Okay, I rooted my TF101 B90 model and all was good. I installed rom manager and flashed its custom recovery and had that whole issue that the sd card wasn't read and such. After much frustration I finally tried Wheelie (Nvflash) and it keeps failing and now I have nothing on my tablet. I can get into APX mode and flashing the stock rom using many custom utilites always fails (Usually says something like command failure :go failure or could not load bootloader to device) I'm sure it's probably fixable, I just need someone to type it out for me (I'm pretty smart when it comes to Android but I'm honestly stumped right now) Or please redirect me to a post that could help, However I have read a lot of the posts about this and everyone is getting there's to work and I can't get mine. Thank you!!!

Hello All,
I tried to find the best place in the forum to put this thread, i hope this one is ok.
Three days ago i made a big mistake trying to root my ASUS TF103C, i have downloaded a wrong zip file with scripts for ZenFone5 and execute a .bat that destroy the tablet (totally my fault). i spent three days reading and trying everything, i read all the forums and tried lot of fastboot procedures and also EasyFlash with stock firmware "WW_epaduser9_2_1_27UpdateLauncher" but nothing. To make it worst (after reading a lot) i realize that i don't have recovery (power+volume down is not working) and i'm sure that my bootloader is locked (since i didn't unlocked) .... I don't know what else to do i'm sure it must be a way to flash a new firmware with fastboot, i mean, i don't want to loose the hope :crying: . At this point i really don't care which firmware , which android version i just want to revive the tablet.
I read this forum A LOT and i know you are experienced people with android and procedures like this.
PLEASE , can you help me ?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.
Hello Pr0sper,
i am quite a n00b too but i am suffering a similar error with my tf101 and was trying a lot too.
So just to make sure you did everything:
Are you able to connect your Tablet with your Pc? Is the PC recognising the connection with your Pc?
Is Cold-booting Linux available?
Can you start APX mode on Tablet?
Did you run ADB?
Regards
Bava
Hey all, so I'm a long time lurker and have rooted many of my devices over the years. As a precursor, I've been searching and trying many things with no luck. I inherited on old MZ600 Verizon Xoom that I'd like to make functional again but am having a terrible time! CWM 6.0.3.1 is installed but will only boot to the Cyanogenmod welcome sceen and stay there. One of the biggest barriers is that it doesn't recognize the external SD. I get an error any time I try to mount it. I'm having a terrible time trying to connect via ADB (I've tried with no luck for a long time). I would be absolutely ecstatic if there's anyone who knows how I can get this device functional again. Thank you so much in advance!!!
Does anyone have any ideas for how I can resolve this? Any help at all would really be appreciated!
Did you tried to enter on the Fastboot mode and then flashing another Recovery, like TWRP. Maybe flash the stock HC 3.0 images thas it's easy to found on the Internet.
So my aging TF300TG is so slow, that i was gonna discard it for new hardware. As a last ditch effort i searched for a solution and found this forum.
But the more i read about flashing, the more worried i became. That's why i could use some help.
I have read the Beginners Guide and i've unlocked the bootloader (says "Bootloader is Unlocked" on reboot) and i've confirmed ADB and fastboot are working, by using "fastboot devices"
The next step is flashing a recovery. This is where i got scared. Posts like this warn that flashing the wrong recovery is disastrous and will likely brink my device. Also i can't seem to find a recovery that was made for the TF300TG, and i don't know if a TF300T variant will work or not. So please help me locate the best recovery.
I've read about NvFlash Flatline. What is this and should i do this before flashing recovery ? how does this prevent me from ever getting bricked ?
Some INFO that might help you. Please ask if more is needed.
I plan on using KatKiss - KatshMallow
Bootloader says "WW_epad-10.6.2.11-20131213" A03
Tablet is a TF300TG with stock android version 4.2.1 Jelly Bean
Thank you for taking the time to read, and hopefully respond to this post. I really would prefer to get it right the first time.
Took the plunge and just tried stuff without knowing if it would work, but it did. I now have a TF300TG, working as a TF300T running marshmallow.
I flashed
Code:
twrp_tf300t_kang_2.8.7.2.img
using fastboot and then followed the install instructions in KatKiss - KatshMallow post and it all worked like a charm.
Was a bit worried when formatting /DATA took 30 mins, but besides that the tablet is very fast and i've had no problems at all.
Thanks for posting this. I have a TF300TG too but never really used the mobile data capability and as a device it just never has been that useful for me, seemed good at the time I bought it . I have been looking at other options of installing linux etc but all project I could find are incomplete and dead. I thought I might be resigned to getting another device, so I was very pleased to see what you had done and have followed your lead. I am very happy with the Katkiss 6.0 ROM, it performs much better that the old Jellybean system, and using the Microsoft office apps I have everything I need to get useful jobs done easily.
Good job Brian & the KATKISS team, much appreciated!
Edit: useless post
Glad everything worked
Ok, so there was a thread on here for this issue, but it has been dead for 5 years so I hope it's ok I open this new thread.
I have been given a Samsung Tab 2 GT-P5110 by a colleague of mine. At some point in time he managed to corrupt the firmware to get the black screen of death 'firmware has encountered a problem.......'. This will not have been from flashing ROMs or attempting to root the device (he's an elderly guy, who recently asked me for help resetting his Google passwords, so rooting is well beyond his expertise). I first thought this won't be an issue, I'll hook it up to Odin, flash a recovery, stick it in download mode and then flash a new ROM...... However this failed, Odin confirming the process was unsuccessful. I understand this may be because the corruption is seated deeper than just the level of flashing a new ROM and have read flashing a new kernel may go deep enough to make progress, however, I have only ever used Odin for flashing ROMs so this is all new to me.
I would be very appreciative if someone was able to point me in the right direction, I have found some kernels to download which I think would be compatible, but I'm a little foggy on the steps I should take. Alternatively, someone may know another route to go down, I am also not afraid to open this little guy up and do some DIY surgery if needs be, after all I didn't buy the thing so I have nothing to lose.
Any suggestions would be great and if you want some more info please feel free to ask.
Thanks in advance.

