Hello,
i am new in the forum and not very good with english, and i am sorry if you have already answer this question but will ask anyway..
I would like to ask if it is possible to dual boot (stock rom and cyanogen mod) with samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 p5110.
Android does not allow dual boot. But it could, in the future years...

I was wondering about this myself if it was possible. I've seen dual kernels come up as search results, but wasn't sure if that was the same. I've also looked it up via Google and it seems it's been done with the Tab 2 7.0 only as of today.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-dual-boot-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-7-0/
Would be really awesome if the 10.1 could also dual boot with separate ROMS. :fingers-crossed:

I'm not even sure if I can link here, but can I install this specific ROM(Paranoid Android) on my tab? I know it says it's for Galaxy Nexus, but I guessed it'd be the same?

No, itd not be the same. Tab2 and G Nexus are completely different pieces of hardware, and the software is created/ported to fit into the hardware. Thats why in xda exist diferent development sections for differents devices. Itd be cool if someone ported that, dont know if already

Do not try this at home, in school or anywhere !!!
You may brick your tab permanently
You have been WARNED!!!
Wait for someone to port it to our tabs first

Hey Guys,
I've just purchased a Galaxy tab 2 P3110 (7.0) and i would like to root the device, and put Cyanogenmod 10 or 10.1 on it, as this is christmas present for a close relative and want the added features Cyanogen offers. I already have this installed on a Samsung S3.
I've seen quite a few different guides on the forums and other websites, all with differing ways to root the device and install custom ROM, can someone please provide a recommended guide to follow.
Check the 7 tab development thread.
Basically you need to download a program named Odin and use it to flash the proper cwm recovery to your tab. Then you boot that recovery to install the rom. You don't need to root, rooting is only if the rom you use is not rooted, like stock rom etc. You also don't need to unlock the bootloader or anything like that.

Dear Nutsonfire,
Thanks for your response i'm still conflicted about which instructions to use, some are saying make sure you download samsung kies, and the drivers etc..... before running ODIN, and some don't even mention it.
Heres what i've looked at so far... can you clarify as i definetly dont want to brick this

Kies is just so that you have the correct usb drivers so that your device is recognized by windows. You can also just install the drivers stand alone or Kies.
get odin and the file from the chainfire topic on the dev section
flash it and voila
quite simple, purchased mine last week and already flashed a lot of things
Amongst a slur of guides to rooting your Galaxy Tab 2 7" 3110, this video helped my a lot.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all your great help so far.
Not sure if this is applicable but figured i would check before i do it. I've noticed on my device its listed as a P3110, but on a few of the instructions and the CF-AUTO root its listed as model number GT-P3110, from what i have its a plain tab 2, without phone.

yeah we just drop the GT- from the front of the model name as a sorta shorthand the 3 Models for the 7" (not counting the verizon that uses a different model number string) are the GT-P3100, GT-P3110 and GT-P3113 and the 10.1" versions replace the 3 at the beginning with a 5 so they are GT-P5100, GT-P5110 and GT-P5113 they are the same thing whether they have the GT in front or not, its just quicker to not type it out everytime.
BRILLIANT

There are in a special thread for S7560/S7560M (Trend and Ace II x are the same phone with different names) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2019146
I've put in a suggestion to make a master thread called Samsung Galaxy Ace (all models incl. Trend) with a subforum for each model since they are different and incompatible as far as firmware, kernel etc. is concerned. There's not much out there yet, the only one that did a JellyBean (unsupported and buggy) and then a KitKat (4.4) firmware stopped since he switched to another model. I've tried the Kitkat but it's simply not finished and will probably never be unless other people take over and give the Ace 2x/Trend a go since it seems they seem to become very common as they are often sold in great bundles around the world.
My thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2605722
There are root-kits that flashes CWM-recovery while unrooting in a kit.
Even if your (and mine) phone is named Samsung Galaxy Trend you'll need to get used to call it a Galaxy Ace II x. This is the name of the rootkit with CWM-recovery: Galaxy_S_Ace_2_X_Root_kit.rar
And there are some ROMs (Australia and Guatemala versions with higher firmware version numbers) that can be flashed on any Trend/Ace II x since they aren't country locked or something like that.

thanks for your reply man but that thread was posted long time ago i already tried cm11 and cm10.2 for this device but now i manged somehow to fully brick this phone i cant enter in recovery or download mode when i try to turn it on the phone just shows the samsung galaxy trend and shuts down itself...dont know what to do i lost my warranty paper and threw away the box so i dont know what to do
Hmm, if vol up & down & home & power doesn't take you into recovery or vol down+power+home doesn't take you into download I'm not sure there's much you can do without leaving it to someone with a full JTAG-rig that can read and backup your system partitions (esp. the EFS partition that store your IMEI etc.) and reflash it with a stock ROM + stock partitions.

Hello,
Is it possible to use the Galaxy Note N7000 version of the Cyanogenmod for ZTE Blade Q Maxi?
Hardware-wise, the only difference I could see is that the Note has a Cortex A9 and the ZTE has a Cortez A7.
I'm assuming that resolution, screen and camera sizes are irrelevant.
I have rooted the phone and have made a back-up of the current firmware to the card (which is Orange bloatware weighing a massive 1.1GB).
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's impossible, why don't you search for a custom rom and kernel that are built specially for your device?

@Ferris Cruiser : As far as custom ROMs for it go, there aren't any at the moment.
Stock Android 4.2.2 has about 450MB. The back-up made with CWM to the zip card is...drum-roll please...1.5GB, because Orange bloatware. I didn't install any apps except something to root it and CWM.
Can I just flash stock Android 4.2.2 on it? I mean, the Google Nexus 4 ROM. Or would that brick it too?
I'm searching for something, anything, any Android version that might work for it because in the Orange branded version you don't have :
Options for calls/keyboard/home-screens etc. It's very very limited.

flashing any rom that is not ment for your phone will brick it, this goes for almost every devices. there are a few phones suck as the (t-mobile)T989 Galaxy s2 and skyrocket galaxy s2 (at&t) are able to flash each others roms with a mod i think, i have yet to try to flash one of their roms. it looks like your phone has almost about stock android, with a new keyboard or a new launcher. got a perfect status bar already. other than that it should look like a nexus 4.

I understand now, thank you very much for your help.
I've done some late-late-night research and was unable to even install Clockwork Mod on it, it still has the basic Android system recover (3e) from Orange.
I will keep on searching for a way to install recovery on it and flash it. The phone is good, the firmware ruins it.
So thank you all once again for your help.

It's 2016, and I need to know the truth about rooting the I925. I reset it to factory settings and here is what I have:

Is is possible to put Cyanogen on this?
I have tried several ways and the only successful way I have rooted it was King Root. But I was never able to get a recovery on there. I used Heimdall, according to the Cyanogen Website, with no success. I really thought CASUAL was the answer, but now I see that it doesn't work with the updated version. I need the pro on here to help me! I really want cyanogen on it! I am a newbie and using Windows on this..
Try the forum for your model .
I too fall into the same category and have not found a definite answer, has the MK1 stumped all who come against it? Or is root and unlocked b/l a trade secret? I have rooted many devices in my past from G1 to EVOs to newer devices and nothing has been more or less unknown around here like this device is....what gives??
What locked bootloader

It's hard to find a good how-to with this one it seems. There are many tutorials but usually for the other variants and not the Verizon one. The ones that seem to be for the right device use apps to install a recovery but the apps don't seem to support this model either.
I guess there is no luck for this tablet at all... I got it for cheap at this point (4 years after its release)! And there doesnt seem to be a way to even downgrade
