Hi,
My son open his phone way too often (5000+ SMS each month) and now the button to open the screen is dead so the only way for him to open the screen is to remove the battery and put it back. Is there a ROM and/or kernel for the phone that would permit the screen to open by pressing the volume button? I know that on the S2 some ROM have that feature and you even have a patch to disable it.
Thanks.
Yes..you can..security-pattern-none

i simply turn off the wifi when im not going to be usung it for a while. it uses a lot of Push data delivery systems so thats why i think it would drain as quick as it does..
thats crazy! I'm having a similar problem, i turn on my screen and it seems to lose power faster than when i don't have it on!!!!
Whatever could my problem be!

My WIFI uses battery power, rather than the power of greyskull, to function.

Like I said.. simple solution, disable the wifi. Or change the apps to not Push or to pull for updates over longer time intervals so reduce the ti,e wifi needs to stay connected in the background. when I've just disabled wifi the battery drain is next to nothing.
EDIT: There is also the option to auto-disable wifi when the screen is off in the settings

Ok cool, if you want, let me know how it goes. There's other options as well. They just take more micromanagement/setup

the pull down bar disappears when using the internet on my phone. nothing is wrong with it thats just the way it is but i was wondering if there is any way to change it so the pull down bar stays on top all the time.
Okay understand that Iam running cm9 right now there is an option for fullscreen mode in the browsersettings under labs. Dont knowe if the sense browser has a similar option.

Your "back light notification" might be on. You can enable/disable it in NSTools.

If you want to get rid of the search bar you have to install another launcher. You can't disable it when using the stock launcher.
The notification light should indeed light up in white color when you get a message. You can install LightFlow from the Play Store to give different notifications different colours.
To add a new home screen just pick an app from the applauncher and place it on the last homescreen on the right. That should be an empty one and automatically creates a new screen.

On stock you can of course flash a custom kernel. That should be no problem.

Out of the box charging light doesn't work. If you use LightFlow now it should work. But it could be a bit wonky since it is not optimized for 4.4 yet, I guess.

Hi,
I get vibration and LED Light on notifications, but not screen wakeup. Is there a way to enable that?
Me to! I have no Idea.

I use that https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hu.viczian.notifications.free
can talk (optional) and can wake the screen to show you what notifications you have
I use Screen Notification from PlayStor! Works fine.

Do you think its better than glimpse?
I don't used Glypse! But Screen Notification works flawless.

I've tried them all including the combos of Nova and Good Lock and various other locks, Next e.g.. Then screen notifications.
I think I'll go back to CM Locker. It's gorgeous and it works. Wakes up for every notification I specified. I would gladly pay to get rid of the occasional ads but it's still the best for my past 3-4 phones in the past 5 yrs. I'll pay more if they just bring back fingerprint unlock.
