Good Day,
Many of you already estatically await the come of Android 4.2 to the Galaxy Nexus. While some may be lol'ing about the attempts to port 4.2 to the Gnex, you all will like this. I present you the Android 4.2 Transformation Pack.
Note to mods: I know I already made a thread in the Galaxy Nexus forum, but we think we can use this in pretty much every Jellybean device.
I tested it on CM10. You will still need an AOSP- Based ROM (AOSP, CM, AOKP or just any other similar)
Supported devices:
Google Galaxy Nexus
Google Nexus
ASUS Nexus 7
Nexus One
As said, pretty much every device is compatible. Please post your device and if this works. It should work everywhere.

won't you add the 4.2 keyboard as well ?
It's there. Should have added it to the changelog
Tried flashing on LG Nitro HD running CM10 nightly, flashed completed in recovery but she i restarted it didn't change anything??

It should add apps. It should install a keyboard you need to enable. Your default launcher may be overlaying the Launcher2.

Running AOKP Jelly Bean Build 5 on my Verizon GS3, and it didn't seem to add anything. Flashed the zip in recovery, didn't do anything else. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks for this, though! Pretty awesome. I hope I can figure out what's going on.

now it works like a charm .. but photosphere seems still doesnt work on P990 CM10 as panorama on default camera are not yet working ..
Gmail, Photosphere, Clock and the keyboard are working great on my Google Nexus One.
Keyboard not working
Hello
Im flashed the file and did a reboot.
New gmail for example is working but the keyboard isn't. You guys got an idea? Im reading in other threats about replacing or deleting files in system/app but I don't know this will do the trick.
I have a Galaxy Nexus with AOKP Milestone 1 ROM
I apologize if this seems like a silly question, but after having googled for some time and not finding any kind of clear answer.
1)Will this work on any 4.1.2 Rom?
2)Will this work on the Nexus S?
Nothing happened bro
Flashed but no change

I just bought the student bundle got home and rooted my phone. I flashed and AOKP rom and a jellybean and the keyboard docking station would not work with either one. I went back to stock recovery and found the keyboard drivers and the keyboard worked. Is there anyway to fix it to where the keyboard would work on a custom rom ? I love my gadgets and like the various roms that are built.
I think the problem is proprietary drivers that not yet implemented to cm or aokp as source code for them not avaliable yet either wait till we get them or workaround appear as alternative drivers or multiboot with stock and cm or aokp

You can use custom, just not AOKP, AOSP, CM9/10, I'm on romswell for the very same reason

I was seriously searching for this! I just got it today and was trying to figure out why it wasn't working as I didn't try it on stock before i switched to cm10. So basically it doesn't work if you have cm10 installed?
It won't work on aosp/ aokp/cm9/10. Only stock based roms.

Try stock debloated rom or debloat it yourself via app as titanium backup but make a nandroid backup first
Sent from my GT-P5100 using xda app-developers app
I also bought the Student Bundle (a great deal) and did the same thing you did. Metallice's ROM mostly works with the keyboard (I think everything except the App Drawer key works) and you can get that here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681317
I ultimately rooted it and used ROM Toolbox to uninstall the bloatware. Unfortunately there is no overclocking kernel - there's a thread for a kernel for 4.0.3 but the developer sold the device and the kernel hasn't been updated yet. If anyone figures out how to get the dock working with custom ROMs, post it here!
Same ish happened to me today. I was all ready to type some lengthy email and was like "Wtf!" I thought maybe the KB had to be charged. After realizing that wasn't the case, is why I'm here. Just like everyone else, little peved because stock sucks! Lol

Which one do you use? Screenies look cool, but I think I flashed rc1 and didn't like it. No Google now or JB launcher look so I switched back. Plus the themes link is dead :/

Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.
Thread moved.
AOKP JB ROM now supports Student Edition Keytboards!
Get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841177
I have been using this now for a day or so, and it is an awesome ROM. Jelly Bean based.
The keyboard works for the most part, but for right now here is what works and what doesn't:
Internet - Works
Mail - Works
Lock Screen - Works
Volume keys - Works
Menu Key - Works
All numerical and letter keys - Works
Search key - Works
Home - Not Working
App key - Not Working
Brightness keys - Not Working
The devolper adds:
"I also sent this to codeworkx as well, so the CM10 folks should see the keyboard working soon."
Hey everyone,
forgive me if this does not belong here/has already been found,
but whilst rooting around in the apk of the android 4.2 launcher from the recent Nexus 4 system dump I found some alternate wallpapers hidden away that nobody seems to have found! They seem to have a strange aspect ratio so possibly they weren't actually meant for the Nexus 4 and that is why they can not be accessed directly once the launcher is installed.
A selection:

and the zip file:

Enjoy!

He was right, they were included in CM9 stock version ( atleast I saw them on Opensensation CM9 by Tamcore). I had 2 of these my wallpapers. On Opensensation when selecting wallpaper, you can choose between CynogenMod Wallpapers or just Wallpaper (which I believe were ICS stock). I don't remember if these exact ones came from stock Wallpaper or CynogenMod Wallpapers.
Thanks for posting anyways, since they do not appear in CM10.:good:

No such thing, as vanilla android is unaltered, i.e. the nexus devices.
I would say that cyanogen mod is probably as close as you'll get. Aokp is close too but has much more customization options.

There isn't one. Use cm10 and don't use the customization. Also you will not have the s3 features like motion controls, camera, etc.
You're best bet is to try a couple out and find what works for you.

I'm gonna work on building vanilla JB rom as soon as the semester ends......don't have enough time till then :\ Should be convenient timing as a lot of the leg-work is already complete
I've already started working on one, but its not looking very promising so far. Its really really difficult getting the build to cooperate, and then once I finally do get it to cooperate thenaybe it won't take too long to get some of the initial kinks ironed out so people can start testing. But at least if I cannot get the bugs worked out enough to post it for people to use there is someone else who will begin working on it shortly. So hopefully we will have a pure AOSP ROM soon, one way or another.

Omega ROM
Give Omega ROM a try, there is an optional to remove all SGS3 default bloatware that comes with it when you flash the ROM.
I am using it because this ROM is having all other SGS3 features like the motion control, stock camera, etc.:good:

If you are looking for AOSP JB (like you would find on a nexus phone/tablet), your best bet would be to flash Paranoid Android ROM. it is based on Google's source, and you don't have to use the PA Settings.
My Infuse is Stalking Beans
Since Android announced the newest version of their platform today I figured I get the ball rolling. I know our device is nearing its end of life, a question remains....
What are the chances we see the "L" version in ROM form on our phones? Since the Developer Preview SDK is being released as well as Nexus 5&7 getting it tomorrow.
Really, Lol?
Aosp based: without a doubt.
TW based: unlikely but not for hardware reasons.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Yes PA and the others will have "L" running as soon as possible. I just installed PA 4.4.4 and its awesome!
Yes I was just curious if a rom could be made from the SDK our if they needed source code which won't be available until later this year.

So I suppose that means we won't see a "L" ROM until it officially drops and we have source code available.
Atleast I can try it on my N7 today

Just to clarify, SDK is an acronym for "software development kit". The android L developer preview being released is not an SDK.

Flash in recovery
if flash does not work move apk to system/app AND move the lib file to system/lib
Personally I like the G3 keyboard way better.

Uhh.. no...
no one has an Android L ROM, there is no source code until fall. Developers can get a minimally functional preview image for Nexus 5 or 7 and when I say minimal I mean you can see the basic interface pieces, theme, google search and keyboard and so on..
You can see a good deal of what the theme will be for the next Android release, lots of white background and flat colors, Not a big fan. Seems very Appleish to me. There is a dark version too though.
You can also see this using the development platform virtual device emulator.

you'll have to define what you think "minimally functional" is because there's people running it, calling, texting, and installing/running apps, right now, for instance: http://www.reddit.com/r/Ingress/comments/296rdk/ingress_works_on_android_l/
now I know it's not finished, and I know it's more of a beta build... but it's very functional if you ask me
