How to change what page home button goes to - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This may sound ridiculous but I cannot figure out how to change what page home button goes to... I'm familiar with the Android system had the vibrant and s4g but I can't get it to go to my second pg instead of first

Hold the home button I think. I'm on Nova now so I cant remember exactly. Think that's it just hold it and you can select pages.. if its not hold home then try pressing the back button when on the home page.

If you're using the stock blur launcher, you can't change it. It will always be the far left home page

Hit the home button so it brings the Manage Pages. You'll see all of your home pages. Select the the page you want to be the default by long pressing it. When it "lifts", slide it all the way over to the left side. The default home page is all the way on the left. Hope this helps.

Yup, thought so.

I know I could do that but the way I want to arrange the pages makes it so the main page isn't next to the quick settings page if that makes any sense lol

Does it do something special that an app like screenshot doesn't?
Asking seriously. I'm curious.
Well just the fact that you can take a Screenshot by pressing the power button and home at the same time is pretty cool. If that app cam do that then I'll just get the app.

I use shootme with clearDroid. Works great for me.

I don't do screenshots that often, but the screenshot one does the trick. Push the button, gives you 5 seconds to get to the screen you want to cap... Done. There may be other options for doing an exact button combo, I haven't looked.
Like I said, I don't do them that often. Something tells me there's no shortage of apps that will fit the bill for ya, but if you do them a lot I guess I could see the appeal of the sense 3.0 deal you're talking about.
MIUI has that feature

I also use ShootMe but with LeeDrOiD. Download it from the market. You wont regret it
Screenshot has an option where if you keep the app running, you can shake your phone to take a screenshot... you don't even have to push buttons.
But be careful or you'll end up with a hundred screenshots.

Awesome, I can now uninstall Shootme and just use the built-in function on MIUI.
BTW, to use it just hold "Menu" and press "Volume Down"
Thanks for the tip

Full screen weather animation

Simple question, how do I disable the full screen weather animation after unlock? Can't see that setting in the weather ap menu.
Thanks

i think if you long hold the widget like you are going to trash it but drag it to edit you should be able to turn it off.

The only option there is to edit location.
I think there is some kind of bug here cause I haven't even chosen the weather animation for the lockscreen but sometimes I get that animation anyway.
Yeah, I'm definitely missing something here. I remember turning it on with my first handset, but with this one is can't find the setting. Weird.

Drag the clock to 'edit', select location and then you will be given the option to enable or disable full screen animation.

The weather app is set up to show you the weather once a day in the morning on your lockscreen. You can turn this off in the settings of the weather app.

Anybody????

Works fine for me. Using the stock browser, if you browse to a site and then scroll a bit to make the address bar and bottom menu appear, there should be an "Add to" button which allows you to add it to your home screen.
Are you sure your home screens aren't completely filled?
Works fine here too

chances are that they are clearing old stock for the new xda exec as they now have a new device, the upgarde is just an upgrade, even if they do carry on selling the 2s i dont think o2 have the brains to ship it with the new rom, they tend to leave customers to fend for themselves and if you know nothing about upgrading like us on here, you have no chance.

Wait... When I do it the shortcut will just save to any screen with space, not just the home screen. Obviously it will not create another panel to accomodate, however.

Remap keys?

What file contains the softkey mappings, and can it be changed without root?
System_usr_keylayout_generic.kl
And
No.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Thanks.
And,
crap.
So...just checking; I'm looking to swap the "recent apps" and "back" buttons, which are off-display keys, of course. Don't suppose that's in some other file that I can change without root...somehow?
And if I really can't change them, how are after-market keyboards possible?
Keyboards are software.
You're looking to map hardware.
You need root to do that.
There are very easy Play Store apps that (once you're rooted) make it easy (I.e ButtonRemapper)
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
But of course I can't do that now, given that I can't even RUU back to 1.85.
Man, I know I have short thumbs and all, but does no one else have trouble using the phone right-hand only?
Dude please: I despise the power button. It doesn't click right. I came from a S3 but left it because I hated the home button. Now I found this phone that I completely love, but I hate that button. What we need is a dev to get Sweep2Wake running like on the Tegra model

Yeah the power button could be more clicky. It is hard to press. What i did was flash cm9/10 and use volume wake. WAY better.

Button bindings

Does the Galaxy SIII (stock) have screen capture ability like the fassy and charge?? If so what are the button bindings, I remember home and back button together, but can't seem to get it to work.
Thanks to all that reply!

I think one is volume key and home (not sure). Easiest way when on a stock based ROM is to turn on the motion where you slide your hand from left to right across the screen to take a screen shot.
Sent from a strange blue box hurtling through time and space.
If your wanting a screen shot then it's the home + lock button. Hold them for like 3 seconds
