Hi, I am running this ICS ROM:

I was wondering if I could disable the menu key so I could get the overflow menu in the top right corner, then turn the physical menu key into the multitasking button. How could I do that?

Is there a mod that would disable the menu button on the phone and add the menu button inside the apps instead?
No. There are mods to enable software buttons. Each app is created to utilize hardware software menu buttons. In order for the app to show a menu button the app would need to create the.

If you want the software menu button to appear on-screen where would it go?
ICS solves this problem by having a flexible navigation bar where a menu button would appear if the application called for it. So if you want a software menu button, there are mods to enable a navigation bar.
Hey everyone,
I was wondering if there was a way to enable double click home to google now.
I know I can set it to long press menu to google now but it would be nice to just double click the home button.
Thanks for the help!
Settings - system - hardware keys - enable custom action - set long press home button to search assistant. Then I set long press menu key to the recent apps tasker cuz it was previously empty. This gives long press home key to Google Now and menu long press to tasker. It may be the closest thing you'll find.

Hi,
I want to change the middle "Show previews" button to function like a "menu" button, I have looked all over the internet but no one explains how to do it on one s.
is it even possible? and if yes then please let me know how
Thanks,
Jasmine.
The middle soft button on mine is the home button.. the recent apps button on the right can be used as a menu button. Settings, display, buttons and gestures. The rest should be pretty easy

We all know you can use the power button to take a picture in most custom roms, but with the s3 being such a large phone it's sometimes hard to hit the power button and tap to focus using just one hand. So how would one go about mapping the physical home button as the camera shutter button? Thanks for your input.
Anyone?
You can enable the onscreen buttons then remap the home key to start the camera and act as the shutter button when in the app. Also some camera apps allow you to select any pod the physical buttons as a shutter key.

Thanks for your reply but I'm looking for a way to map the physical home button as the camera shutter button. Using an on screen button would be the same as just hitting the camera shutter button on the camera app.
I'm in no way a developer but I feel like it would be as simple as changing the code in the camera apk to make the physical home button take a picture rather than the power button. Can anyone confirm this?
Bump
I knowfor HTC phone they make MOD for vol up for vol down to act as shutter button, I wonder if that would be able to be ported over number one, and if so if able to change the vol up/vol down to home button for shutter.

this method isn't the best though, it pretty much renders the volume button worthless IIRC even when not using camera app, i do remember i coded it into the camera app one time for HTC, maybe i can dig that up
