Hello friends,
I am often bombarded with different types of questions about the clockworkmod recovery. And I couldn't find a suitable source from where a newbie can learn about clockworkmod from the source.
So, I decided to write a guide on Clockworkmod Recovery.
The guide includes:
[*]What is Recovery?
[*]All the options in clockworkmod recovery explained
[*]How to boot into clockworkmod recovery
[*]Installing it [general]
[*]Scrolling through CWM
Seems very newbe freindly. Every thing about the CWM recovery. Would be even nicer if you would do a guide on everything about building a cwm recovery. There the differance between Arm types and Androud versions and stuff.
Im still bussy on making my own recovery and rom for a new device. Sow i made me some guide here:

Hi guys sorry for my lot questions
but I'm new and I want to descover everything in any thing that I use
okay
now I want to flash a custom rom on my phone(LG OPTIMUS ME/P350)
I learned how but the first step always be to go into the recovery mode when booting up.So I tried but it restore the default android
then I learned that I should install recovery mode(TWRP or CWM)
So I want to know
Is there a special version for every phone??
If so where can I find my on version
if no where can I find the general version for android 2.2.2
Look in the forum for your specific device. I'm pretty sure there will be a guide there.
Recovery mode is different for all phones.
Nice I will search And you ill have a very fast feedback
thnx for quick replay
Is it good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080911
thing can I do it Also these steps are using adb
Also What is the kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17499336
how can it help me
A kernel is the underlying process that drives the operating system and manages the resources. Unless you really know what you're doing, I would strongly suggest that you don't replace your current kernel.
The first link looks fine for installing a custom recovery partition. Take note that the install process requires root access to the phone.
You can get root by following the instructions here.
There should be a link somewhere on the forum for you to download ADB. If you can't find it, you can install the Android SDK from Google, it includes ADB.
Ok I will try to try (nice sentence)them today
And wait for the feedback thnx for replays
Other question I want to flash v10f firmware
then root
then install this recovery all that to get root and also availability to flash an Arabic Rom
-is this the right way?
-do you kno any custom Arabic Roms?
Answer please
Hello everyone,
I have a tablet naming HCL ME V1 and it supports only CWM Recovery 5.0.2.8 only.(I flashed it and it booted into recovery mode, no other recovery is booting.)
The recovery which i dowloded(5.0.2.8) has emmc partitions and my tablet have MTD partitions (when i flashed it started giving error like: cant mount cache\recovery\last_log. etc etc.)
so i edited the ramdisk(i replaced cwm recovery.fstab with stock recovery.fstab) but it didn't work for me.
So i decided to build it from source.
I know that CWM Recovery sources are with the CyanogenMod sources.
I want to download Cyanogen Mod 7 sources as zip because I don't have high-speed internet connection. So i will download it at another place.
So, I need a proper guide to build CWM recovery 5.0.2.8
Cwm online builder didn't help me.
And it will be helpful if a kind and experienced dev can make it for me.
Anyone also can look at here:

I have the Kyocera hydro xtrm, I've already rooted, and would like to install new Rom using Rom installer. But it seems that there isn't a Twrp recovery for my device, at least not that I can find. I would like to have a recovery available before attempting to flash new ROM. Can anyone please help?
Thanks, dannypipes9
I can't post links (<10 posts), so search Google for "Phil Z computer dependent", and the first link is the answer to your problem )
I saw that before some where, can you tell me more about it?
Sent from my C6522N
so please can someone explain me how i can swap twrp against the cyanogen recovery? I am right now on cm12 nightly and want to have the twrp recovery persistent after every update!
There are several ways to achieve this. You can flash it e.g. with adb from your PC or with a terminal emulator on android itself. Have a look in the recovery threads in Dev section. There should be tutorials for it.
EDIT: I use this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3028846
i would like to make a custom recovery for my device (yureka).
i havce searched and read a lot on it and it turns out i have to sync all CM sources even for making just a recovery.
is there any other way to make CWM or TWRP or Philz recovery from stock recovery or just sync sources which are required for recovery?
