I haven't done it myself, but saw the post recently.

Why do you need the power button in recovery?

I am rom manager to flash clockworkmod/custom roms
That's why it need power button when I flash custom roms

But you can also press the "Search"-button! It has the same function as the power button.

you were able to reboot into recovery? if so how because im using a rooted rom altered beast and i can go into recovery only the first time after i ran it through ODIN
Download quick boot from market. Or turn off phone. Hold volume up and home key in then while holding those in hold the power button in. When you see sanding screen let go of power button but not the volume up or home key.

If you want a multi-functional widget similar to the power control widget but more with an option for reboot (rooted including recovery, bootloader, etc you can also try

Widgetsoid. It's a free app, and the developer is pretty good with it.
I havent tried myself, as I just got my charge about an hour ago, and am familiarizing myself with all the development threads...

Unroot/stock load?

I need some help with a nexus s 4g that has a broken power button.
I would like to reload the stock rom/unroot so that I can take it to sprint.
It currently has cm7, so i am able to go into recovery through there and it seems I can navigate through it using a no power button app.
I'm hoping there is a stock zip I can flash?
I appreciate your help.

Not sure I bought mines from rom manager. Maybe the link above me?
Sent using Tapatalk, you know, the free version.
I am able to get to CWM using Rom manager and can navigate with the help of the no power button app.
The issue is I can't find the appropriate zip to flash.
The link above isn't very helpful since all those methods require the use of the power button..
Thx

The method of putting it in download mode is hard. What I did was hold the volume up and volume down and plugged it in when it stated to do the method with the power button

Booting to recovery?

Is there a program or an app that i can use to setup, when i push the power button, i get the option to restart in recovery, or do i have to load a custom rom for this to happen. I really want to keep the stock rooted rom. I do have the cwmr touch recovery loaded from the devlop section of these forums.
Try the app "quick boot". Free in the market.

search for "14 toggle mod" this will change ur notification drop down buttons and give u a side scrollable one, that, including some other useful features (flashlight anyone?) includes a reboot option that will let u boot rite to recovery

If it was a strange question, then how come almost every custom ROM comes with the extended power menu and/or the 14-toggle panel? Couldn't the rest of xda just use ROM manager to boot into recovery? Sure, but its quicker to do it from your home screen. He wants the same feature but doesn't want to flash a custom ROM. How is that strange??

Don't use the volume keys in that recovery. Strictly touch. If in were you I would just use 6.0.1.0

[Q] Cant enter CWM menu..

My phone can enter cwm just from ROM manager but when i try with hold Power + Volume down + Home botton, it doesnt work..
Need help because i got boot loop, my phone stuck on ROM Logo
Need to know what phone you are running. For the s3 unplug the device hold power+volume up+home. Once it boots let go of the power. You should see blue writing in the top left of the screen. Vol down is for Odin. Hope this helps.
