Yes, slide kb open while phone is off, press and hold X key, power on the phone as usual, then when you get the triangle with the exclamation mark, release X and press the magnifying glass button (the one just under X). You will be greeted with the stock recovery menu.

I found instructions on how to wipe data/cache for xt926 by holding volume up + down + power and selecting recovery, then hold volume up + down when android guy with triangle comes up. Can someone with a xt925 on rogers/fido give it a try. When I tried it, i can never get it to go past the android guy with triangle. I wonder if rogers/fido gimped the recovery on purpose...

Are you on ICS or JB system ROM?
I have a Rogers XT925 and was able to do the VOL- and VOL+ buttons simultaniously. Actually, I held down the VOL- button and pressed VOL+ and it worked for me.
FYI, my qe is 0/0

On JB now, which is why I need to wipe data/cache. After the OTA to JB, my phone just burns the charge in like 6 hours, someone suggested to wipe data and cache.

I would say to let it run for an entire day without rebooting. You night be stuck building your media cache. I've seen that in the past.

Not familiar with media cache, does it still apply if i have no songs, video or that kind of files on there?
Also, do you mind sharing the dummies step by step on how to get to the recovery menu, tried again, still won't go past the android dude with the triangle icon.
Thanks!

Need more info. What did you do to the phone before this began? Did you try flashing something? Delete system files on accident? Are you rooted? Unlocked bootloader?

Get past red triangle
When booting your phone hold the power volume up and down at the same time until you get to the recovery screen. If you see the dead android and the red triangle hold the volume down and press volume up and it should go to your recovery screen . hope this helps
