[Q] SGS3 NOOB! While rooting, USB not recognized - General Questions and Answers

Hi I've been searching and searching, but haven't found any answers for my noobie woes!
I have SGS3 Korean model SHVE-210S:
First time attempting to root the phone and kinda jumped into it more quickly than I should have. I assumed I would be using MSkip's Samsung Galaxy S3 Intl Toolkit V6.0. I followed the directions very closely and everything went fine up until I attempted the Rooting Options #3 All in One. When the phone was powered up again, the USB drivers were not recognized. I had my phone debugged prior to shutdown
I've tried all options suggested in the forums- un-install, reboot, re-install / re-installing Kies / uninstalling USB devices via Windows 7 / etc etc.
Currently my phone just powers up to the Galaxy logo. thats it.
Wondering if my problem is that the Intl Toolkit is not the proper method for Korean models. And if not, have I just bricked it? Please help!!!

ALLINONE Rooting: Auto Reboot, then Device Unknown
Just a bit more detail to this problem:
It was during the #3, ALLINONE Rooting process when, after flashing the PDA file & Auto Reboot was selected, my phone reboots but the device drivers are no longer recognized, device unknown.
So I think I soft bricked it, trying to restore factory drivers via Odin, with help and advice from member [email protected] Problem is I didn't make a backup. Does anyone know if during the ALLINONE flash, backup files are made?
Anyhow, I will keep posting and talking to myself if need be. Hopefully this stumbling about will be helpful to someone in the future.

help rooting

Hi, I'm trying to root my DC using this guide... ok well it wont let me post links, but the thread is on android central forums, and is titled [HOW-TO] Get a rooted version of EE4
However, after following all the instructions carefully, and doing everything exactly as it says, I get an error when I plug in my phone and hold the down volume button. Nothing pops up on odin, and at the bottom of my screen I get a message "usb device not recognized/malfunctioning." I haven't heard of this problem in all my reading on the various forums, but I was wanting to know if anyone could help me out.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers, restarting my computer, nothing works. I would love to root my phone, and if anyone could help me out that would be great.
Thanks
I think you need the samsung drivers. Put your phone in media mode and plug it into the computer. It will search for drivers and install them or you can download them from one of the root links.
yeah i've already done that... tried both actually. official and the ones from the root threads

How to root LG L50 Sporty (a.k.a LG D213c)

So this is my first post on XDA, due to the lack of information on this particular device. Here I'll try to explain how I managed to root this device after trying several methods available here and all over the web. First I'll explain what didn't work:
VROOT (*)
Framaroot
Motochopper
SRS Root
MTK Toolkit
Nearly every solution on the web
After trying every method above, I noticed none of them were working. They all were giving false positives. No ROOT at all. I was kinda frustrated, 'cause I had followed every instruction possible, without success. I double checked my PC drivers, and I noticed something odd: Every time I changed the USB connection type on the L50, Windows installed different drivers for the device. I'm saying this was odd because I installed the drivers from LG drivers pack, so I was a bit confused. So, after Windows Installed the drivers for MTP, Modem, PTP and LG mode, I tried VROOT and... VOILÁ! I had ROOT:laugh::laugh:
So here are the steps I followed, and the tools I used:
Download VROOT (a.k.a. as IRoot) from w w w. mgyun. c o m / en / getvroot (without spaces)
Enable DEBUG MODE (Surf the web if you don't know on how to do it).
Plug your device to your PC and wait until Windows Installs the drivers for the connection type.
Without unplugging the device, Change the USB connection type to the next one. Wait 'till windows finishes installation.
Repeat the previous step untill you finish with all connection types.
Check Device Manager for missing drivers. If you have some missing, repeat steps above.
Open VROOT/IROOT and plug your device to the PC. Follow on-screen instructions and wait.
ENJOY!
Now, I have to find a Custom Recovery that works with L50... so if you guys know where I can get one, I'll appreciate your help.
Your Thread will be moved to appropriate Section.
So I tried to make a recovery for this phone, but it cannot boot. It says boot certification error, and the phone reboots normally.
So is it possible that the bootloader is locked? I want recovery for this phone too.
someone know how i can do a nandroid backup on LG L50 ?
Thank you so much. Worked on D213AR
Can you confirm if there is a way to unlock NFC hidden option on my phone?

If you managed to get Root (with the steps described on the OP) You can use Titanium Backup.

[Q] [ROOT] Is there any alternate way to root tab 2?

Hi all,
I wanted to install a custom firmware to my Tab GT-P3110. I followed the instructions and downloaded the files needed to root the device first. But to my surprise, i couldnt proceed with even a simple process of rooting. I have done this before with my Galaxy s2 without any problem. But now the laptop is refusing to detect my tab in a normal way or in the download mode. So i cant proceed with Odin. Although in the download mode, it says that Odin in red small letter on the top left corner alongwith some more 2 line detail but thats it. It is not recognized by the laptop.
Here are the things which i tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the samsung drivers
Re-installing kies
restarting latop (dozen times)
Tried on 3 different laptops
Tried three different USB ports
Any help is appreciated. Last effort i'll factory reset it and then hope that it works as a new tab and i dont need to look into a custom firmware.

[Completed] ADB wont recognize my G3

I'm trying to root my Verizon LG G3 on 5.0.1 VS98524B, but now ADB wont recognize my device. Yesterday I was trying to root it using a one click root tool but it would fail (it would say successful, but would not achieve root). today I decided to use the LG flash tool to restore my phone and try again. then I saw that the tool (which claims to support all g3 models on all firmwares above kitkat) did not support VS98524B, but there is another that does, but surprise surprise, adb no longer finds my phone.
I have tried; restoring my phone again, installing and reinstalling the drivers, use different computers (2 win 7, one win 10), use different cables, on different ports, change between ptp and mtp, toggling and untoggling usb debugging, restarting my computer, etc.
adb doesn't find the phone while running a root tool, or just doing the adb devices command in cmd....
looked at many threads, and not many (if any) seem to have this problem, and all who did were able to solve using one of the steps I mentioned above....\\
any help?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Verizon LG G3 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!

Help with a soft brick GT-P5113

I've searched for nearly 12 hours and tried several methods, but since this is an older device a lot of threads and links are dead. I was hoping someone could give me advice here, and I did use the search but to no avail.
The situation is I have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5113) and it's stuck on the logo and the sound it boots up cuts out half way (wondering if it's a hardware issue). I can boot into Download Mode and I have the drivers for it on my computer. The problem I'm having is USB Debug wasn't enabled. Is there a way I can flash through Odin3 and which version should I use? This device isn't rooted either. Any help or advice would ease my mind.

download a copy of your device stock firmware, if you already have it, flash it with odin, there is no specific version of odin, it works on all as long as your device gets connected and shows in odin you are fine.
regarding the hardware issue, it might be or it might be not, you can only be sure after successfully flashing a stock firmware file.
it won't need any USB Debug option for flashing stock firmware so you are safe to flash.
If odin does not work you may try going to the recovery and perform a factory reset and delete cache
