[Q] Samsung S6352 Dear from China: no Google apps - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi,
during my last trip in China I got this nice dual SIM mobile running Android 2.3.6 and soon I realized that, as many other Samsung devices sold in China, all Google apps are blocked, only Samsung Apps works.
Since I need Gmail I visited several forums and I learned that rooting the device may be a solution to install Google Play and all the rest, but being the mobile commercialized in China only (at least till now) I cannot find hacks in non-chinese sites, and I do not understand chinese
I also gave a try to an hack for another Duos, without success.
Anybody may give me a suggestion on how to go further?
Thanks in advance
Jimmi

Hi Jimmi61,
I have the same problem.
Could you unroot yours???
If yes, please, give the directions.
thanx.

After long searching I found this thread in a chinese forum:
http://bbs.hiapk.com/thread-4273288-1-1.html
I see a .rar file but I cannot download because I think it needs a registration, and I cannot read chinese.
Do you know anybody that may do it?

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Dual Sim Thread - Note 3 n9002

Ok, since the old thread was plagued with paid roms, and it got archived unfortunately, I'm creating a new thread. Let's keep this healthy and clean so the information we post here wont get removed and will help more people in the long run shall we?
Update: May 3, 2014 - Added fix for Caller ID issue!
Update: May 1, 2014 - Added instructions to turn off Google Account Manager after setting up a Google Account
Update: April 9, 2014 - Added instructions to install super su after flashing new firmware and rooting.
Update: Feb 17, 2014 - Added instructions to turn off Google Bookmarks Sync after setting up a Google Account
Useful links:
How to Install/Flash Google Apps on Galaxy Note 3 N9002:
http://marrkdaviid.com/2013/10/install-google-play-on-the-samsung-galaxy-note-3-n9002/#.UsRALJYYYuo
** Please note that if you are using windows 7 to root the device using cf autoroot as instructed in the link above, you will encounter an error halfway thru the flashing process. You need to run odin 1.85 as windows xp to remedy this.
** Please note that after rooting and flashing google apps thru cwm, you will still have root access but the super su app may get lost. If that happens, please install super su from the google play store and everything will be back to normal. - thanks bigstuart for pointing that out
To fix the gapps error we see everytime we turn on the sync shortcut from the pulldown notification bar:
After setting up your google account, go to the settings menu and turn off the google bookmarks sync app. This will fix the google services has stopped error message.
To fix the google account dropping out (having to set up your google account again) turn off the google account manager app from the settings menu. Three users have confirmed this has fixed the issue.
BigStuart was able to finally find a way to fix our caller ID issue. Here's how to get it done:
Edit /system/csc/others.xml
change
Code:
<CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>11</CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>
to
Code:
<CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>-1</CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>
and add the following line:
Code:
<CscFeature_Contact_EnableDynCallerIdMatchingDigitWithAutoSim>TRUE</CscFeature_Contact_EnableDynCallerIdMatchingDigitWithAutoSim>
I added that line at the end of the file, before the closing </SamsungMobileFeature> tag.
Then reboot the phone and test caller ID
Lastly, enjoy your dual sim flagship device

thanks for making a new thread... am really interested in the n9002 but having second thoughts that i have to root it and it will have no samsung warranty. can i ask those who are using it now... (will use it if ever in the philippines)
1. once rooted and google play install do one need to root again if you hard reset your unit?
2. does rooting trip knox?
3. is there much chinese bloatware that you cannot delete?
4. problems encountered the unit being released only in china?
Am in philippines, note 3 dual sim. Without root when i tried install google play knox is tripped. I rooted and running google full service now. Excellent phone buy it

Good thinking on this Thread. The archived thread had some links to removing bloatware and dealing with issues like changing CSC. Wish they didn't delete it. Now we have to re-search and save them all over again.

1. once rooted and google play install do one need to root again if you hard reset your unit?
Shouldn't. I have rooted using RDLV and have reset w/o loosing root.
2. does rooting trip knox?
It did on mine. But there seems to be some who have done it without tripping Knox. Check the forum.
3. is there much chinese bloatware that you cannot delete?
Once you root you can remove almost everything. Search the forum for a list of prog you can safely delete.
4. problems encountered the unit being released only in china?
None really. You can add Google apps, ie Play, Mail, Hangouts, Calendar. If you change the CSC settings, you will be able to set your default search, calender, etc. But read up on how to do that first, you need to back up as it will cause a reboot and loss of data.

