[Q] Asus day scene live wallpaper misaligned - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I recently flashed the CyanogenMod 10 V6 ROM on my Asus Transformer TF101. I am quite happy with the ROM but the launcher seems to have a litle bug in combination with the Asus day scene live wallpaper. On the first screenshot it shows the correct aligning of the wallpaper. After I apply the wallpaper it gets misaligned, it is placed too high. Is there an easy fix for this? After installing another launcher like Holo Launcher the problem is gone but I prefer the Trebuchet Launcher .
Any fixes for this?

Nobody?

You have to disable "stretch"in launcher settings!

When I was having troube placing a photoshopped logos.sys (It's now safe to turn off your computer seen as Windows 95s and 98s) as a background, I ended up coming across the Image 2 Wallpaper app (free, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shirobakama.wallpaper). It resolved the cropping and streching problem that gallery is infamous noted for doing
for the lols, I photoshopped the message to, "It's now safe to turn off your tablet" (see attached)

Changing Rows/Columns - 3.1 rooted

Anyone see where or if one can change the number of rows and/or columns on screen? Quite handy when placing widgets.

Yes it's called ADW EX
It scrolls a 10000000000000000000000000000 times better
Resizable widgets
You can change the icons to anything you want
You can change the size of icons
You can change the text of icons
Up to 9 screens
I know 7 different people with either xoom or transformers, they all use this
Still using stock launcher but after 3.1 disappointed only some widgets are resizable thinking of giving ADW a go do I need any add on with it and any other good set up advice before I take the plunge, must have a good location/ weather widget

When i tried ADW EX on my Transformer it was good, but i couldn't find the option to get rid of the ADW Logo in the top left of the home screen, which got on my nerves, any tips to get rid of it ?
I've just installed this adw launcher and its great. But what's that lock desktop option on the top for I press it and says locked but nothing changes I can still move the desktop? Any help appreciated

if adw ex works like adw launcher, then locking the desktop means that you cannot edit your desktop : if you press long on an app or a widget, it cannot be moved/resized.
It is kind of like locking the taskbar on windows.

By this you mean new 3.1 on an already rooted TF, correct? Or is there a new way to root 3.1 natively?
Thanks,

[Q] GO Launcher EX custom wall paper problem, change lock screen?

I installed the GO Launcher EX that came with the Google Apps RAR in the developer forum and noticed that I am unable to set my own custom wallpaper. I am only able to set a Live wallpaper or the default one that comes with GO Launcher EX. Anyone else have this problem?
When I attempt to do so, I go to the gallery, select my picture, crop and size it, then try to set it. It does the whole "Saving" thing but when returning back to the launcher, nothing has changed.
I've tried both from the Wallpaper option on "Menu" as well as under Theme Settings in GO Launcher EX.
Also, anyone know of a way to change the Amazon lock screen? The Amazon lock screen is still present after installing GO Launcher EX and will change the wallpaper to one of the random lock screen ones after turning off the screen and locking the device anyway...
Thanks in advance!!
EDIT: I should also note that I am rooted.
I have the same problem but am not rooted. I would love to disable Amazon's rotating wallpaper in favor of one of Go Laucher's.
I was planning on going into the system files and locate the folder its pulling the wallpapers from. Hopefully all we have to do is replace them with the wallpapers we like. Go launcher wallpaper doesn't shift left and right for me either when screen moving.

the problem seems to lie in the Fire's own stock lock screen. given the fact that it is rooted, see if you can disable the stock lock screen (using No Lock from the android market) and replacing it with something like Go Locker or WidgetLocker (though some say WidgetLocker doesn't work well)

The wallpaper for the launcher is located in the launchers apk. The wallpapers for the lockscreen are in framework-res.apk the standard place for an aftermarket launcher to pull wallpapers from is framework-res.apk (correct me if I'm wrong. The rom would pretty much have to be custom to fix this. Therefore it would be best for us to get a working recovery(twrp or clockwork using short presses to move through menus and long presses to select) then focus on ICS or HC(probably better off ICS) so we have a soft home, menu, back button.
Then changing wallpapers would be a breeze.

