will want to ODIN back to stock. To get into Odin mode, pull your battery and put back in and then I believe it is volume up and power button, You will need to get the stock Rom to run in Odin. You can probably find this in the dev section.
If you can boot into the Rom, then you should not have to Odin.

Hi, can somebody please help me?
I tried to use Odin to return from a custom rom to a stock rom and after following the instructions to do so, something happened and now im getting the following:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I727
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES (1: counts)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
firmare upgrade encountered an issue.
Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again
and now my phone only boots to this message
.
I am using ODIN 1.85 and it seams like it can read my phone but gets stuck on <ID:0/004>Setup Connection...
I was following this instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398
I have read similar theads but found that they get CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO and CURRENT BINARY:STOCK, tried to follow those instructions but im guessing its not working because its not the same issue

Hey guys, I dont have the exact problem, but i do think my skyrocket i727 is also soft bricked. Ive been researching allot since i dont know too much, and i dont wanna risk my phone dying on me. Any help will be greatly appreciated. While at work (currently deployed, so i can't go into an AT&T store) i used my friends charger to charge my phone. Ok, i put it were all the sockets are, that i always use and have not had any issues with. And it didnt charge, so i plugged it into my friends laptop. I see on my phone the blinking battery, and continue to use my gtalk. Had to step out to work, disconnected the charger and continued on with my day. A few hours later i took my phone out and noticed it kept on vibrating while the screen was black. Took the battery off put it back and nothing. Then took the battery out for like 2 3 hours, and again nothing. It will jus go to the 1st samsung logo, then to the second and go black, then vibrates every other second. I'm going crazy because i dont have a memory card and am soo terrified of losing my pictures and videos. I have read and have had the guys i work with help me, and one friend downloaded the Odis program, but before i use it, i just want to make sure theres nothing else I can do. Again ive read the steps, understand them, but will it delete my pictures?? I apoligize for the length of my thread, just trying to give as much detail as possible. I have never tried to modify my phone, so its still in its original form. Please help. Thank you in advance. Have agreat day

[Q] {q} HELP! MORON ATTACK! This thing is like a soap opera

So, yesterday, I had a perfectly functioning, stock 4.1.1/rooted unit.
Got a little frisky and decided to try out Liquid Smooth. Flashed that through recovery (it's a 4.2.1 Beta 2) but forgot to do the bootlocker.
The latest LS has a Bluetooth sound problem that's pretty bad. So, I thought I'd switch over to CM10.1, their 4.2.1 effort.
Well, without the bootlocker in place, you can pretty much guess how that worked out.
So now, I've odin'ed a variety of roms and so forth; no clue what happened to my backup.
My main focus has been what I call the dunce-cap routine, of going back to stock and starting over.
The problem? I did that and now I'm stuck in roaming mode and my calls don't work.
I'm dead without this phone (considering how long I've been working on this, since 8 pm or so yesterday except for a couple of hours of sleep, I might be dead, period.) and I've got to have one functioning. It's so bad that I'm considering just trashing it and buying another one, even thought THAT would hurt.
Almost everything I try winds up either getting the yellow triangle or the odin fail.
Now, thanks to some help I've gotten here that focused me into understanding this total screw up is MY fault completely, I believe I know what has to be done.
The plan was to go back to stock, root and DO THE DAMNED BOOTLOCKER, then go back into CM10.1 and make some changes in subscribing to CDMA or something (don't have that in front of me this second) to get the phone part of the phone operational but I can't get there.
In the guide here I have completed step 1, flashing the factory image.
The next step is blowing me up. I have used the file I have for the Recovery: CWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5.tar, maybe 4 times.
NOW when I try it, odin fails and the phone tells me "secure check fail : recovery."
And help would be appreciated. Before I feed this thing to my Doberman Cavalier Spaniel. Or something.
Have you tried Odin with a completely stock rom?

Yup. Completely stock rom is installed. The next step was installing the recovery... and using a file that I had used before, that's where I'm running into the problem of the secure check fail.
That very file HAS worked before, 3 or 4 times with no problem.
Why does the file end in ".tar.md5.tar"? It's supposed to end in ".tar.md5" Since owning this phone, I've never seen a file with ".tar" twice in the file name.