flash a custom recovery, and install this, https://builds.unlegacy-android.org/aosp-4.4/espresso/ua_espresso-4.4.4-20171105172717.zip
Thanks for the reply. I have attempted to flash a recovery, however every one I've tried fails and tells me 'NAND write failed'. I tried the TWRP recovery and philztouch. You don't have a link to a recovery you think might work? I'm pretty sure I've been using recoveries that should work, but you never know.
Hi all, a few months ago i had a perfectly running rooted TF101 with stock asus firmware. It has CWM recovery v6.0.1.3 and i had the CWM app installed.
somewhere along the timeline i decided it was a good idea to backup the whole thing using the CWM app just in case anything funny happens. Now don't ask me how or why it went the way it did, but the CWM app seemingly performed its backup, there was a disclaimer warning somewhere about possibly losing root access, to which i think i said "yes", the device rebooted and my entire image was gone - only left with CWM recovery mode.
I have been trying to reflash it with stock recovery image, but the SD card won't mount. I am also unsure whether i still have root access or not.
in terms of connectivity, all i was able to get back was ADB access, which i was able to search xda and find threads such as these to try and fake an sdcard then reflash
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911228
I've tried katkiss image and stock image but everytime i get a status 7 error or an error 21

https://www.**********.com/fix-status-7-error-while-installing-ota-update-or-roms/
I'm not exactly an ADB crackhead and I'm not able to get past it so i've searched some more and found on xda again threads on using EasyFlasher, I've followed the instructions but can't get the APX drivers installed on windows 10.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
basically, at this stage i've read many articles, many posts, none have worked because links are outdated or instructions are outdated and mostly i'd rather stop trying all i am finding without really understanding before i brick this device for good out of ignorance.
sure it's old but it was functioning properly and was being used actively by my kids. if i can get it back to life, that'd be nice.
has someone experienced (and fixed) something similar or feel can contribute to unbricking my device?
Thanks guys.
I'm a noob myself, but I managed to get the APX driver installed on Win 10 (just now) by following the directions at how to geek dot com. I used "Option two: Use an Advanced Boot Option."
Good luck!
