Hey, all
I'm running liquid ics 1.5 mr3 on my thunderbolt and would like to use camera zoom fx. the problem is that all of my pictures in camera zoom fx come out like this
the part in the corner is from the last picture i took. anyone know how to fix this? i tried to clear the data from camera zoom fx and from the stock camera app, and i tried a camera patch.
thanks in advance.
Ditch Ics, go back to ginger bread until next(if ever)ics update. Camera driver and kennel need some work and the only people to get it right is HTC. Gingerbread + resound battery+ overclock and under volt=20+ hours of use and 4+ hours of display. I believe the only reason we can undercut so much is because this phone had every intent to go ics(hence more power for gpu and cpu to work simultaneously which dissent in gingerbread)

Hey all,
I know last time Paul O'Brien ported HTCCamera.apk to the N1, but I haven't seen any announcement of the version from 2.2 being ported. Googling turns up nothing. Has this been accomplished?
I just moved over to CM6rc3 and am missing my tap-to-focus :-(
The latest nightly has tap-to-focus on the camera.
I just found it on 6.0.1 - you tap the settings icon from within the camera app and then scroll down to an area where you can set tap to focus, autofocus, or none.
That is one of the very few things that is keeping me from CM6... the HTC camera app allows you to tap to focus as well as auto focusing when you actually take the picture.
The CM6 camera app only allows one or the other... so if you use tap to focus and suddenly need to focus on something else, you have to tap again. And auto focus is much slower than the HTC app in my opinion.
It's a good camera app, you just can't rely on it to take a quick picture. You'll have to hope whatever you're trying to shoot sits still for a bit.
HTCCamera Flash time on Desire HD gingerbread ports is not synchronized with photo, and night photos are darker than in froyo roms, so somebody know, where is exactly the time to run the flash led on a photo, to modify it?
I have decompiled camera apk, but I don't find times or values to this.

I've recently observed the same condition on RCMixS 2.0/2.1 and would love to see the solution to it. I think I asked the same question somewhere in that rom's thread but never got an answer so I thought it was just me ... guess it's not.
up this thread
Also the auto enhance function does nothing.
i mentioned this problem some weeks ago but no one else noticed it...i am glad it's not my imagination!!! it would be great if there was a fix and don't have to revert back to froyo roms
I tested with InsertCoin v50. Results:
With the Sense 3.0 HTCCamera the pics are way too dark.
With lgCamera the pics are much better.
After that I replaced the 3.0 HTCCamera apk with the 2.1 HTCCamera apk from the actual stable release of InsertCoin. Now the pics are at the same level as the lgCamera pics.
@NeoPhyTe.x360: Do you mean the Sense3.0 ports? The GB-2.1 doesn't seam to have problems.
Or do you think that the froyo camera is even more brighter than the GB-2.1 camera?
yup i noticed that yesterday!!! the pics are dark at night...was thinking damn the flash not powerful enough... will try to go back to leedroid 2.1 GB

i think that 2.1 does have the problem too since i am now at insert coin stable and it has the problem as well. the camera in froyo roms makes way brighter images
I agree, hopefully there'll be a solution
This is my observation of the problem with ported 2.1/3.0 cameras:
Sense 3.0 camera = flash time issue (dark photos)/video works only in landscape
Sense 2.1 camera = no flash issues (normal photos)/video does't work at all.
Since I still don't use video recording that much (well, atm it's almost unusable), I'm using 2.1 camera and photos are as they should be.
I am with Vipers rom 1.1.0 and I think the camera from ICS is not so good in dark . Why? Because I remember before on GB when I take picture on dark first flash is longer and phone make autofocus then use the flashlight to take the picture .. now the pictures are not focused (1st flash is very fast without focusing) in low light conditions ? Anyone know is there way to improve that or use old camera because is annoying to try 10 pics to focus when u take picture with friends.I am not complaining of quality of photos on low light but seems that camera cant focus right way ? For example my old phone on dark make good focus from 1st time ..
The camera from ARHD 6.7.2 is perfect and make good pictures on dark/low light ... and face detection is working(but i thing this is known issue)
Try to flash a camera mod (don't know wich one to test, never used it).
Maybe one include a good "night flash"...

Why the Sensation or the camera software doesn't switch on the flashlight while focusing? Impossible to take a good picture in low light environment. I tried ARHD 7.3, Albinoman JB 4.3.1, and many other ROM, and 3rd party software, but this is still not work. Have anybody a working solution?
Sorry for my English...
Is there a way to use the original, HTC Sense camera that ships with the stock version of the phone with [JB]Paranoid Android 2.52? I love PA but I loved the camera that came that the camera shipped with, specifically the ability to click and hold the shutter for a burst of images, and the various little filters.
I know the PA camera has a burst mode under settings but you have to turn it on and then you don't have control as to how long the burst is, you have to set a pre-defined number.
I've tried pulling the camera apk out of a the Venom ROM and installing it but I don't know how to replace the built in PA camera so I end up with 2 cameras and the 2nd one, the one I installed doesn't work then.

The Sense camera needs a Sense ROM. This has been well-established.
Please keep all question/help related threads in the Q&A section only. Thank You.
Thread Moved.
The on-going debate about the S3's camera when using Touchwiz vs. an AOSP ROM made me wonder about the camera apps itself. Which camera app do you primarily use? Coming from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I actually miss the AOSP camera app (where you have the touch-wheel that lets you adjust settings on the fly). The stock TW camera app isn't quite as intuitive (e.g. to change white balance, I have to press the Options button and scroll down through a litany of settings just to change it).
I've been tempted to try OTHER camera apps, like Camera MX. Does anyone have a preference?
Snap camera. Easy. Love it. There is a thread here somewhere where the developer is active in it.

I had been using this camera https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moblynx.camerajbplus&hl=en until getting onto 4.3.1, whenever I use a 3rd party camera, it's fails and then no app can connect to the camera, I have clear the cache and dalvik cache to get the stock camera to work. But if the the jb+ camera works for you I'd recommend it. I use this camera when I'm not in a rush https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.pro&hl=en (there's a lite version too I think) It just gives you complete control of your camera. It's great for arty fartsy stuff but if you need to take a quick photo it might not be the best the app.
Stock Camera
I use the stock camera, but I just downloaded VSCO Cam, I'll see if its any good.
sspencer10
KITKAT 4.4 From the best! sspencer10 best rom for 4.4 try it out hes doing a great work on that room 4.4 camera is running very smooth i love it but i alwayz keep my stock camera hehe
Currently using stock AOSP 4.4 camera, but I have withdrawals from TW camera, and dreams of the Note 3's camera. Anyone know of a camera the has slow/fast motion, panorama, multi-shot, and HDR modes?
