Am I missing something here? I dont see an option to restart phone all i see is power off...
Sadly reboot was never an option built into the OS ... not sure why :what:
But you can do this for a reboot https://motorola-global-portal.cust...o-i-force-my-droid-razr-to-reboot-or-restart?
Or, obviously, just power off then back on.

I did a search but no solutions came up.
Basically, when I touch the screen to move the little lock icon over to unlock it nothing happens.
I powered it off by holding power for 10 seconds and then powered it on again.
No bueno, nothing happened.
Anyone else run into this and was able to solve it?
yes, i had the same problem, you will not like this..
do one step at the time and check if it works, if not continue to the next one
1. cold reboot (hold power button for 30-60 seconds),
you can try step 1 several times
2. turn it off, let it charge for 2-3 hours, turn it on
3. reboot to safe mode (this not really sure how i did it..lol.. i think is, turn off and turn on and quickly hold both volume keys until it boots up, if you did it correctly it will boot and say "safe mode" at the bottom left corner).
4. reset to factory settings, hold volume (-) and power key at the same time, (this will erase everything)
when i had this problem, i actually had to cold rebooted several times and reboot into safe mode after step 4 to have the touchscreen working again..I was about this close () to give up and return it to walmart..
I had the same thing happen to me, and all the rebooting in the world couldn't fix it. I don't know if you're still on stock rom or not, but what I did was reflashed the Prime rom and it worked again.
Nothing helped, even hard wipe.
Returned the TF.
I had this same problem... Unfortunately the only thing that worked was letting the power drain out. That was a huge pain because the Transformer has a killer battery and there are only so many times you can turn the screen on and off to drain it. It took about 4-5 days to fully drain. After that point I had upgraded to 3.1 and it has worked flawlessly since then... definitely a firmware problem not hardware.
I dont know what happen I might have hit Ok to update the system i was driving and trying to listen to the navagation so not sure what happen

For future reference, it's not always a good idea to play with ROMs and such on a device you NEED for work or whatever.
Ive noticed lots of people taking their battery out of their precious sensations , to go into bootloader or that seemingly pointless SAFE MODE .
there is absolutely no need to do that !!
you can :
turn off "Fast Boot" under settings->power and the phone will power off.
OR if you like the fast boot use the restart option ,but remember it turns it on again, right away.
so restart the device and for bootloader just press VOL down , after its off.
and to go to that safe mode, wait for the phone to turn on again, and press VOL down
take care of your phones..
thanks Elvis_Freshly for your notes. you're right, we're cool.

so lets make it clear for those who missed it:
-the power off is like hibernation in windows, it doesnt really shuts your phone off.
-the restart option does, but it turns it on again, right away.
so restart the device:
for bootloader just press VOL down , after its off.

Actually all they have to do is turn off "Fast Boot" and the phone will power off.
Fast boot is what causes the phone to "sleep".
There is no need for bolding your post, as your information is semi-inaccurate in itself.
I know you meant to be helpful but it came across as rude and like they're stupid.
but its crazy to take the battery out every time, and people are doing it.
[Q]Can't get into Recovery Mode, possibly due 2 "sticky" power button. It got worse
Couple of things first to lay down the situation.
I'm on BEAN Builds 19,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973982
I'm also using ClockworkMod Recovery. Not sure what version.
Now my power button is one of those "sticky" ones, where it's not springy. This has caused me a few problems in which I can't seem to use the button to turn on my phone anymore. If the phone is off, I have to pull the battery, and then re=insert it to turn the phone back on. Also I'm not sure if button is "being held down", since it's so sticky, but the quick toggle options in the ROM for Restart and Recovery don't work. When I use the quick toggle for restart, my phone just turns off, and doesn't restart. As for recovery, I'll touch on that below.
Today I wanted to flash myself a new modem. So I tried to get into Recovery mode. I go into there once after a couple of tries, but the Power Button , being in the down position from the "sticky button", hit the option to restart the phone before I could flash anything/do anything. After a couple of tries of unsuccessfully getting into Recovery Mode the normal holding down buttons way, I decided to try the quick toggle in the rom to get into Recovery mode.
But just like hitting the restart option, it didn't do what I wanted it to do. My phone shut off, but that was it. Now when I try to battery pull and reinsert to get the phone to turn back on, all it does is show the Samsung Logo, turn black, and that's it. I'm assuming that it's trying to boot into Recovery Mode since that's what it was last told to do before I shut off my phone, and I also think that the "sticky power button" is throwing off the phone's attempts to do that.
Any help or direction would be great and much appreciated. Thank you for your time you took to read this.
Bang ur fone on a table. Seriously ppl been doing that on ur situation to pop out the power button. Try to cover ur fone or put a cloth on table so ur fone wont get scratch and stuff

