Swype 3.0 beta

Anyone else tried out the swype 3.0 beta yet? It's pretty sick! Pretty easy install.
Just backup swype.apk and swypetips.apk
Then select a different text input.
Delete swype apk's then reboot and follow their install steps.

Yeah I have put on a strap. Take off the back cover and to the right of the speaker you will see a little square with a thing sticking up in the middle and a little hole on the side of the phone. put the loop of the strap and over the little pin in the middle of that square and there you go. Put your cover back on and your good to go.

Do you backup the apks in titanium backup? I can't seem to find swypetips.apk.

Where is the download link? I did what was said I just replaced the swype apks and left them where they were restarted my phone and checked my swype version and its still on 2.1 or something.

you first have to register for the beta and it will send you an email. The email will contain a link for the installer download and a 5 digit code. Go ahead and download and install the installer but don't run yet.
Now to install swype.
First switch to another input method.
Second delete swype from app folder.
Next, reboot.
Now run the swype installer you downloaded and it will ask you to log in and the 5 digit code from the email
after installed just switch back to swype as your input method

Just the fact that I can do a single tap to see other word options when I mess up makes it miles ahead of the previous version. Using it right now in fact.

I think the SGS4G GB Rom has this installed already.

I'm really liking it also. It's far better than the current version on our phones...

Wow this is really amazing.. I wasnt too keen on swype before but the word suggestion feature on 3.0 is on point. Typing is closer to the gingerbread keyboard and swype is more accurate.. Bravo

notice how the title says "comeing soon..." where in the title does it say that its here? do you see movie previews while they are still filming them? i don't think so. he's just letting us know what he's working on. call it a teaser if you must. come on now though. seriously, doesn't raver always deliver some of, if not the best roms for our phone. give him time. i'm sure he post screenies sooner or later.

scrach that ripping out miui music completly
i appoligize if alot of my roms use some of the same effects it just takes alot of time to Gimp image these things so i have a set of my personal stock that i use saves me time just the way i used to do it it would take me days just to do icons alone......for stuff most people rip out anyways or change up.... i give u all a base its up to u what you do with it after...

Running sunRise theme ... wonder if there is a mod out there that i can update via recovery to change only the battery lightning bolt to percentage ?

You are in for a shock if you don't find people banging you for not using the themes thread or the qa thread for this question.

No worries. You will find many peoples ready to pounce when you do wrong. Some will do it lovingly, pointing you in the right direction....maybe even answering your question in the process. Most will publicly flog you and offer no help other than telling you you are wrong. It's just how it works around here.
My advice...don't be afraid to ask questions...just work on posting in the right forums. The q&a is a good place to start. Develop a thick skin. And lastly, no need to apologize for wanting help...just use the search function (which does not always find what you are looking for), look in the proper forums, and read read read.

ZEUS is a great ROM, you can view the themes thread,it may help.

Launcher should not be an issue. If you want one that's small and quick, use Zeam. I use Go Launcher Ex and have no lag issues.

This thread needs to be deleted... I see 4 Zeus threads on this forum and I have a [email protected] thread.... this is rediculous

Using SwiftKey X to type this. It might be faster if I could get used to it, but I do enjoy the Swype-like keyboards. This feels too much like cheating, which means it must be pretty good. Ok, I'm getting to good at it already,. Time to quit.

I noticed that Swype has some shady permissions such as call log monitoring and some other funky business. Anyways if you don't like Swype constantly knowing what you're up to them check this free app out.

Swype has had a nasty bug where it would appear tiny and when "fixed" by using the landscape fix, it would be tiny. This is normal sized after being "fixed"

It's the actual keyboard, no installer necessary. You might get a check saying will expire in two days, just ignore it. Another notification saying all up to date should appear after. If not don't worry it'll still work.

How do we get the new version to look how it should? All the screens I've seen show a white/light-grey (holo-light) keyboard, mine's still dark-grey/blue like the older versions.

Swype beta(with keyboard themes)!!!!

So I always wanted to change the keyboard color in stock ICS and was about to get into editing xmls and stuff when I came across this beta version of Swype.and man is it good.the speed is just amazing and the best part now I can customize it ie theming and stuff there are already some 6-7 themes included.here's a preview of the mercury theme(black).loving it!!!
If you want it just go here and register or login into a Swype account download the installer which will guide you through a few simple steps and then you'll have the latest most amazing Swype.

I think swype + hinglish dictionary is a dream come true for us.. i used to add so many words but then there was always this limit.. anyways.. another news is that Swiftkey is launching its swypelike Flow keyboard. You can register for a Beta.. http://www.swiftkey.net/flow/

Have you guys checked out Touchpal? Gives Swype an Swiftkey a run for their money.

Yeah have tried that the only problem i found in it was adding words to dictionary in Swype it's just one click that does the job while in flow you click once then a window pops up then click again to add the word.and no themes too i guess(didn't go that far so not sure).
