I have had my GSIII for appox 3 weeks now. I had a galaxy nexus, and i was very impressed with the LTE speeds at about 32MBPS!
Well i have beat that speed, by a land slide. Post your speeds!

The best I ever got on my GS3 is in my sig. Usually about a little less than half that much on AVG.
Ive got about 40/20 before but usually its around 20/15 for me

Best I have had was 60 down and 25 up! 4G was super fast that night.

47/21 for me,
avg is 30/10
The best I have in my SpeedTest history is 33/14.5.
What I'm most proud of is what I get at home. I'm in a really fringe area. Turn left or right out of my complex and go about a few hundred feet and you're in a dead zone. It's kinda hilly so my house must be in a sweet spot.
Anyway, with my Galaxy Nexus I would average about 4/1.5. I would occasionally see 5-6/2 but not often. And as soon as I even looked at my phone it would drop to 3g. With my GS3 my best speed at home with the phone in the same spot as GNex was 21/4! I average 15/5 there usually. Not too shabby considering I am way out in the boonies.
About 35/20 is the best I've seen, but I only really tested it when I first got a 4g phone.
35-40 in the good areas. 20-28 avg. 10-12 in some bad areas.
It's funny how we have been spoiled with the fast speeds. I feel let down when mine is below 20mbps. I would have killed for those speeds in the 3g days.
12/6 with full bars. Rarely is it better than 25/10. The LTE blows here. My buddys TMo S3 gets 25/15 constantly.
I got 64mbps down.

You'll really have to be careful with your data cap. My LTE at home makes me wish my cable modem was as fast. Sucks having to go on WiFi now.

I've been as high as 66 down but usually around 60-64 down is normal. This is a normal screen shot from home.
Don't know what's wrong with the upload speed.

I average about 55/25 at home and 35/10 at work. To be fair if I had a decent slingshot I could nail my VZW tower from my backyard.
My best is 15 down. Average is like 4.. lol
just deleted my logs but...
My area just went 4g 3 weeks ago and outdoors I'm averaging around 30Mbps/16Mbps.
Indoors it's more like 13/4.
I'm happy but I'm sure Verizon is getting annoyed with my unlimited data usage in the SpeedTest app!!

I am wondering what kind of throughput others are getting.
Today at an intersection in Jupiter, FL I noticed full signal and decided to try Speedtest through Miami server: 9400kbs down/1250 kbs up. Captivate usually around one-third of that....and yes wi-fi was off

well im happy. it's not quite "4g" yet because my area doesn't have the backend for it. but it is better than the <1mbps that verizon phones see. some places the market wont even work on verizon 3g because there speeds are in the 100kbps area. t-mo is cool but coverage is not great.
Bump.
I'd like to see what speeds others have experienced with their Infuse. I'm curious because my GF's Infuse (see thumbnail) consistently gets 6-7 mbps down and .7-1.2 up. While my Inspire's upload is more consistent, my download (in the same spot, at the same time, to the same server) is usually significantly lower than the Infuse. Impressive. I've seen as high as 9+ mbps as well, and it hasn't been odd to hit those speeds, as they've occurred numerous times.
Same here infuse dl is much higher thsn inspire when tested back to back not at the same time infuse avg was 11 mbs down while indpire was 4.5 down uplaod was the same

Yea, I hate to champion one corrupt corporation over another, but I'd much rather be on at&t's network since the fall-back network is still leaps and bounds faster than Verizon's fall-back network (and they have had a number of outages on their LTE network this year so far). Fortunately I live in San Antonio so I have access to 3 major carriers' LTE networks.
That said, at&t can piss off with their restrictive policies. I only hate Verizon slightly more.
But my God 25mbs is amazing if could offer that every where I pay tom more I just wish my wifi that fast

Get around the same as you two, would take a shot but I literally live a block away from where it stops. How about on 3G too? I get terrible speeds compared to my last phones, under a MB for each. .97 d/l and .40 u/l.
People keep telling me those are "normal", sure maybe for them but not for me where I live.

Not going to post my current speed test, because I'm away for the weekend in the middle of no where and the closest server has massive lag... it showed me as having about a .03 mbps download last night. I know it's better than that.
My 3G speeds in the real world though have been pretty standard compared to my previous phones, however. If I remember when I get home Monday I might post a screen.

So how long did your area (City/Town) take to fully turn on your 4G? Reason I'm asking is because today all day I had 4G which I was shocked to see because I'm not in a 4G area. Obviously this means that they are testing it I would assume?

I'm over in Oregon and there is still no 4G i my area. From what I heard is that Verizon contracted a company to lay the cables and then they sub contracted it to Century Link. Well CL dropped the ball and now we have to wait even longer for 4G.

I think they are expanding in Syracuse, not rolling it out. I am pretty sure they already have 4G. I am about 70 miles south of Syracuse and I am not expecting anything different by us. I am pretty sure that 4G has much shorter range so changes further away don't really impact surrounding areas.

Well according to the article in the OP, Syracuse is listed under the category of "expand the existing 4G LTE"...take that for what it is worth I guess.
I don't see what the fuss is about unless your on a grandfathered unlimited plan since with the new shared plans, Verizon lets you surf the web and check your email, anything else will drain your mbs for each month. Its totally bassakwards, they put up more towers rolling out 4GLTE, but with their new limitations, 4G speed is kind of irrelivent if you hardly get the chance to use it IMO.

I have a year left on my unlimited contract with verizon if they ever switch me to a limited data plan ill leave. do they care maybe not but i am not gonna watch a youtube video then run to see where my data limit is on a damn widget for $29.99 a month data. its insane to me that people are willing to do this.
i dont use alot of data maybe 4gb a month my moms line uses about 2gb were both unlimited but its the idea that we would have to worry about how much data were using when i pay more for my phones internet then i do on my homes internet i shouldn't have to think about it. its my account with 3 lines i pay for my moms line fyi.