I've got a very similar issue. Only difference is my power button is not stuck at all. However regardless of how I try to enter recovery/Download/ or simply to restart my phone I often times have to try 10 - 15 times before anything other than the Samsung splash screen into black screen of ??? Happens. Up until 5 minutes ago and hopefully for good something somehow decides to let the phone do as I had asked(told) it to do. Wish I had an answer or some help for you instead of reporting the same problem. Hopefully someone out there does.

Did you open up your phone and meter the button? If not its probably sticking. The button you see on the outside is just a contact not the actual button so it won't look compressed. Sounds like your problem is super sensitive button which is related to the sticking button in fact it was what happened to me beforeit started sticking.

There is an A7 2018 with lockscreen on, but the owner don't remember it. So it need to be remove by resetting the phone. However, unlike all the video on the net, this phone actually at the screen where "password is required after restart", not the actual lockscreen itself. This is where the problem lies. I've tried getting into recovery mode with the button combination, but the phone won't get into it. There is no turning off the phone, because it requires password to do so. I've tried everything, vol up+power, vol down+power, vol down+power and when the screen turned off switch to vol up+power, and repeat them all in case I didn't time it right. The phone just won't boot into recovery. Also, it won't goes into download mode as well.
So, was it the phone's security that was blocking me, or I just haven't tried everything yet. Spent half a day working on this phone, ended up nowhere.
Forced reboot is done by holding VOL DOWN + POWER for around 7 seconds. Once it's rebooting, hold VOL UP + VOL DOWN and plug usb. You have to do this when the phone is off and not yet vibrated when turning on.
I will try to find some way to help, but force reboot should work ALWAYS.

Force reboot does worked, every single time. But it just won't reboot into recovery. Thats the problem. Can't reset the phone without going into recovery. Or is there any other way?

and i CANNOT..
nothing works..
volume up + power, phone is just rebooted
volume down + power, phone is just rebooted
volume up + volume down + power, phone is just rebooted
"and.. this is a problem"

Its off alright, tried checking it with command prompt and nothing shows up.
I always leave service centre as the last resort.
,.... There is "a phone". .... And the owner " does not remember the password"....
These things make my alarmbell go off.
I don't say you stole this phone or anything, but I am not going to teach you how to unlock safety on a phone because there is a good reason that safety feature is there.
Contact a service centre and good luck.

Oh come on, there is not a single thief in this world that will lose time to check forums and waste hours like the colleague above or me ,trying to fix a phone ! All with gsm repair services had stolen phones in their hands for sure ! If one customer comes and says give me *lets say half the price for a s9* for a s9 , you wouldnt give them the money and buy the phone? of course you would ! We are all humans trying to make a living. Extremely few people would hold back and ask questions ! And sometimes , when buying phones, you can get some that are stolen, can`t catch the thief, can`t recover your money ,unless you remove frp, bypass security, remove icloud , thats just the way things work ! no point in hiding behind a finger. You sometimes get rekt ! and buy stolen phones without even knowing, or willingly buying, because if not, the competitor will buy it and ruin the market price for you ! Good luck to you all !
