Are you using the correct fxz version.what version is your phone?? That fxz you're using is for AT&T version. For others go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
Btw also try with the latest drivers and rsd lite 6.0.grab the rsd from here https://www.box.com/shared/eoaqdb6ik4h6sjxfdh4x

Not sure, but it said USB in the error.. I'm guessing that's your problem somehow. Is it a stock Motorola cable?

If it is the original cable that came with the phone.
Try to do it on the back USB port and gives the same error.
Also, I'm not sure why it says Fastboot Edison S for the model in RSDLite for you - I think it should say MB865.. your phone has AT&T stamped on the bottom front of it, right?
Ok. Start fresh.
-Put the extracted fxz package at the root of your C:\ folder (for example - C:\InlineFlashing_Edison....)
-make sure you have the updated Moto drivers installed on your comp
-plug USB into back of computer (or a reliable port)
-boot phone into fastboot mode (vol. down & power button while off - or vol. up&down and power, then select)
-open RSDLite and hit the "..." button and choose the InlineFlashing...xml file inside that folder you extracted to C:\
-connect your phone to usb
-make sure your phone says OK to Program, and RSD recognizes your phone
-hit start
Otherwise I'm not sure - if you can, try a different computer or usb cable.. good luck

Hello everyone,
I attempted to upgrade my sisters Infuse the other day and all went well expect for a few things:
Phone is no longer recognized in download mode
Screen starts up with just a bunch of color screen lines; after this starts up normal and works fine
and Recovery screen looks like this: Attached file
I need help, I can't reset with odin, I can't install a rom from sd, tried counting the navigation arrow clicks but no go.
Any help?
Id like to add that my girlfriend's Infuse is recognized while in download mode but hers is brand new and is stock.
Same problem here
I am currently experiencing same problem.. I guess this is a flaws in samsung infuse.
no..you guys have no gb bootloaders
easiest way to clear this up is to first flash odin one of the gb leaks
or use the heimdall 1 clicks packages
follow op's
How are you getting to download mode? For me the only way odin ever recognized download mode was if i pulled the battery held volume up and down put battery back in then plugged usb in...or something like that, can't really remember its been a while...
Basically what im trying to say is odin would never detect download mode if i went there through extended power menu toggle

I can't flash with odin or the other program because the computer/program, don't connect to the phone when its in download mode. A com port never appears and I get a windows message stats unidentified device, click on message and it just shows my usb port showing unknown device.

Try a diff USB cable - download drivers from MOTOROLA website get this file - MotoHelper_2.1.32_Driver_5.4.0.exe
Okay here we go....
first thing let your xoom stuck on M logo.
Then hold power+volume up.
while power up press volume down to get firstboot.(make sure your PC and xoom know each other.)
You will see some text firstboot bla bla bla on left, top of screen.
Second thing open window cmd.exe
then type ...
cd /AndroidSDK/tools (where ever your adb.exe is located)
fastboot flash boot boot.img (the right boot image)
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
wait for reboot. You should see splash screen and you smile on your face.

Glad you got it going!
Had a similar problem where I had a boot loop and adb didn't recognise my device, but I could still put it into fastboot or recovery with power + vol down.
What I did was boot the Xoom so that it was stuck at the Moto logo, connected to the PC and queued up the fastboot command (fastboot flash boot boot.img) so the command window said "Waiting for device...", then reset the Xoom and manually put it into fastboot again at which point it picked up the queued command and started flashing.
i got a new phone and was going to give my old ns4g to my sister but i wanted to give it to her without all my crap on it.. anyways i accidently formatted EVERYTHING and now i dont know how to get a rom back on it. please help!

reinstall drivers and check that when u plug it in, the pc is seeing the nexus go to device manager and see if its recognized mand doesnt have an exclamation sign, if there is one, while plugged in, reinstall the drivers
to learn how to install drivers and getting the correct files: http://nexusshacks.com/nexus-s-root/how-to-root-nexus-s-or-nexus-s-4g-on-ics-or-gingerbread/
or try to flash stock via fastboot (maybe u will need to reinstall the drives, just check if its recognized under device manager):

Well I hope when u say "it doesn't do anything" that u weren't expecting something to pop up on the screen. If it mounts u can only tell by clicking.... My computer then drive "___" its probably drive f or g.
If it pops up then ur good. Add the ROM & gapps.
But worse case do what the previous post suggests.

