Swype Themes...just noticed.... - HTC One S

Apparently I missed this hidden feature... but the latest Swype beta (released 10/21) has 6 different colored themes to choose from.
I didn't see it anywhere in this One-S forum... So for those who are as late as me in noticing this... I am sure you will be thrilled... check them out...
Go to Preferences --> themes.
If this is yesterday's news (and it is), then I am just posting to proclaim how ecstatic I am to have these --- especially after all the recent attempts to theme this KB had failed!

Funny you posted that because I just downloaded Swype Beta again after not having it for a while .... So thank you very much for the info peace

Yes, the new themes are great!
My personal favorite is Cloud. :victory:

Awesome
These widgets look great!!!! OMG I have been waiting for this, especially the inbox one.
Running SR2.5.2 Vanilla with LP.
Thanks+1
Time to rip some stuff out of the dump
CM6 RC3
Wow, this is great.
By the way, if anyone is using Launcher Pro, this widget resizes horizontally very well.
When resized vertically the contact picture gets larger so it takes up more room. The voicemail message is given only 3 lines, no matter how large you make it. I will attach screenshots.
Thanks for this!!!
Anyone know if this is intended to bring VOIP calling to Android devices? Also is there anyway to resize this widget so it takes up 1x4 instead of 1x3?
Oh my goodness I love your dock background!
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
The only way I know of to resize the widget would be with something like launcher pro plus or you can do it by default if you're running CyanogenMod

Can anyone tell me how to put this on my phone, currently using Chromatic 4.4 with voice search 2.0.1 and does this new google voice update include the latest google search bar, been having issues with current search bar not loading all the way and going back to home screen....Thank you in advance for all your help

By default he means with ADW Launcher. Cyanogen includes it in the rom but it is available for download. It is free in the market.
Thanks OP for posting the link. I saw this when it first came out on the G2 forum section but I couldn't get anyone to post at least a picture and I didn't want to go through all the trouble just to extract the new GV app(I'll let someone else do that). I just wish Google would put the voicemail feedback section in their mobile app that way i don't have to get on my computer to give feedback.
Awesome, thanks for the link. Loving the.widgets.

Anyone tried this with 2.1? Anyone with an Incredible in this forum even still on 2.1? ha
Thanks for the heads-up lou! Can't wait to see if any other new gapps fall out of that dump. BTW Widgets are great. Makes sending text with gvoice much more streamlined.

HTC Trace Keyboard (Swype) Update for Desire S?

http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-sensation-include-swype-htc-trace-keyboard
Check this out! HTC's own version of Swype?!
Would be cool if the older devices get this update! Won't require dual core for it, if thats htc's pathetic excuse again!
maybe?
oh it's crazy i think 。。for me。it never minds

As someone thats very recently learned to love the free (beta) swype application, I'm hoping that the htc v3.0 htc trace application gets ported to our device and soon

Hello, I've searched for swype and HTC Trace in the market, but I didn't find none of them. What is the exact name of the application to install, to have the swype active?

From memory when I installed swype you have to get it through your browser on your phone and download it from their site,though I'm sure someone will correct me if my memory is failing.

Thanks, but, is this something that overrides the default keyboard adding the swype function or is it a new one?
No it won't override, merely give you an alternate keyboard option. Its not obvious how to turn it on though so once installed, do the following;
In settings, go to 'languages & keyboard' and put a tick in the 'Swype' box.
Then in any text entry box, do a long press, and select 'Input Method' and choose Swype.
Nice Swype tip: It has a nice (hidden) cursor keyboard. Access it by Swyping from the bottom-left menu button, to the button to the right of it.

Some nice themed Swype keyboards here (although the cursor board is missing some keys)

Thanks.
Is there some keyboard that looks like the default one? (I mean the original one)
I've seen that these keyboards need to be flashed. Is there a way to come back to the stock one just in case I don't like the new one? I've seen there is some keyboard zip file here on xda, but I'm not sure of what is the stock one.
EDIT: for instance, I've found this thread. There is a so called "HTC_Keyboard_Without_Arrows"; I guess it is the stock one. Isn't it?

