good day to all this is my 1st time to use this phone i bought this from a friend the unit is already cynogen mod 2.2 but i want to try the froyo version which is 2.2.1 because i encountered a lot of fc in my version
any sugestion ow to make start what file i need what thing 1st to do...
things to xda and to the person will guide me here
If you want to learn about installing roms read "Beginners GUIDE:Rooting a HTC Dream(T-Mobile G1) and Installing CYANOGENMOD 6 (FROYO)"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=727688
As you already have an old Cyanogen rom, your phone is already rooted, so you can skip the 1st part of the guide (you may want to read it anyway for a better understanding of what was already done on your device).
Once you select the rom you want to flash, you can post your questions on installing that rom in that rom's thread.
Happy flashing!

Usually NOT (changing your rom doesn't unroot your phone).... and this is the development section! Next time post in the question and answer section and we're all happy.

thanks for your kindness.....
You can install that rom, but you'll need to learn a little bit about android, bootloader and so. You'll have to boot to the recovery and flash your current system with that one. Make a nandroid backup first. On Nexus S forum you'll have guides about this

many thanks for your advise...., now i've aleady try several ROMs, but surely i have to learn about all the android things, really interesting!!
Because no one seems to do it I was forced to work by myself and I managed to upgrade the phone to Android 2.2.
I wrote detail article with direct link downloads for the ROM file and the flasher. They are direct downloads no ads or such.
I also have all Firmwares for all Alcatel phones, but they are about 11Gb so I'll upload them in the next few days.
the tutorial is little big, but I was trying to be more precise so everyone can understand me.
Thanks.

Thanks for the info, a guy was asking to me if he could update his phone to 2.2 and he will be pleased of hear: yes you can! =D
What about performance of 2.2 on this phone, is it good. Do you need OC? Is all working like on the original 2.1 rom?
Thanks again!

The performance is BETTER then the stock ROM because a lot of unnecessary apps provided by alcatel are deleted and left only the important one. I made this upgrade for mu sister's phone and I can say it is running with no problem. Everything works, GPS, WiFi, GPRS. All is normal.
I am happy because it is at least 2.2. Android 2.1 is prehistoric, there is even no Google Play store upgrade for it.
Need complete ROM files
Can someone upload the complete ROM and share the link? I want to make a similar ROM for Spice MI 270 based on MT6516. My phone has android 2.2 but does not support adb currently.
Please upload system.bin, boot.img, recovery.img and others if possible.
Thanks!
Holy Batman it's a very old thread I know!!
Would someone be kind enough to upload the tutorial and the files. I would be grateful...
Thank you.

Hi, I just bought Alcatel 890d a couple of weeks ago. It comes with Android 2.2 out of the box. Is it possible to upgrade it to the newer Android version? Also, could you please give me the TWRP/CWM img file for this phone that I can flash using Flashify? Please. I really need it so bad.

So, man, I'm trying to update my Razr HD to JB.
I am rooted on ICS, and plan on installing the JB service version I got from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095097
The thing is: as I haven't unlocked my bootloader, and would like to keep it that way, I've been trying to install the safestrap recovery I got from here: http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/downloads/safestrap/
But up till now, I've been receiving a FAILED message when installing the rom in the rom-slot-1.
Don't know where i'm going wrong. Any ideas? Or any other way I could install the ----- Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean - 98.21.6.XT925.Brasil.en.BR -----
Service Version?
Thanks!
not sure if voodoo root keeper will survive jb 4.1.2 , look into that , also I suggest to post here

good luck man,
Greetings to whoever is reading this!
I recently got a HTC HD2 phone with JellyBean 4.2 or 4.3 installed, I'm not sure. But I've been having memory problems with the phone. Whenever I install too many apps, the internal memory of the phone goes low and I can't install anything. I used Link2SD to transfer the apps to the SD card (and yes, I partioned it correctly I think) but I still get the memory low warning.
My question is: Is it possible to downgrade from JellyBean to Android 2.3 version?
I think I screwed up a little, because while having the JellyBean still installed, I installed something else over it trying to downgrade. But that's not causing any problems so far.
I'm quite a noob when it comes to android so please bear with me. Is it possible to delete everything that is installed on this phone, and start installing Android 2.3 from the beginning? If yes, then can you please tell me step-by-step how it is done, or if there is any guide that I missed, can you point me to it?
Thank you very much!

@classic20 - You should be able to retrograde to Gingerbread in the same manner you would upgrade the phone. Also, navigate to the HTC HD2 portion of XDA, you may have better luck if you do some digging there.

Thank you Sergeri. I am new to this forum so I didn't know the best place to post the question. Would you please refer me with a link to the HD2 sub-forum?

It's as easy as going to the home page of this forum, hitting CTRL+F, and punching in 'htc hd'.

Haha, I know how to search with the keyboard. When I said I am a noob, I meant on this forum and about Android in general, not the computers
Anyway, I wiped my phone with the help of a friend and installed Gingerbread 2.3 or something like that.
But, I would really like to thank you for taking the time to reply.