Okay, so this is a new one to me, I installed TWRP Recovery after formatting System, Boot, Recovery, and Modem. I successfully reinstalled everything using a combo of fastboot and TWRP, but now my device is acting, well, weird. My system loads, but only after I open the bootloader and choose the "Normal Startup" option. Everytime I power down, it shuts off and loads into fastboot. I then need to open the bootloader and choose the above stated option to load my OS. What the heck, all I want to do is be able to UPDATE so I can participate in the JB Soak Test...has anyone come across this issue? Need some Dev Love right about now, I'm relatively new to this.

No. You need RSDLite. FXZ from Skrilax_CZ's thread here.
But I've seen in other threads you have issues with rsd. You should fix drivers issue first, ie. get your device recognized first. Remove all drivers, reinstall, use device manager to see if some drivers are missing... IIRC, windows needs to install different drivers for running system (mtp, mass storage mode...) and different for bootloader mode, it should notify you of the process happening.

Yeah, I just installed a driver cleaner. Then I disabled the auto driver updater that windows has. Next I'll reinstall Moto device Manager and RSD Lite. The one driver that does not install is the Moto Networking Interface, which I believe is the culprit here if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, went into My Computer right click Properties, then chose Environmental Variables, and entered a user variable to allow showing of unused and hidden device drivers. Cleared all the ones that were outdated or possible conflicts (usb and adb drivers from samsung, htc, etc.), then reinstalled RSD Lite 6.1.5 and Moto Device Manager. Booted into Android system, ADB loaded. USB Mass Storage loaded. Booted into AP fastboot, NOTHING. Booted into Tools and a bunch of drivers were not found. Strange, I thought Moto Device Manager would cover those, isn't that what it's for??? I somehow am not getting the needed drivers, probably the Motorola Networking Interface. Any ideas?

I really do not know. I'd try to reinstall drivers while in bootloader. But seems like a long shot.
Why did you format system, boot, recovery, modem?
Is your system functional? Try to connect it as MTP instead of mass storage (if not already).
On my XP machine for the additional BP Tools devices, I had to use the pre-release v5.9.1 drivers (developer version, 32bit only) that have been posted here:

I could easily be wrong but I doubt formatting recovery, modem, kernel and ramdisk (boot) is a wise thing to do if you're only trying to get clean stock. Simply re-flashing stock image should take care of everything.

(I followed the .xml script contained in the SBF and manually erased and flashed my entire system. Forgot the above referenced line though and my system was locked going to sticky-bit factory fastboot. There is a command line "moto-fastboot oem fb_mode_set" which I believe RSD uses to make the device reboot into fastboot after partitioning and such (.mbn?). Anyway, I'm still learning so cut me some slack. Everybody has to start somewhere, right?

This is very easy if you have an att phone. If not you will NEED to get the correct FXZ for you phone and download what I am about to link here, then put the correct FXZ for YOUR phone in the same location as in the download, and run the batch file, while your phone is in fastboot, as simple as that. If you do this RSDlite is not needed.
Link to the post with the scripts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36834775&postcount=108
Again as it is, that is ONLY for AT&T phone, and you MUST get the proper FXZ for your phone, if it is not an AT&T phone, and put the FXZ in the same directory as the rest of the files with the script.

1. Make sure your phone is fully charged (you can't fxz below 30%)
2. Install the correct driver and boot your phone to AP Fastboot
3. You don't have to extract the fxz file. just put them to C:/ as a whole
I recommend you read the instruction again
Obviously you have to get fastboot working. that should just be a drive issue, but you can try a new cable/ usb port/ computer. What rom did you have? you should be able to get into its recovery and flash again.

I was stuck in this same situation just last week, fastboot not being recognized and all. What operating systems do you have? I tried 4 (windows xp 32 and 64bit, windows 7 32bit and windows 8 64bit), and only xp would work a few times. So maybe you can try a friend's computer with xp or anything else. Which drivers are you using? because it worked for me with Motohelper, but not the latest drivers. Either way, keep trying different usb ports especially with the Motorola cable. Let me know if anything works, good luck!

Hmmmm.. what does the phone say when it is in fastboot mode and plugged in? Does it say "connect a usb cable" or whatever it is, or "USB connected- ready to program" (or whatever, you get the idea)

I see, that may be why it's so hard to get fastboot to work. :/ The A2 seems to only like working with the Motorola oem cable for many people, especially with AP fastboot. Well try what you can to keep the battery charged, and try what you can.

I would try using Linux. if you don't want to install it, you should just be able to use a live cd of ubuntu or something. it aught to work right off the bat, no drivers needed. you will ahve to use manual fastboot commands though, no fxz (so you will need to install moto-fastboot)
