The last update that was released, you will get a failed update notification via OTA. However, with Kies, its successful, but of course you'll lose root, and all your T-Mobile bloatware is re-installed.
Lol I find it funny how right when we were about to make our own stable ics rom samsung finally decided to release it officially

They pay attention to us when we're working out our own ICS, but when we plead and beg here on the forums they ignore us. A**hol*s.!
Should I unroot and wait for the ota? Or will our amazing devs have one ready for cwm?

Only one person really needs to restore to stock, then grab the tar after Kies downloads and extracts the encrypted file, then post it.

Yeah if you search around theres a few tutorials on how to do it for Samsung devices. It's not as simple as dropping a new animation in if your Rom and kernel don't alrdy support it. But its a pretty easy mod.

Recently, i've just bought this O3D with clean unrooted froyo rom (2.2.2)
I really want to update it first to gingerbread (2.3.5)
But recently i have seen a lot ICS rom in here and.rarely have seen any guide to gingerbread.
What i need to know is, can i upgrade mine into ICS from froyo, or should i update it first to gingerbread?
And how to update it.
Thanks.

Search the forum and read.
In short, chose a v30 rom and download from here, then find in the forum the offline kdz installer.
just download the official lg tool from lg.com. you didnt need to flash kdz. download the tool, connect the phone install drivers and click on start update finished

Can anybody please save me the time and post a link for a fast root methods?

My wifi sucks and I can't watch root method videos online. .hook me up so I can roit my girls phone and stop listening to her whine about how lame her phone is compared to my Samsung galaxy s3 running wicked sensations ROM with new Christmas theme
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
bottom line, if she is on the latest ota there is no root method available unless the bootloader is unlocked which if not already unlocked on said ota, cant be unlocked.
She had never updated it..I don't know crap about her phone or Verizon do they automatically update?