Who gives a crap about knox anyway? This is a phone from China, if you will import it to another country, it will not have local warranty. You are not gonna send it to China if ever you need it repaired right? So go ahead and root, flash google apps, and remove all those chinese crapwares.
Im driving right now, but if needed still, i will post a link for a guide on how to do the basics in turning the n9002 to something as close as possible to n9005.

What, the last one got archived!? It was a bit long but got me off to a start and the RIP made it even better. Anyway, I best not mention that.
Well I have checked back because today I just added my 2nd sim. That's 1 Unicom, and 1 China Mobile (some westerners do live in China). It's working and the beauty is: Unicom's data seems good, but China Mobile 's national and international call rates seem better.
I am still interested in getting the best out of my N9002. I am still having a few issues and it's hard to know if they are ROM based or other. Anyway, minor issues, this phone is the best I have owned.

What kind of issues are you getting? I am on stock (mk1) firmware, perhaps we can compare what were experiencing so we can determine if its rom related or not.
Guys i also installed xposes framework and now my gmail and chrome beta is tablet mode cool. Remember is theee are gapps error it usually means the app u running must be uninstalled and reinstall as it could have the old xaxhe prior to installing google. Everthing working for me inchluding google plus and also cards. Everything

Fellow dual sim note 3 users, now that samsung's 4.4 update is right around the corner, i am starting to look around how we can get the 4.4 update working on our phones.
Im thinking once samsung releases the 4.4 firmware, it will be on sammobile for sure. I will download and flash it on my phone. Naturally, i will lose root, and google apps. I will have to root and flash google apps again. Question is, where are we going to get the 4.4 gapps package? I found this site and it also contains the 4.3 gapps that was listed in mark daviid's method:
http://www.teamandroid.com/gapps/
What do you guys think?

Great idea. What is your current setup on your phone? I am on ZNUDMK1 Rom ZNUDMJ6 Baseband, rooted using RDLV, 4.3, Gapps installed, but I hear that the new ROM's have made it impossible to root for now.
Will it be worth while to do the 4.4 update?
Could someone miraclously discover how to enable lte? Maybe possible?

Im on mk1 rom and mj6 baseband too. I rooted using cf autoroot and flashed gapps 4.3 thru odin. Yes, its impossible to root the newer roms now without tripping knox. Cf autoroot still works but it trips knox - which i couldnt care less about anyway.
I will definitely upgrade to 4.4. I think the android runtime is really something to look forward to.

[Q] Honor 6 x PE-TL 10, need help to update and root!

Hello, i have bought a Honor 6 x (PE-TL 10) in germany at amazone.
The firmware is PE-TL10V100R001C900B142. On the huawei homepage i found a firmware B173 but i can't install.
I have tried to unlock the phone but no success. I really would like to root my phone.
I whould appreciate your help!
Sorry for my bad english. :silly:

Well it worked to unlock the phone and to root. The only problem as before is not an update that works.
I suspect that the ROM was made for the european area and therefore the update version of the Chinese server is not working.

Hi, I have a Chinese version and yes, it has NFC. I am on B185 (PE-TL10V100R001CHNC00B185) at the moment but looking for compatible UK or EU version of firmware to get rid of the last of the Chinese characters in some menus. Now they sell this to Three customers, I was hoping to find a UK firmware version, so if you find one let me know too please.

Also, I have problems with the message about Google Play services has stopped and I can not see when I 'm sailing Maps , so it's disgusting .
I have being taking a look this official website of EMUI http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=125. You can download the last stable version, the B173, but I am so stupid to do this. Have somebody tested one of them? How to do?
THank you guys. I need you help. GOogle play services message is the worst.

Download GPS Test from the play store and use it to clear agps data and then get agps data. Fixed the GPS issue for me.
Clear data and uninstall updates for Google play store and Google play services, then delete all Google accounts from the phone. Reboot, add your Google account and log back in to chrome, gmail, etc. This should fix the play services crash. Using G+ sometimes made it start crashing again for me but that was before I did the agps thing and I'm fairly sure the play services crash is a location issue as if you set location to device only and turn off location history it stops popping up.
I've tried your method and It looks like google play services doesn't disturb anymore. However, I will wait several days more...
Thank you!
Somebody has tested the firmwares I told you, guys?