I got no lock to work. Same solution used to get Android Market to work. Get Titanium Backup installed (need the paid version) and you can use it to change the installed No Lock app to a system app. Reboot and it works fine. Will need to have your Kindle Fire Rooted.
Ok, Now I have No Log working, but how do I replace the Lock Screen?
GO Launcher EX wallpaper, make it stick
It's not a question of disabling the locker; regardless of whether the phone locks or not, the default Kindle slider screen appears on wake-up, and after sliding, the default Kindle wallpaper is there instead of GO Launcher's wallpaper.
I, too, am greatly annoyed by this.
If pyrostic is right, then regrettably there's no simple way to fix this. Which would suck. (Many of us are not developers.)
Widget locker works well for changing the lockscreen wallpaper at least..

It won't stay after you restart.
Benjyp's procedure worked for me. I posted more specifics about what you can do about them.

OK. I've got the wallpapers to not change back to the Amazon ones by changing permissions on the /data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper file, but I can't get scrollable wallpapers to work. I'm using the long rainbow one that came with Go Launcher but it's fixed and won't scroll. I've tried changing the settings in Go Launcher to the Default setting (to allow scrolling wallpapers) but that didn't help.
Anyone else having this problem?
Would you mind sharing how you changed permissions? I.e. what app used and changed from/to what?
My mom downloaded a live wallpaper and like the others, it keeps getting changed back.
so to stop it from changing wallpapers you have to root it?
yea gotta root to stop it from changing wallpapers. I feel like a solution will come out that doesnt require root...hopefully

[Q] Wallpaper Resize

Hello
I'm sorry if someone already posted this. I just flashed the new ICS leak (ucld4). When I go to set my wallpaper I get the orange box but it doesnt let me enlarge it. In other words, its only a portrait box and doesn't stretch for larger images. Is this a known bug? If it is any known fixes?
Thanks
Use a different launcher. If u like the ics look try nova, apex, or trebuchet
I'm using apex launcher. It still doesn't let me enlarge the orange box. Am I doing something wrong?
Try using quickpic to set wallpaper
Thanks. That app seems to fix the wallpaper issue.

Problem with JB and APEX

I've updated to JB and since i did the launchers are acting weird.
I cant get the wallpaper roll (hope this is the right word) efect, (i've thied the stock launcher, apex and nova).
And in apex, if I turn the tablet to portrait mode the wallpaper only covers about 65% of the screen, leaving about 35% black in the bottom (there are shortcuts in the black area, but I cant get the wallpaper to fill the entire screen.
Is this happening to anybody else?

Have you perform a factory reset? make sure you back up your stuff before doing so.
I've had that issue on both ICS and JB. Apex is my favorite launcher so I can put up with the wallpaper issue I have. I use a live wallpaper now and that issue isn't there with live wallpapers.

I've noticed that it doesn't happen with live wallpapers but...
A bug free wallpaper is a basic feature of anything with a screen...
must try to fix..!!

Corrupted Wallpapers on Nova Launcher after reboot

I'm using Nova Launcher Prime on my XTZ with 4.1.2 and I'm experiencing the issue that the wallpapers look corrupted after every second reboot.
The wallpapers are using are HD wallpapers (1920x1080), mostly from the konachan.com site.
Why I'm posting this here?
Because I don't have this issue on other devices like my 2nd Nexus 7 or Acer Iconia A700 with the same wallpapers.
The problem has to be related with the Tablet Z.
I took a screenshot how the wallpaper look like:
Does someone issue the same thing and knows how to fix it?

Hi,
I have the same issue, but I also do not know how to fix it.
br,
lowtraxx
Er... I also have XTZ with stock 4.1.2 and Nova Prime, and I had never the slightest problem with wallpapers.
Do the stock wallpapers work without problems? Then something is wrong with your downloaded wallpapers...

A possible difference may be that I am using the Landscape only Wallpaper setting with Nova and not the Standard Full Settings, because I want to use 1920x1080 Standard Wallpapers that do not get cut off. If I use the Full mode I also do not experience the aforementioned issue.
By the way guys, what apps do you use to set new wallpaper with stock launcher? Without wallpaper resize and other mess. Any simple one click solution?
I get this problem periodically too. I found the following sometimes fixes things:
Set your wallpaper
Go to settings > apps and remove defaults for Nova
Press home key
Select stock launcher on once only
Set a wallpaper in the stock launcher
Press home key again
Set Nova back as always action
For me this fixed a similar issue with the wallpaper. I have experienced this issue but don't remember if I got around it with settings and crop controls or the above.
