[Q] Theming help

Ok so I just have a quick question about theming. How do I change the text color on the lockscreen? I'm pretty sure I have to edit one of the .xml files, but which one and how? And do I have to actually decompile the .apk to edit it or can I just pull it using 7zip and edit it that way? I already have edited the actual .pngs for the lockscreen, so if anyone can help me out with this it would be great. Oh and this is with the stock deodexed rom.
I'm not sure where its located but it will be an xml file and you will need to decompile wherever it lays. Try androidpolicy.jar and look in there..

So it's not actually in the lockscreen .apk? I will look in the androidpolicy.jar. Also how would I go about decompiling it?

Only decompiling will not do the magic... If you 've some sense how to do that. Share. Otherwise this is not enough to answer the above.
Do you really know...?
What should he do after decompiling the framework-res.apk to change the app drawer's background?

Problems caused while theming

Started theming...
Faced a problem yesterday
force close
sense stopped working
Don't know why
3reasons for that might be
1. I just replaced png by JPEG and the other way
2.I dint resize the PNG, just placed as it is
3. Some thing might have went wrong while compiling
Wt do u think the reason for fc's:thumbup:
If you just want to change PNGs... Drag and drop only..use winrar..

I did, the thing wrong with that method is,
By replacing a JPEG image file by PNG file, is not being recognised on flashing that apk...
Everything else other than those images are working fine....
One more thing along with the above problem
I've taken some theme, replaced some image files, wanna rename that apk
Wt should I do
On just renaming the default name where ever I saw in folders dint help me....

Bro I also started theming
I've doubt...
Those clock background is a JPEG format
I used winrar method and apk manager for using PNG format images in place of them to get transparent background, which is impossible to replace formats
But some themers have themed a transparent JPEG image itself
But google says jpeg doesn't support transparency
Help me, some how I should get a transparent clock background....

inside a rom you would go to where the the png is, you edit it save it and overwrite the old one

Since it is png you no need to decompile or recompile just use 7 zip or winrar and replace it. Make sure that the png you are replacing have same resolution and name

Use winrar and take out the file you want, edit it and drop it back in the same place you got it, when it promotes you, replace it

winrar or 7zip?? , what are in drawable ldpi actually? it's the actual file or new??
Use Winrar or 7zip it doesn't matters.
Ldpi folder contains image for low device resolution.
If you replaced nothing in this folder then it's the actual file but you should replace your image in the correct folder according to your screen resolution.

First decompile a android app with apktool, after that u can easily edit any .xml file with notepad++ without any language problem.
If u extract an app.apk with winrar,7zip...etc or any android app like esfile explorer,zarchiver....etc then u can't edit .XML file & u face language problem.
So, decompile apk with apktool & then edit .XML files.
How to decompile apk, just Google it.
Thanks:
Yes! THANKS DUDE
