dsixda's Android Kitchen - Now for Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9305
Compatible with Windows (Cygwin) / Linux / Mac OS X
The following is a guide to assist you with creating your own Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9305(T) custom ROMs with the kitchen. This is NOT a guide to help you become Cyanogen or do fancy things with AOSP, but it may be your springboard to bigger things in the future.
Some of you already know about the Android Kitchen. It is a project I started on back in February 2010 to help newbies create their own custom ROMs and learn more about Android. As of the latest versions, you can now create your own Galaxy S3 I9305 ROMs with the kitchen.
I have already posted an equivalent thread for the International Galaxy SIII GT-I9300, which has similar steps as that for the I9305, so no need for redundancy. HOWEVER, please note that you can only use I9305 custom ROMs for your device, not I9300 custom ROMs. Simply go here for the guide:
CLICK HERE FOR KITCHEN INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR GALAXY SIII.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939300
Since the above link is for GT-I9300 discussion only, please post all GT-I9305 talk in the thread right here. Enjoy!

So god to see that you added support for I9305 .thanks dsixda.

Looking forward to getting started

So glad to find that this kitchen supports I9305 model.

Yeah, thanks a lot for your hard work. It runs like a charm )) the best tool to get a flashable zip ozt of a stock-rom ....

Huh - I've already used your kitchen from the original thread to process stock ROMs for the i9305. But I guess, this has more optimizations or compatability fixes. Thanks a bunch .

It's the same kitchen, I only posted the guide here, specific for your device

Yeah I've just figured that out. Nevermind. Always good to have straight-forward tutorials for everybody .

Hey guys,
I recently bought the S4 and I am trying to do deodex the stock rom and I am coming up with errors I have never seen before. Basically its not allowing me to Deodex 3 files in the framework folders.
Core.apk
Framework.apk
I forgot the other file as I am at work but its in the same folder.... It comes up with all these ramble errors that I personally dont understand as I am at work I cannot show you them... similar kind of error that comes up when you cannot decompile or compile an apk.
Is there an updated version of the kitchen I am using the same one I used to make my I9305 S3 rom. Pandoriam.

[GUIDE] dsixda's Android Kitchen - Now supports SGS2 Skyrocket (Windows/Linux/Mac)

dsixda's Android Kitchen - Now for Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket
Compatible with Windows (Cygwin) / Linux / Mac OS X
The following is a guide to assist you with creating your own Samsung Galaxy S2 Qualcomm MSM8660-based (non-Exynos) custom ROMs. This also applies to the following devices:
AT&T Skyrocket
T-Mobile SGH-T989
Telus Galaxy SII X
Rogers Galaxy SII LTE
Bell Galaxy SII HD LTE SGH-I757M
Galaxy Note SGH-I717
IMPORTANT: If you have the original Galaxy SII GT-I9100 or its variants such as the Galaxy Note SGH-N7000, then click here to follow this other thread instead.
As of version 0.181, you can now create your own Galaxy S2 Skyrocket ROMs with the kitchen.
I'd like to thank twopumpchump (who owns an AT&T Skyrocket) and -Mr. X- (Telus Galaxy S2 X) for helping me out, as well as for testing on their devices and providing feedback. I only have a Bell Galaxy S2 I9100 so their assistance was greatly appreciated!
[MAIN PAGE] [RELEASE NOTES] [FAQ - page 1] [FAQ - page 2]

PROCEDURE
This guide may be a bit basic right now but I will update it later if required.
First, you need a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket or equivalent with a ClockworkMod custom recovery.
Visit the Android Kitchen thread to download the kitchen. Then, follow the link to the FAQ which will show you how to install it on Windows, Linux or Mac OS X. Ensure you read the FAQ carefully.
IMPORTANT: To verify your variant of the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket works in the kitchen, open your device's /system/build.prop file and check the ro.product.device value. If the value doesn't exist under the kitchen's tools/samsung_files/sgs2x_variants/ folder then just create a blank file there with same file name as your device's ro.product.device value.
Put your base ROM(s) under the original_update folder. For the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, there is support for the following formats which can be placed in that folder (you can place multiple ROMs there):
Stock firmware:
system.img.ext4, tomb.img.ext4 (if it exists) and boot.img (and optionally: cache.img.ext4)
TAR file containing system.img.ext4 and boot.img (and optionally: cache.img.ext4) NOTE: If the TAR file name ends with "MD5", remove the MD5 part from the name.
ZIP file containing system.img.ext4 and boot.img (and optionally: cache.img.ext4)
Custom ROM:
ZIP file created only by the kitchen from the stock firmware (NOTE: The kitchen may NOT support custom ROMs created through other methods, due to potential file structure incompatibility issues)
Nandroid backup from ClockworkMod recovery
system.img, cache.img and boot.img
system.ext4.tar, cache.ext4.tar and boot.img
Here are some basic steps to creating your first ROM after you have your base of files under original_update (more options are available in the kitchen):
Start the kitchen with: ./menu
Create a working folder (by choosing your base ROM)
If you used a system.img.ext4 but then didn't include the cache.img.ext4, then you have the option to add a cache.img.ext4 later using the Extract CSC script in the Advanced menu's 'Plugins' section.
Root your ROM
Add Busybox
In the Advanced options menu: De-odex your ROM
Build ROM
The ROM is built into a ZIP file meant for flashing from the custom recovery menu. No Odin.
Some notes:
Just select the defaults whenever you are asked about something in the kitchen and are unsure whether to type 'y' or 'n'.
There are lots of questions answered in the FAQ in Posts 3 and 4 of the main Android Kitchen thread. So please go through that first if you have any issues.
For the benefit of other readers and to prevent confusion, please only discuss Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket or equivalent SGS2 LTE devices in this thread!
Most of all, have patience, take your time and enjoy!!

yeah, can't wait for those "roms"
Is there currently a way to develop on top of a vanilla android rom? I personally don't like touchwiz or the carrier branded roms whatsoever. New to the development for this device so i am not exactly sure what's available.