Huawei P8 Removing Chinese Firmware and Installing European

Hello,
I just bought a new Huawei P8 GRA-UL00 from China and currently the device has GRA-UL00C00B153 build EMUI 3.1.
I live in Europe and even I have chosen the English language settings, the device still has many Chinese specific notifiers, apps, and some other stuff and as you know, there are restrictions on google services, play store, etc..
I searched over the forum and also some other resources to learn whether it is possible to modify the phone as to be purchased in Europe. After I read many discussions, I am now highly confused.
Do I need to unblock and root the device for removing the Chinese stuff or is it also possible to do it by finding and installing a European firmware (if exists) from the manufacturer?
I will be pleased if you guys can help me in this issue.

Hello,
I live in France and I have the same problem on my P8 GRA-UL10 with a B183 China ROM version.
I can easily upgrade to an other B173 China ROM version but I can't upgrade to B143 General ROM version.
How to install a B141 General ROM version ? Do I have to unlock the bootloader ?
Thanks in advance
Greetings
Your best option is to select the ROM produced for Europe.
After preparation ROM root the phone and then unlocking the bootloader downgrade supplier.
Most likely your problem will be solved.
good luck.

HuaWei Watch 2 2018 version DLxxE English version or international rom help

Hello,
Just got this watch here in China, everything is in Chinese (ofcourse) but i find it really hard to use this way, i asked Huawei and they claim that this version (DLXXE) doesnt have an international rom - is this true ?
Again - its not the Pro version, its the 2018 version
owde.180707.001.H1
If someone please direct me to an international rom it would be really appreciated - at the same time, if someone know what will i be missing if i switch to this version ? would i be able to use Wechat pay/Alipay still ?
Thank you

I have the normal sport watch and yours LTE version. Before buying the watch in China i had confirmed with many Huawei stores that watch can install English OS but alas after buying the watch it couldnt be done via the chinese OS. You have to unlock the bootloader then install the English rom then close the bootloader again. Once on English rom you can update to the latest OS. Instructions are there in the forum. However i got lazy after years of rooting and hacking and being on IOS mostly and took the help of Sunny mention below. He will charge a fee and remotely installed the English OS.
PS. Dm me for alipay apk which i downloaded from some chinese website its an earlier version but works. It works beautifully from phone for paying with English. Care to tell how you got the wechat pay on the phone? While i had the Chinese rom for a day i cant remember i had wechat pay installed then.
Thank you for your answer - but to confirm, you have the version of the watch with the SIM slot ? this version im talking about is the Esim version and i suspect this is the reason why no int ROM was made for it, as it would render the Esim useless.
Do you think that if i try to put the rom as you suggest it would work on this watch as well?

I am not sure if there is an Esim English version. So yes if there is no English E-sim version then could be an issue.
My bad i didnt realise that wasnt the case. My watch is normal BT watch.
I am not sure if it would be advisable to install a rom which is not for your watch and even if it does work then probably you wont have the E-sim function. Just my guess. Sorry if my reply didnt help you further. Wearos scene in China and worldwide is a mess. I cant install the huawei market app on my phone or cant find 1 apk for it.

I've done quite a bit of research into this. It's not a simple process as for example Xiaomi.
It will involve resizing the system partition among other partitions.

No sorry, this was a tangent regarding the RMX2075 (UK) getting the RMX2076EU update which was posted on the UK site.
Probably they just named it wrong. Sorry, I don't have the RMX2017 (CN) (but isn't it 2071 lol).
Just as an interest, what's wrong with the CN version?

As per my first analysis, RM2071 (CN) did not bring the majority of the languages (in my case, I need PT), just CN, EN and other two or three asian languages. It does not have Google Play store although it is possible to install it separatedly.
Finally there are many CN apps that comes together and when using EN, some untranslated texts in CN are still appearing in many screens.

Google maps Timeline can not be enabled on RMX2071(CN) version.
Disappointed with Chinese Rom
I also own a RMX2071 version.
To be honest I'm disappointed as my expectations with this phone were too high.
Here are my remarks:
Breeno is only in Chinese and you cannot download EU voices,
Global search is only retrieving Chinese news,
Impossible to fully replace Breeno with Google Assistant (shortcut will still launch Breeno instead of GA, GA will not produce notification sound when activated...)
Some software and some rare options are not translated in my language (I set the FR language and still Chinese texte)
Security check is done for all app you are downloading from Google store (which leads sometimes to Play Store crash)
Google Chrome is freezing from time to time
I need to switch mobile data off and on to get back internet (specially after leaving the phone locked for a while).
I need to switch mobile data off and on right after a call or I'll not be able to get Internet...
Regards

I'm selling mine and going back to Xiaomi
Before selling this phone I'll try to remove all those Chinese stuff.... I found this on the Realme X2 forum. Both phones share the same os.
