I am using Bruce's CM10 with 3.0.51 kernel, and I am not able to use the USB OTG function. I have the right cable (yes, I know that Sensation requires external power, blah blah blah), but nothing happens. What have I to do? Does this kernel/this ROM support OTG? I really don't know what to do
Yeah, thats a good question. I have ViperS with Overclocked kernel where the OTG works, but I want update on CM10, is there any kernel or fix, howto make it working?

Trying to do wireless tether, already rooted, just need correct kernel i believe.
There's a new *PROPER* CyanogenMod release out for the 1.2 that includes exactly what you're asking for. It's in this forum, and consistently in the top 20 most recently updated. All you need to do is click...
This one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=671122
But you can't just patch it onto any rom, you have to make sure you're using the official Cyanogenmod 4.2.15.1 ROM before you can flash that patch onto it. (see the second post of that thread above). But once you do that you'll have full hardware capabilities as well as the custom kernel features CM offers (Such as wifi and usb tethering, though I would use USB tethering as Wifi drains the battery even if you got it plugged in).
so which option would i select from here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Main_Page#How_do_I_upgrade_to_the_latest_CyanogenMod.3F
I just did "Upgrading from a CyanogenMod version less than 4.1.99 or other rooted ROMs", and now the phone is stuck at htc magic screen. any ideas?
Got it, just had to install the new ported cyanogen after installing the other 3 zips

Ported (which one are you refering to, there's one that takes the official CM rom, then you flash a patch onto it, then there's one earlier thread with a 'ported' rom)?
just get barnacle tether and don't worry about the kernel.
it does perfect wifi tether
+1 that way you can keep your camcorder for now too

Camcorder works fine in the proper cm port
I know there is probably an answer on her, but I cannot find it. I have installed the most recent VEGAn GingerEdition with the Clemsyn kernel. I know that prior to installing the kernel that I could connect my Gtab to my computer. Now when I plug it in I am not getting the prompt on my Gtab for USB mass storage. I can hear that it connects to my computer but I get nothing on the Gtab.
I read something about running CWM and mounting the USB but I have done that and it just says unmount and will not let me do anything.
Is there someone that can help me? I really love this ROM and would like to continue to use it.
same here
I downloaded the kernel and had the same problem I couldn't fix it a I went back to predators kernel
Do you think that is it? Just the kernel. Can I just change the kernel the way I installed the first kernel? Which one is predator's kernel?
According to pershoot's website
http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/
there is some settings in gingerbread that need to be reverted for USB mounting to work. Probably best place to start checking.
sorry
When I said predators kernel I meant pershoots kernel
I thought so. I am going to try the previous kernel and see what happens. Thanks for the help. You saved me from another night of scanning through the forums. That is appreciated.
The sIII has awesome USB otg support stock but on cm10 and aokp this doesn't seem to he the case.
All of the touchwiz based roms. (beans, cleanrom, and synergy)

Thanks! I wish aokp supported it but I will make do.
I tried almost every tw based rom including beans custom rom, synergy and cleanrom. None of them seemed to react to my on the go cable. The cable works fine in my friend's bone stock s III. Am I doing something wrong?
Confirmed working on CleanRom, but like the above said, I believe any stock-based/TW rom should work. I've used both an OTG usb cable and a micro-to-full usb adapter (which wasn't labeled as OTG) and both worked for me.
What are you trying to use it with? Some higher-drain devices may need a separate power source.
A 4gb flash drive and a wireless keyboard/mouse. Nothing that didn't work before root and rom flashing. Thanks for your help!
Hello everyone.
I have a sensation XE, with firmwire 3.33 from this page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
I am on hboot 1.27 with S-OFF. My problem is that the USB does not charge (and will not detect for SDcard access) when I boot up on my phone on the AOSP 4.2.2 Jellybean KANG ROM, or the Android Revolution HD 7.3 Rom. However, if I switch the phone off and plug in the USB cable it charges OK. Also if I go into CWM, I can mount the SDcard via the USB with no problem. So I am assuming this is some sort of software issue I am having? If anyone can give me some advice I would be grateful. Thanks for your time.
I have the same issue. Only work around is to download kernel tuner and toggle off USB otg on misc tweaks. I have to toggle it a couple times to work right.

Thanks for the suggestion elheat77, when you mentioned the kernel, I remembered that in Android Revolution HD you had a choice of two, so I choose the Sense Faux Kernel instead of the other one, in the chance it might make a difference and now everything works.

Flash KatKiss (Android KitKat 4.4.2) and it has the overclockable Kernel and Overclock settings built in

Make sure you are running TWRP Recovery before flashing KatKiss ROMs or JellyBean ROMs though

If the ROM doesn't come with an overclockable kernel already, you'll have to find a compatible one
Once you have the correct Kernel installed, grab SetCPU or similar from Google Play to overclock the CPU
Those ROMs are so old now I don't know which ones contain OC kernels and which ones don't, which was why I suggested KatKiss
Check the ROMs main thread for what is included / which Kernel it contains

No idea about the USB problem, maybe is an issue with the ROM / Kernel you've flashed - these ROMs don't have much / any support now
If you want to keep using it, then your best bet is to start reading through that ROMs thread and see if there is a solution in there or hope that someone else can remember / or is still using the same ROM
yeah i dont think it has to do something with how old that rom is, cuz i know revolver did allot of updates to ensure quality roms, and from the kernel link i shared there was a guy who was on revolver 1.3.1 who did not have any problems at all on the first page at the bottom you can read that.
everything works fine for me like the wifi, charging except the mounting of the device to a pc -_-
I mean because of the age of the ROM, you're going to struggle to find any answers to problems you have with it
