gmail version 4.1.2 help - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

anyone know how to compose an email with attachments from this version?

rotate phone and the option will be there as a paperclip on the right hand side of the screen just at the subject line

If you hit the menu button you can upload a pic/video. If you use a file manager (like ES file manager) then you can select any file and upload it. I just tested it and sent a apk to a buddy using attach picture.
If you are looking for 4.2 gmail you can find it HERE. There are also the inverted ones too.

Any photo hiding apps out there??

Or something to lock the current photo app?
Thanks.
I just saw two in the market...sexting vault was one I think. Can't remember the other.
PhotoVault works good. You can hide individual pics, they wont show up in your stock gallery. Have to sign in w/ a password in the app to see the blocked pics....
I recommend photovault "sextingvault" just sounds suspicious. Its the same app. But better name.

The Easy way to hide photos is to mount the sdcard to your computer or use Astro or EStrongs File Explorer and just move all the photos you want hidden to another folder on the sdcard and name the folder .Whatever
Just put a Period . in front of the folder name and the Gallery app will not look for photo's in that folder so it hides them.
All you have to do is navigate to the folder with Astro etc and then view the photos from there.
This is how i hide photo's as most people are not going to go using a file explorer to go find photo's

The absolute easiest and probably best gallery app available is quickpic. It has just what you are looking for.
You can also make any folder hidden by adding * before the folder name.

Audio Manager (Hide it pro). Its awesome! It hides pictures, apps, music, and it even locks any apps you want. Best part, is that the app disguises itself as a volume controller app. Check it out.

dropbox

How do I get my camera uploads able to be viewed in the gallery or all my other images stored on dropbox?
Use ES File Explorer, add your Dropbox as a network drive, then you can browse the folder with the ES Gallery app (Maybe also the stock gallery app, I haven't checked because I don't use it)

Ya but when you first run the setup utility, HTC tells you that you can auto upload cam images and view them in the gallery. They definitely don't expect everyone to do that.

So I see where you can click Albums -> DropBox and I get the API access request which I accept, but then Gallery force closes. ARGH
Oh, I didn't know about that feature. Although not much of a feature, since I get to exactly the same stage as you before it force closes.
Does this work for anyone?
BUMP...........
You can enable the automatic upload in dropbox' app settings.

That doesn't answer the question at all....
It works properly for me. The Dropbox app automatically uploads my camera shots and video onto their severs. The HTC Gallery app lets me select my Dropbox folders under the Albums drop down menu. Once selected, I can browse and view whatever.

Emojis?

I've seen a few apps in the Play Store (mostly just plugins for alternative SMS hosts like GoSMS) like Emoji Keyboard and Emoji Codec that I couldn't get to work. Then I attempted a method I found in the description of Emoji Keyboard's app information which involved replacing a file in system/fonts through root explorer. I know I did everything in the instructions but it didn't work for whatever reason.
I want to be able to send and receive emojis (at the very least, with someone using the same app as me) inter-Android and with iOS also if possible. Any possible app/method? I'm running CM10 8/16 build but will be updating to the 8/23 build that's coming.
And I'd prefer not to use What's App. Thanks in advance!

Open up native messaging app, hit menu and then settings. Scroll to bottom and there should be an option for "enable emojis"

It wasn't included in 8/16 CM10 but it's here now in 8/23 which is awesome BTW. Thank you. I was really looking for an app I could tell all the iPhone users and Droid users to get that would work for all of us (but not What's App). Anyway, thanks

Emojis that I send to iPhone 4/4S users go through. 3G and below can't see them for whatever reason
Likewise, emojis that I receive from iPhone 4/4S users show up on my Infuse

I think thats cause iphone and android made a universal emoji so that both can see it. I read an article about it a few months back when it was in the works..
Thanks making this post I had been using GO SMS just for emojis. My wife still has an iPhone.

My experience with CM10:
the only way to access emojis is through the messaging app. They can be sent through text messages by pressing the menu button and selecting “insert emojis" provided that you have emoji support enabled in messaging settings. (From my experience, only later builds of CM10 have emoji support. That's source code though and has nothing to do with our brilliant devs).
To get emojis into Facebook you need to use a copy-paste workaround.
1) Enter stock messaging app and go to a conversation.
2) Press the menu button
3) Select insert emojis
4) Select desired emojis
5) Press back button to return to the message.
6) Copy the emojis and paste them into Facebook
Most should work, some might not. It's hit or miss. Peace sign, thumbs up, hearts and many more are on the working list.

Just wish they would intergrate them more into other apps such as FB. That copy and paste method just takes up to much time. Olus i think they could revamp some of them as they are pretty stupid, maybe add the finger, We all know that we would like that one once in awhile. :good:

Couldn't agree more lol
I more recently flashed an emoji keyboard from the BaNkS GApps thread which you enable in input settings. So I use the selector notification every time I input text. Looks like this.

[Q] How to hide pictures in the CM10 gallery

I have tried the .nomedia approach (putting a .nomedia file in all the folders I want to exclude).
It works hiding all the existing pictures, but once you have new picture downloaded from browser or sent through whatsapp, it will still show up...
Kinda annoying.
Using quickpic atm but dont really like it...
help!!!
Download quick pic from the play store, from there you can hide albums or single pictures by holding down on them.

PDF as background for SNote

Has anybody successfully done this? I've got a multi page (17 pg) PDF that I'd like to get on there.
Will I have to do it page by page?

I don't see the problem - open SNote, open the menu (right upper corner), choose "import" / pdf, and thats it.
After the import you see the new note, you can open it and write on it as on a template. Problem is only that it is actually a regular SNote-file, NO TEMPLATE. So after modifiing it you need to save it named different!
