ok. i will have a check with clear temp. did not explore the newer version as i prefer to us sktools..
but i will still prefer standalone htc twitter cache cleaner
I tried cleartemp and it did not work, every time i update twitter it causes sense to crash.
Been working fine for weeks and suddenly i have a problem. Im in the process of chatting to HTC to resolve, unless someone can suggest where to look??

i have the same problem, please help
It's simple... when you know it
First go to settings and turn off Sence.
Now go with explorer to device\temp\twitEng
Empty the folders Cache and Db.
Turn Sence back on, and your done.
On the Twitter tab you have to sign in again.
Sometimes when you sign in again, it keeps asking you to sign in.
When this is the case, do a soft reset and everything works.
Good luck
Hey guys just a heads up that the Twitter API has been having issues for the past few days causing the tab to crash sense.
LOL,
Yh i managed to figure out the procedure myself last night but didnt have time to post it here
@Chris, just remember to show all files if using File explorer and that you may need to rename a file to anything you want temporily as it will not delete/corrupted, you should then be able to delete the last file. If your using total comm. then shouldnt be a problem.
@Zelendel - yh figured there had been a problem, but hy HD wouldnt work even after Twitters API issue had been resolved, but clearing all files worked
Of course if you wanted you could change the custom files in cleartemp to do this for you, but hey it only took a min or two, so why bother lol.
Now it would be good if HTC did a hotfix that regularly deleted these files as it will of course happen again depending on usage, but hey....
Case resolved.

I know some of you have been having problems with a force close message that looks like this: Android.process.media is not responding please force close or retry.
I have done search after search only to find one way that ultimately fixes this annoying every second force close message.
1. Make sure your phone is rooted.
2. Using a file explorer of your choice go into the directories as follows:
/system/app/
3. Delete this file from the menu, mediaprovider.apk
4. Force close messages will now stop. Horray!
If you have questions post them. I will do my best to answer.

i tried it on my G2 and it hasn't worked yet. Had to give ES FileExplorer root.
Have a great morning!
..........
media.process force close issue rooted htc desire
I fixed this problem without any further issues by clearing the download cache - I'm just as surprised as you.
staplesdroid said:
Yea like I said you must have a rooted phone!!!. Did it work after you gave es file root?
Another great program in root explorer. You can get it from ww w. 4shared .co m
Go there type in rootexplorer .apk and it will have multiple downloads. Just pick one and run it.
You can get all the paid apps for free like that. Just type in .apk after the app you want is typed in for example: rootexplorer .apk or irunner .apk or androidbanking .apk..... you get the picture?

Or you could get it from the market, and pay for it, and support the developers. But if you want to be a thief, that's your decision.

+ 1, a one time payment of $4 for something useful is nothing.

why patronize piracy?
I live in Asia, where pirated software/apps are more prevalent than legit ones. That is because software like Microsoft Windows is economically out of reach for the man on the street.
But $3.99? Come on! We shouldn't expect devs to continue churning out useful code without getting paid for it. If the developers of Titanium Backup or Root Toolbox had decided early on that it wasn't worth it to develop apps for Android or WinMo, we'd all still be in the Dark Ages of the cellphone era. Making custom ROMs is not the same. For one, many of them were based on stock firmware--which were made by highly-paid software engineers at phone makers in the first place.
What the Android Market offers for free, I download for free. When it has a price and I need it, I pay for it. Simple as that.
1) the fix listed above worked perfectly for me. (HD2, gingerbread, CM7)
2) paying for an app is the right thing to do. free ones are preferred, of course. you know it, i know it, they know it. support open source, support the community. pay it forward.

Yep, this is actually a horrible fix. For me, it did nothing except stop me from accessing any of my media. So if you don't care about listening to music, viewing any photos, having ringtones, viewing video you have taken etc, this MIGHT work for you. I had to dig out the mediaprovider.apk from the .zip of my ROM and replace it.
I fixed mine by restoring my last Titanium Backup ("restore all apps with data"). Whatever was corrupted was restored back to working order. I understand that not everyone has Titanium Backup, but it has save my a$$ a couple of times now when an app or system file has started acting weird. Root your phone and get TB, it's so worth it.
EDIT: OK, so the problem came back after I replaced mediaprovider.apk, so apologies for that. I booted into recovery and did a factory/data reset, then restored my Titanium Backup, and all seems to be good now. Again, I understand this may not help everyone, but it worked for me, and it avoids deleting apk files without fully understanding what effect it will have.
Help
I have a droid 2 global. i tried deleting the file and it says i cant. is there anything else i can do? i cant access my pics, music, or market.

I had the same problem with my Asus transformer. In addition the default Music player did not work anymore as it used to (played the wrong numbers).
The above solution did not work for me (I could get to the files mentioned without rooting).
Sofar I got the problem solved as followed.
1. I found an new version 4 of the Music player (com.google.android.misic.4.0.9.apk) and installed this version
2. This by itself did not solve anything, but now I could reinstall the factory original version and now everything is OK.
No forced closing anymore and the default player works as before
I hope it stays this way.

alfred
I've just updated to latest Oxygen on my Huawei U8800, and was having that same issue.
After reading this post, I've updated with TB the application "[Playlists] Media Storage 2.3.7 (10)" and it solved it.
It seems that my custom playlists of the music app were causing it...
I installed a ROM and the market app is black and says " The application Market (process com.adroid.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Any ideas?
Try the thread for the Rom, someone else might have same issue.

