can any one tell me what is mean by custom room and stock room
i found these words many time in xda

Stock rom is the base rom ... which u got when u bought a Galaxy fit .. !!
And custom rom are modified one , which are made by devs ...

thnks and can you tell me about dev who is this dev and what he did

DEV stands for "DEVELOPER" .... !!

Stock ROM s made considering the overall safe n easy usage f all customers...
Custom ROM r the ones made by developers (devs) which s basically made to eke out more performance from ur phone...

custom rom is a modified version of the stock rom which features performance,visual and unlocks premium features like tethering.

Tethering is available even in our stock roms...

ICS Custom rom for samsung galxy fit

hello
I am from Split, Croatia, and I'm new on xda developers forum.
I own samsung galaxy fit, and I'm tired of gingerbread and touchwiz.
I wonder you could reccomend me ICS custom rom, on witch works: camera, music player, play store, WiFi, bluetooth and gsm/sms.
and i would like some recommondations for some good programs for my phone.

Wait for maclaw's ics official release , it keeps on beta 7 and its the only one...

Ics is not yet good for everyday use...though it keeps getting better with each release...
So all you can do now is wait for maclaw's next release...for the time being, use the gb based custom roms...

On ICS camera don't work. Use CM 7. I now use CyanMobile reVo A Galaxy Fit 20120420. Link on PP.

how can u use other roms on our device ???

Well i'm not really into it, so i dont know very much abouth it. Nowi saw in developers part of forum sense rom... Is it flashed real sense UI, or it is just a mask? I would like to install that sense UI if it is real sense.

Not a real sense
but a sense based on Cyanogenmod

It is a stable rom
And u will have to flash this theme via cwm

How to port roms from s2 or s3

Dont even try it. I m victim of that.. flashed ics rom of s2 over my R. Stuck in galaxy r bootup logo..so batter not to..until any dev wouldnt make it for u.

Porting ROMs are one of my future works buddy. After MaZel II, I will try porting a ICS ROM of S2 to ours and if i succeed, will make a guide specific to SGR.
One Important condition in porting is that both the devices should be in same android version. And both device should be of same CPU (for us its ARMv7)

We can not port JB ROM of SII to our ROM untill we get JB ROM for our Galaxy R, Porting is possible only if you have same Android version on both the devices (Eg; CM10 to CM10, Stock to Stock....).....

You should be aware that our device lacks an important feature, the NEON instruction set, so you cannot simply replace native binaries and libraries (such as libandroid_runtime.so which is sometimes crucial for ports).

I know, CPU, GPU, Mainboard and Android Firmware version must be exactly the same and match. Example : LG Optimus 2X or Motorola ATRIX. But S2 and S3 as the hardware is very very different our Galaxy R. For this reason, it's hard to develop/port the firmware.

From the link:
I will be referring to the following:
BASE = The GB/ICS/JB ROM made for your Device only.
PORTED = The ROM you are trying to port from.
BASE and PORTED must be the same CPU. e.g. ARMv7, ARMv6, ARMv5
You must have the same settings in Notepad++ like mine.
Ignore the procedure, if the file or folder is not present!
BASE & PORTED should be the same Android version.
If you are porting a custom GB ROM, then use a GB BASE, the same goes for ICS and JB
Make sure both BASE & PORTED are deodexed (It's hard to port an odexed ROM)
Final ROM is inside PORTED Folder
(Don't get confused! This is a Major change from the previous Guide because this method is a lot faster and easier)
in this link It says Base & ported should have the same android version. it says ICS/JB should have compiled earlier . So we must look on how to compile ICS for our device..:fingers-crossed:

CM 10 bugs

Can anyone tell me the bugs of cm 10 alpha 4? My friend wants jb on his sl and is a complete noob so he won't be able to cope with the bugs. He wants me to install jb on his phone. Should I proceed? He is using stock gb.

if u need stable rom,just be on GB itself...cm10 has usb bug,wifi tethering,battery drain,720p recording bugs etc...development is on progress,just wait few days for a stable cm10...

ics is also not stable now..it also has got bugs...but if u can manage with bugs,u flash ics/jb...or else, be in gb itself

JUst advise..If ur frien very very very noob about ics or jellybean..Just stay at gb untill its stabil..otherwise ur firen will keep askin you why this why tat...

iam using galaxy fit for about 2 years nw and since i bought it i got stuck on stock roms because the space for appz and the lagii performance so i using cm 7.2 since i own it ^_^ ......the question is Is there any rom like cm official can i use ..calling chating appz gamer GPS ..all this feature in a rom with no bugs

I guess you need to search this forums by using your internet and download roms according to ur need..so better search n find one

I like Jana's ROM, but yeah it all depends on your preferences, you should research a bit, problem is that there is so many custom ROMs

just wanna share.in my opinion and i always trying each newest cusROM..here my reference
- CM based: use CM 7 or 9 customROM.you can use pure CM or just CM based.it's fast and suitable for our fit.You can try CM 10 but it's laggy,to hard for our fit
You can try Jellybean Experience v3 by Tejkumarvusirikala,it's awesome.my suggest,use CM 7 based.no major bug found.
- Stock based: offcourse this is the most suitable one.because it's from stock rom that has been modified. all working guarantee
After all,you have to read the custom rom thread totally,cause there will be feedback from other member or user about the current rom.and the support from the developer offcourse.
the most important is all system working 100%.whatever the custom ROM you use.

i did that always but i need my mob too so asking for exeperience only cause i consider new here and dont hava much time and backups restore doesn't work on my fit thank you very mach for answer

it is what i want every day use and no lag no bug ^_^ but some awesome from those developers

What is now the best rom? I look at this whole roms no longer, because there are too many.

according to my opinion JellyBread v5.0 for galaxy fit is best right now in cm7.2
