Want to install newest Google Now, but can't uninstall old version as it's system app - HTC One S

I'm rooted and using the Venom ROM. I just found the APK for the latest Google Now with a bunch of new cards (functions) added.
But I'm unable to follow the install instructions because I cannot uninstall the old version. Does anyone know how to do this, or perhaps a different way to install the new APK? TIA

Titanium Backup ftw

Try flashing the while 4.2 gapps package in the themes thread

Wheres the Android market app?

I just installed the new Cyangen mod 7 rom and it installed fine but theres no Android Market app anymore. Without it I can't download titanium to restore my backups.
You should be able to find the latest version of the market in ROM Manager. Look in ROM downloads under Google Apps. It may be there. If not try doing an XDA or Google search for the download and I'm sure you can find it posted somewhere.

You have to flash GAPP's, its available wherever you downloaded CM7 from. Due to licensing they can't include the google apps in CM7.
ah thanks I got it now. Apparently the app didn't install during the first installation.

I need an old version of ROM Manager

the ROM manager from android market doesn't have my phone listed for the clockword mod recovery. So I can't do the backup and restore or flash or whatever.
This is my first time rooting so I want to make sure everything is backed up. Can't do it without this program.
I know the version I need because others with LG Optimus 3D also can't get there phone with the current ROM manager.
I found it on google but it's from mediafire. It's also the premium version so that's stealing from the author. It could have viruses.
Is there a legit site where I can get old versions?
No need to have ROM Manager to backup or restore the phone.
If you have the recovery installed, just into it. Next go to backup/restore
Then choose backup.

no that's what I am saying. I can't install the recovery because my phone is not listed.
There is an old version of ROM manager with my phone listed, but it's an illegal premium version from mediafire.
I don't know if it's safe.
Put a new cwm manualy on your phone instead of trying to find it in Rom manager

Recovery Manager
Hey,
If you found an old one, could you let me know where from? I need to flash recovery on an HTC Hero.. alternatively, if you didn't: have you tried the Recovery Manager app on the market? It's the one with the two gear icons, com.simran.recmanager .. sorry, i'm a noob so i can't post externa links. It might support your phone.
Try 4shared

Hi,
I know it was a while ago but can you make the old rom manager available for me, please? I couldn't find it anywhere, even on apktops, and I would desperately need it for my old HTC Hero.
Thank you!

I don't have the .apk for you (i can get it if this doesn't work), but try installing it from here via your google account. It should install on your phone once you have an internet connection.
You can always get it from the dev's website.

Google Search Won't Update

I'm running BAKED 11/20 and Google Search won't update
Error
Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again.
Any suggestions?
Also I installed Baked Inverted Gapps 10/26, then dirty flashed Gapps 10/11. Not sure if this is relevant to the issue.
Me too

Fixed. Downloaded the newest Baked Google now update, installed. Then uninstalled the update. And updated Google Search from the play store.

Google Now

Has anyone got Google Now running on the RAZR i on 4.04?
I have tried various methods including that new gnow installer but no luck, I know my busy box is not running properly but I can't get it to install properly with init.d but I have read a few people have had these issues?
Any luck??

i have it running without voice....forget about that
google now
This apk here works but you will not get all the latest updates as google now is for jelly bean and voice search wont work but I'm trying a work around for that.
to install this first make a copy of the google search in system app and place it some where
On you're sdcard then using a root tool delete google search in system app then reboot phone
Before you install this version if you don't it won't work enjoy
Thanks so much!