This is WHY they have minimum post settings.
I spent a week reading about the bolt, how to root it, etc., etc. Before doing anything. Read, and then read some more before tinkering around with it. Use nandroid backup before making changes.

I know there is some issues with market on the mr2 radio as far as the way the dev of your Rom needed to set it up so it would allow downloading of certain protected apps but sounds like you are taking right steps to try and get back to a functioning market

I have had the same issues and this fixed it.
I posted a topic about this about a week ago after installing MR2. There is an issue with Google recognizing and updating your info that is in some way related to the 4G SIM.
I kid you not....this is how to fix it...... It has happened to me twice the last week as I got an AE.
1. Wait. No matter what I did, it seemed to never "Come back" until about 48 hrs.
2. Clear the Market cache and data
3. Stop the market service
4. Sing into and out of Google talk like you are on OCD.
Pissed the second day I had this happened, I was sitting at a bar listening to some girl go on and on about something so I started signing in and out of Google talk like 14 - 16 times....... Opened the market...no problem!
For "Must have apps, go to the online market place via your computer and push them to your phone. That always worked for me no matter what. Good luck!
Hi, I need some help beta testing my app HelpMe. I would really appreciate it if I could get help testing the email and location functionality. I don't have an android device so I can't test that functionatliy myself. All I'm asking is that you take a second and let me know if the email functionality works and/or if location functionality works properly. If there is anything I can do to help you in return I will be glad to.
Thank you very much.
App can be downloaded from the android market at https://market.android.com/details?id=com.HelpMe
..
is there a widget for it? if there isn't, please add it. If you get into trouble and desperately need help, its not like you have the time to open the app drawer and search for "Help Me" icon..
Good suggestion. I'll have to look into widgets, not sure what they are. Did you get a chance to test the app? Results.
Thanks again for the great suggestion.
You don't need a widget, one can just put a shortcut of the app on the home screen, so it is at hand when needed.
On the other hand a nice app icon would be nice.
Now to the program itself, it does not work on my device and rom according to my signature. Everytime when i try to open it it closes with an error message witch i cannot see correctly as it also closes immediately.

That's odd since nothing changed. If it worked before it should work now.
Hello,
I post my doubts here because I can not write in the development subforum yet, and I have several questions about this great ROM.
I've been using it since MIUI v4 was published and I have some questions that I have not managed to solve, because they are problems that in the official MIUI ROM are solved, but in my g3 not, and I have not found references to this problems in the forum.
- Can I change the icons? I find no where I can do it.
- How will the problem of preview of the camera? Today comes the build 2.4.6 MIUI and in this there is no problem, and there are programs that I need to use it and do not work because of this problem.
- When I connect my g3 to my pc whit the data cable, my pc din't see it. I have the "Debug mode when USB is connected" activate. It's a bug or I have to do something special to fix it?
- I can't use any other ringtone than the ones that comes whit the ROM. I can select any song of my SD, but it's like selecting "none" as ringtone. How can I change it?
- Why don't you delete the torch app that it's useless in the g3?
Finally I have to say congratulations to all the developers for a great job. It's amazing what you are doing!!! Than you!!
Sorry for my bad english.
me too like miui alot
- use opre 1.2 for usb connection it works really good
- camera preview is a bug which is yet to be fixed so be patient
-about the ringtones i too have the same problem which is also will be fixed ,message and notification works fine but ringtones does not work properly gives me a head ache
-you can delete the torch application , may be in next build they will do it
- you can change the icons themes-customize-icons ,but i dont think you can change an individual icon like we do in launchers ,call icon is going to be fixed in the next build or hotfix
-devs are on it you just need to be paitent and if you cant try someother rom until they standardise it ,and hope for the best
Thank you very much sudersanmurthy ,
I know that this are minor "bugs" in a ROM, but there are no cuestions about it in the post of the MIUI v4, so I don't know if this are only a problem of my g3 or of the ROM, and I only want to help the developers to make the better ROM for our g3. I've tried other ROMs, even final versions, and are more instable than this one!!
So I wait till the end of t... well, the time the developers need, of course
No probs its good to see this thread anyway beacause i too cant post it on dev section yet so this makes people like us discuss about the doubts

If you have a force close with the miui gallery ! uncheck the installation from unknown resources and then try to open miui gallery ,because i ahd FC when restoring from titanium and Play store never opened always FC , after unchecking all worked fine i dont know why
So when i use titanium i have to lift the ban for unknown resource and i get the error " package installer has stopped unexpectedly " but it restores the application though
Can somebody tell me how good is the video playback, video playing on this rom?
Issues after instalation
After i instaled it, mi phone stoped detecting mi sim card, i had this problem with other ics ports to, none detected mi sim card, can u help me? Also with ics, mi wi-fi seems less powerfull than with froyo or gingerbread, it detects less network, what could it be?

Disable pin lock. They did something since build 3 which causes it to not detect it if you have a pin.

I have the same error, an when I looked in the forum for a solution, I read that this is a "problem" of ICS, that seems that he doesn't like the pin of the sim card
Without the pin lock it works perfectly.