Disregard that, I'll be back in a minute with some help. I'm pretty sure the new boot chain will not except custom recovery. Try this guide.

If you were able to Odin a stock rom then Odin a stock rom that has been pre rooted and then just use ez recovery from the play store to flash cwm

Looks good. Booted into the rom with no warnings... It says "pass."

Any suggestions as to where I might get one of those?
The 5 minute time limit can be a PITA.

The problem is that when I unzip it, I don't get an md5 file, I get an "image" file of some sort.

Update: OK... have gone through the guide which went brilliantly.
Now, do I just boot this thing into recovery and flash the CM10.1?
Is there anything I've overlooked? Anything else I need to do?
And do I do the factory reset/wipe dalvik and the rest before, or after?
I presume I have to use ezlock to unlock the bootloader again after this, right?
No, you still need to unlock bootloader and backup your IMEI. You may want to do quite a bit of reading, CM 10 is not as easy to fix some of the potential problems that you could possibly encounter.
I am not hating on them, but don't think it is as simple as one of the TW ROMS.

When I try this method to back up the IMEI it doesn't do anything after entering the *#7284# and if I hit the phone, it just sends me to a Verizon intercept operator.
The only reason I'm trying to get into a 4.2.1 ROM again was this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36396278&postcount=5
Just flash cm10.1 and fix your mobile settings. CDMA subscription > ruim/sim and toggle airplane mode.
This isn't the first time someone has had this problem.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
4.1.1 doesn't have this capability, and up to now, I haven't seen any other way to address the original issue.
Of you followed the guide I linked you are unlocked with cwm so boot into recovery wipe caches and reset and flash cm10.1 and gapps. First verify you are unlocked

OK, using EZLock I unlocked it successfully, but the status in EZLock is still listed as "unknown."

[Q] Tried rooting my phone first time, soft bricked it.

I got it rooted, installed a few apps and everything seemed to be working fine, i shut it off for the night and woke up yesterday morning and it gave me this screen.
(I cant post a link, but if you google Firmware Upgrade Encountered, it pulls up quite a few pictures of this same situation.
I can't get into download or recovery mode. The samsung logo will appear for a split second before this screen appears. Kies does not reconize the phone. All i want to do is get my phone to turn on and go back to stock settings.
Can anybody please help me?
Use odin to flash the stock rom. Did you pull the battery?

Im not sure where to get the stock rom.. and when i get it should i put it next to PDA and tick the same boxes i used to root it? Also, do i need to use a pit file?
EDIT: Also yeah, i did pull the battery out. Thats the only way to turn the phone off now, as it is completely unresponsive.
Go to Sammobile.com. you'll down load a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file out of it. Use that in PDA. Only have auto-reboot and f.reset checked.

Sorry to be such a noob.. but I looked around on that site and can't seem to find a .zip file to download.. the only files i can find are for phones that aren't mine.
You'll have to register, it's free. There is a firmware section on the site. It'll walk you through the type of phone, etc. And then give you s couple of files available for Doreen load. The newest one is ics
Damn spell correction

But if you can't get in download mode (per your op) downloading the file will do you no good. I don't understand why the other poster told you to Odin. You can't Odin unless it is in download mode. :what:

Oh.. .well what should I do then?
If you can get the com port to light up in Odin chances are it'll flash. That'll be the next step.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Does the com need to light up yellow or light blue?
Yellow

alright, thanks for all the help. 13 mins left on the download
While it's downloading, does odin recognize your phone? Also, I'm assuming you put the battery back in and having the same problem, it didn't boot.

Im not sure how to tell if its recognizing it, I did try that with the battery, and after it downloaded there as an MD5 File and an application extension. what should I do with the extension?
You don't need the extension, just the md5. When you plug your phone into the computer with Odin running, the batter needs to be in, does the com port light up? I'm also assuming your Odin version is 1.85
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app

I've not had good luck with the newer one. I'd recommend 1.85.

EDIT: I spoke too soon, now it is stuck at the Rethink Possible logo
EDIT 2: Never mind.. just taking a long time to load, thanks for all of your help man!
Great! Been there so figured it would. Now you can start over.
