New to Rooting - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I'd like to think I'm pretty tech savy. But this whole rooting thing has so many different guides, with so many different methods. So my question is what is the most updated rooting method for someone on JB 10.4.2.13 Asus transformer Tf300t. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Step 3 of this guide works on any jb version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30516010
I use it every time I update.
Unlocked bootloader is required for this. You cannot root with a locked bootloader.

[Q] How can I root eee pad TF101G??

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I bought the new TF101G, out here in Italy from August 2. I tried to apply the same procedure as the root for the TF101 but it is not successful. I have to wait for some developers to be able to have root permissions, or am I mistaken something?
Thanks to all.
Wrong subforum, should be in Q/A or General, NOT in DEV section.

Perhaps because of this:

101g is the one with the simcard slot right?. considering it has only been a few days since it was released i don't think there is a way to root it yet and i believe that it will need its own subforum considering it has different hardware. Search around about how to do it manually most devices can be rooted through adb
Also for me, tf101g italian new key for bootloader. Not possible obtain root in any way

You can root using vipermod. Search for it on XDA
follow what i have posted under Eee Pad Transformer Q&A.. My post should be in 2nd or 3rd post.. I have B90 and was able to ROOT.. As for i can understand B70+ devices have APX mode which is similar to Transformer prime so you cant ROOT with older methods as of now and might change later, so if you want to take risk ROOT follow my post..

[Q] Upgrading to jelly beans manually

Hello guys.
I'm sorry for the noob questions, but I'm very new to the Android world.
I just bought an Asus TF700T and I decided to root it.
This wasn't possible as my device had JB installed, so I decided to downgrade it to ICS with a method that could keep it locked.
After that I rooted it without any problems
First of all my first question is this:
Is it normal that my tablet now is full of chinese applications? I downloaded the firmware from the asus site so I'm just wondering why it is like that and how to fix it
Also is it normal that I don't have the google play store application installed?
After this I wanted to know the correct steps to upgrade it again to JB keeping the root at the same time
Thanks a lot
Sounds to me like you flashed the Taiwanese firmware.

ye you are totally right...
I'm trying to install the WW version now.
Anyway after I installed it and rooted it how can I update to the latest version of JB?
thanks
Edit: I tried to download Root Keeper and to update it to JB, but the root is gone
So I'm stuck at the upgrading part
You need to install voodo before you update to JB, save the root and then temp un-root it.
If that doesn't work as easily as that (which it didn't in my case) then follow this guide

That worked great for me

[Q] Is there anyway to get root w/o the bootloader beiong unlocked?

I cant stand this anymore, and I keep getting the communications error running the latest ASUS unlock program.....

Unlocking, Rooting, and ROM's question
I'm new with Tablets forgive me if this is a stupid question but is there possably any way to use one program to unlock and root or just root the Asus TF300T without messing with the ROM on version 4.2.1 android jelly bean? The reason I ask is bc I'm use to doing things and rooting on my droid razr and for that all you need is razr utility. So basically is there a utility out there or wil there be one in the future for my Asus TF300T like something thats simple and your rooted? please somebody let me know it I'm dieing to get this TF rooted.

root method after unlocking on 4.2.1?

hi recently update to the oficial 4.2.1, and was wodering since its a rather recent release if its been rooted yet
If you are unlocked, as the thread name indicates, you can easily root it.
Follow the guides, but be really careful to pick the right TWRP version: 2.4.4.0-4.2
You can easily brick your tablet using the wrong one.
