I've used all the above and keep reverting back to calengoo our business calendar. Calengoo is loaded with options whereas business calendar is more basic. Both are great choices

Tried those and still dont like them.
Anyone have the apk for the one from synergyrom?

I know y i couldn't get that calender widget. I was running Nova Launcher, which doesn't have that widget. Its only in the Touchwiz launcher. So, i cant use it while running Nova. Unless someone know how to make it work. So now i have a choice. Keep nova or switch to touchwiz.

The Feeds and Updates widget is dependent on touchwiz. Most people are trying to get as far away from touchwiz as possible, so I don't think anyone has bothered trying to port it over to any of the custom roms. Pure Messenger widget and Launcher Pro Plus Friends widget are comparable substitutes available in the market.
Great! Thanks

Calender Widget

Anybody know of a good calendar widget that's something like the stock Calender widget? I'm looking for one that just doesn't show the calender but one that shows upcoming events. Pure calender widget sucks.

I like smooth calendar, which I believe was free. Doesn't take up too much space on the screen and is easily customizable.

Are there any calenders that will import Google calender's event colors? So annoying seeing all my events the same color, gets confusing.

Calengoo. That is one reason that I went with it, as I too got annoyed at trying to make sure the colors stayed consistent.
I like Agenda Widget.
I use CalWidget, does what I need it to do. Just displays whats coming up, you can also use custom colors and such.

Edit original Circle widget for use on another launcher?

Hi all...
...can you tell me, if is possible edit ORIGINAL moto circle widget for use on another launcher???
...on adw etc???
Good question...will look into it!
The only thing simple is the belief in simplicity.
I just thought I would mention this as an alternative: I saw a theme someone had made, and he had what looked like the Moto circles widget, but it turned out to be Ultimate Custom Widget from the market. It seems that widget is super customizable, with tons of skins and stuff. It might be a good option for people who aren't able to use the stock circle widget.

It has the same looks, but none of the functionality. I tried it a few months back on my Note 10.1.

Over the winter break, I'll look into this and see what it takes to make it work on other launchers. I imagine its just a few simple lines much like it is with multiwindow apps on the Note 10.1 and Note 2.
I'm done with finals Wednesday, so I'll probably crack it open Thursday or Friday.

I would *love* it if you could manage that somehow....I hate having to choose between keeping the circle widget and using a different launcher.
if it helps when you get to working on this there is some code that pertains to the circle widget in the stock launcher might be what the widget looks for on trying to load it.
Cool widget but damn, mine is refusing to update today, hasn't updated since 9:04 this morning. i was about 40 miles away from home, and couldn't get it to update location/weather when i tapped the weather circle to go to the weather app. And i can't find a refresh button or option anywhere. I have all 3 location services checked in settings. Still won't update... anyone ever have this problem with it?
I haven't forgotten about this, I promise. I've just been lazy and enjoying my first week and a half off.
I need to recreate my dev environment and get all my editing tools back, that's what has kept me off of doing this so far.

Just now opened it up and took a look inside. It's going to take me a while to dig through all the code in this thing, there's a lot.
If anyone wants to help and dig through the code with me, I attached the decompiled apk. Use notepad++ or something to view the xml's and .smali's.
I admit defeat.

[Q] Launcher question

I'm on the lookout for a new launcher, maybe.
I'd really like one that shows notification badges (not sure if Xperia does) for all apps (especially K9). Apex only shows notifications for Gmail accounts, and even then I can't seem to get them working recently.
I know that the Tesla Unread plugin shows the notifications on Widget Locker, but does it also work with Nova?
I'm not interested in going back to Go Launcher at all, and I'm not looking at the launchers that are $15.
The ability to customize icons would be nice, but won't affect my decision if something better is out there.
Help me out. I've not used any launchers except Go and Apex for quite some time, so I'm not even sure what's out there and good.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I'm on Nova using Tesla unread notification. I can confirm that it works on Gmail, Samsung emails, messenger, gTalk & goSMS.
I used goLauncher before but it lagged on Embryo 6.1 rom. Was lucky to purchase Nova during Play Store 25ยข sale.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, I missed that sale unfortunately.
I'm going back and forth between Nova Prime and Holo HD, unless someone else has another question.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
A few hours later I notice...
That should say "suggestion", not question...
Now then, if I'm choosing between Holo or Nova, is there a way in either to check for beta versions?

It is different, but not exactly what I'm looking for. To me, MIUI looks more iPhone-ish than I really want.

Tesla unread will not work with free Nova.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I know that. If I choose Nova (over Holo HD or others) I will be purchasing Nova Prime.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
My vote is for nova. Great customization options, you have the option of beta version or stable, and yes, k9 mail is available for the count badges.
Pretty sure that sealed the deal for me, thanks!
One off-topic question, though...
What theme are you using in those screenshots? I like it a lot.
Subzero... You can find it here on xda

I confirm Tesla unread notification with Nova (prime) works perfectly with K-9.
Have fun and enjoy.
I use the Xperia Z Launcher, and I love it. It is pretty amazing, except that when at the home screen, pressing the menu button doesn't let you go to settings. You have to find it in your apps.
That is one little annoyance, but other than that it is a great and customizable launcher.

Good calendar app instead of Google Calendar?

I am so used to the calendar app from my Samsung SII (E4GT) that I never really used google calendar on my phone and on my N5 it just stinks. On my tablet google calendar is fine and so are the widgets but on the phone not so much. Worst thing is not having a nice month view that lists items instead of just showing colors.
So what is a good alternative? I only use google calendar so I am not syncing with other email services and I have a shared google calendar with the wife so need to keep that in one place.
Thanks
I use Neat Calendar widget with the stock calendar, works well for me.

Hmm, text mod? Do you mean there is a mod for the stock google calendar app that enables text on month view?
Interesting if true...

Where did you get Any.cal. The play store links seems down, i hadn't luck with their community either.
I signed up for their beta a while ago on the any.do website. You can try there and see if they still have it going.

At the very bottom is a let me know when it arrives. That is what I did and I got the invite later. Much later though.
Hi, friends!
I am using amazing Pimlical Advanced Calendar/PIM (I can not post the link to this app due to the rules of XDA forum) . I have use for years DateBk5 from same developer on my Palm.
Also I use Next Launcher 3D with its calendar widget.
My question is: how can I force calendar widget open Pimlical Advanced Calendar/PIM instead pf stock calendar?
The"Clear defaults" in stock calendar is greyed and I can set Pimlical Advanced Calendar/PIM as my default calendar application.
Any hint, please.