Well, creating a custom ROM with the kitchen is not really development. You would need to compile the AOSP source code or a Cyanogen source to develop a vanilla ROM. The kitchen could be used afterwards to add other things to it like deodexing, root etc.
I have had limited success using the kitchen with a Samsung Galaxy S2 Cyanogen ROM, it depends on how complex the updater-script is. It did work fine on other devices like the Nexus S.

Understood i read some things on the cyanogen forums stating that they dont have plans to send out a skyrocket rom. They said that the att gs 2 is so similar to the international and the skyroxket using different chips for the blazay blazay blazay highly unlikely to develop a from for the skyrocket.
If he ports of a cyanogen are flakey and cm has no plans to support the phone BC of little demand or whatever do you know of anybody trying to pursue compiling a source code for the gs2 sr? I have Dev experience and would like to see more options for rooms. Not to discount the work that has already been done atall. I just personally love that vanilla feel. I also like launched pro and works much better in that environment from my experience.

[Q] Custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus GT -S5570I?

Are there any Custom ROMs for Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus?
have Clockworkmod recovery
rooted the phone
Downloaded Odin for the phone, too.
Is Cyanogenmod Available?
No Cyanogenmod available at the moment.
You'd better wait or follow all the thread about Pop Plus dev.
I just flashed my friends phone with http://yagyagaire.blogspot.in/2012/03/cyanogenmod-72-rc57-for-gt-s5570.html
But don't these phones have different hardware composition.. I mean using Galaxy Pop roms on Galaxy Pop Plus has been known to cause bricking.

HI all,
im new to this forum as you can see by my first post. I also have Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus a.k.a. Galaxy Mini GT-S5570i and i also wanted to ask did someone try to put any custom rom on this device. I rooted and network unlocked my phone by using guides found on this forum and i have to say thank you to those who have puted them there. I searched forum for more about custom roms for this device and couldnt find anything so if someone can also direct me if i missed something or to section where i can read more about this device.
Thank you.
Same here. Any word from the Cyanogenmod developers about this...? Or is there a phone which runs the same hardware as this? Something tells me that someone said the Galaxy Y has the same type of hardware composition. Or has someone taken the risk and tried using other roms on this device?

I found thread where ppls talking that custom roms for galaxy y can go on this device but i would like that someone from devs confirm that. There must be some dev that has tested it or knows someone who has...

I found out the way to do this, follow the steps below.
1. Follow this link and you'll get the Jack Custom Deodexed ROM for Galaxy Pop Plus.
Custom ROM Deodexed
2. Extract this file and any of the 7 ROMs from the link above to your computer.
3. Replace the (/system/cameradata) and (/system/lib/hw) folders in the downloaded ROM by the folders from Jack's Custom ROM.
4. Now create another ZIP file containing the new files of your ROM.
5. Update now from SD card and enjoy.
6. Make sure you calibrate!
Any questions feel free to reply. I tried with Chobits Digitalis and works awesome.
Hit the thanks button if this helps.
P.S. The phone version still shows as GT-S5360. Couldn't fix that...
bricked phone. don't try anything till further notice.
So, what's the situation today? Still no roms?
solution..........
hey guys,I sow your post and I remembered a link to a custom rom "Repencis V3.5" for galaxy pop plus gt-s5570i

I personally use it with my pop plus phone,it works very good fine & fast.

[Q] Dual Rom Boot Feature for Galaxy Note

I searched the forum and didn't get the dual Boot feature for the Galaxy note .
We need to run two roms for one custom and one stock rom on galaxy note.
If there is any way please let me know as I am new to porting the software.
Thanks in advance .
Please publish the links if you have regarding how to port different mobile OS to Galaxy Note.
AFAIK there are only a few phones currently capable of dual-boot, such as the Meizu MX, but most phones, including our Note, are not capable. I think it would require a custom bootloader and such to allow for booting into a second OS.
However, you can run something like Ubuntu, and there are some links in the Note forum if this is what you are looking for.

Porting to Verizon Note II

Hey, I'd really like to start porting touchwiz based ROMs for the N7100 to the I605. The Verizon Android Development forum is scarce on ROMs compared to the international Android Development forum. I know a bit of Java, C++ and scripting, but I'd really love it if someone could teach me what I need to know to do this. I'll take the time to learn if someone will teach me.
Thank You in advance.

CleanROM is a ROM that is based on international and includes flashable options in the zip for whatever carrier that you have. Basically you could just note what software/libs/configuration files are in the "Verizon" section which will give you a roadmap as to what files need to be changed versus its international counterpart.

[Introduction]

Hey, i recently got this device(SM-N9007) so im just introducing myself around this sub-forum
You may have seen me recently around the Amlogic based Android TV forums aswell as the Galaxy S3 forum where i almost completely ported the S5 UI to the Galaxy S3(Revolutionary S5 ROM).
I look forward to making ROMs and kernels for this device and speaking/working with some of you!
Step 1.. lets drop the old samsung UI and get with the times!
Step 2.. Probably a kernel.
Step 3.. An easier alternative to root.
welcome to our device forum. I thank you for the interest you show to our device and I wish u good luck !
Hi, welcome. Can you make SystemUI for stock based roms? I am using Audax rom. I dont like pull down menu, quick setting menu. A cumtom theme will be good.