Did you see the update? I got most of those...the weather channel didn't stick for some reason though.
What I've been finding is that the theme chooser has a hard time with apks that have a capital letter in their name. For example that app is called com.weather.Weather.apk it throws an error about the capital W. Gotta look into it further to see how to get around that.
X,
You realize everytime you post in q&a it bumps your thread above my q&a ??? :laugh: :laugh:
Only kidding - but for real - more beautiful work from you, your hard work really, really pays off in the finished product, congrats, man. Enjoy the outing with your beautiful family !! Regards.

Do we need to wipe anything before flashing the update?
Sent from my SGH-i997 using xda app-developers app
All flashed. Thanks. Looks great. I was thinking, you said weather channel wasn't accepting the theme because of the capital w right. If you are all using a custom launcher couldn't you release the icon for download and we save it in the gallery and use nova settings to select it. Its not perfect, but its a work around till you perfect your method.

If this rom had a stock JB theme (pretty vibrant blue and all) it'd be an absolute no-brainer for moi.

Not exactly a theme question, but when connecting the infuse to my computer the external SD card doesn't show up. Is there a solution to this?
My only comment it, damn, this looks great man.. I love the color..
Home run brother!
Jellybean CM 9 Theme by Team Syndicate on the Play Store skins this rom back to JB default. Most perfect JB rom I've used for this phone now, by a long shot.

3.10.9 market

Download link for any1 who wants it,
There aren't any major changes. In fact, a cursory glance shows it as basically the same as the 4.2 Google apps version except that now you can delete items in your Wishist and you get a new screen when apps are installing. More than likely there are more behind-the-scenes changes as well.

[APP][FREE + NO ADS][4.0+ FOR SURE] We Have To Go Back, Kate!

3.1 BETA OUT NOW
This is my first app, so lots of *constructive* feedback would be nice.
It's nothing special (I did it on MIT AppInventor like the noob who knows no java that I am)
Ever leave somewhere and forget how to get back?
Problem = Solved.
Simply press the button and it will remember your "Island Location" -- for you Lost fans --which you can name.
The rest is pretty self explanatory.
Screenshots in attachments
CHANGELOG
// What's new in 3.1
-- Added 2 customizeable saved locations
-- Fixed buttons getting cut off
// What's new in 2.1
-- Settings bugs hopefully fixed -- I'm currently testing it
*Changng to Lost background will apply after app is closed and reopened
// What's new in 2.0
-- Settings -- Change the look of the main screen
MORE SETTINGS TO COME -- just a trial run right now
// Planned changes for next version
-- Whatever I can think of. Any suggestions?
P.S. If you want an older version just pm me I'll get it for you
Has anyone used this app? Really looking for some feedback...
I downloaded your app, and you have a good idea and it is functional, although obviously limited in design and some functionality due to the lack of raw java. I also think it would be nice to have some settings of some sort, if it's possible to add those with the program you used to create it

I'm working on adding settings now. I plan to make the background and fonts changeable because I know I can easily do that. If you have any other settings ideas I can give them a shot.
I'm also looking to make the app able to remember multiple locations.
Thanks for the feedback.
Great idea! You should add a list of remembered places so one can chose where to go back to.

Working on adding multiple locations now. Any preference on how that works? Like pick three to save? Remember last three saved?
Does your app do something that using Google Maps w/ starred locations doesn't do?
If I go somewhere and think I might be so unfamiliar with the area that I might not be able to locate my car, I star the location I've parked at then use that when I leave wherever I went to easily find my spot.
It kind of sounds like your app does this too, but as its only feature?

Probably not. The only difference I imagine is that the app does it just by pushing buttons. It actually uses Google maps for directions. Sorry if that's disappointing for you haha
3.1 is up. This mostly a bump post haha. Would love to get some feedback
