I am S-ON, im not sure if the kernel i am flashing is sense or aosp, but after looking around the forums i think the problem may be because of the boot.img

Flashing a firmware is not like flashing a Rom. While Rom is flashed via recovery and can be any zip file, fw is flashed via hboot nd it should be a file PG58IMG.zip in the root of your sd card.
I did not understand the 'correctness' part. Make sure the md5 is correct? That they match?

AFAIK if you have 3.32 it's not a must to move up to 3.33. Its mainly a radio update which you can manually do yourself, if you wish, and it comes with a new hboot 1.29 (which is still locked, but should not bother most users)
So If you're on 3.32 Roms would play nicely with it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
So I don't need firmware 3.33 to run arhd 6.7.0 and vipers1.0.1?so basically people ate only updating to 3.33 firmware is to change there radio, rils?I just don't understand the reason why some people are updating to firemware 3.33. Thanks!!!
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats Audio using xda app-developers app
You dont have to (arhd 6.7.0 and venom 1.01 will work w/o 3.33) but its recommended.

No you don't flash like a Rom, remember I told you how to do it in a pm? Just follow those instructions please. If you get confused take a look at the instructions again. Or check the pm answer I've given. Hope this helps!

hallo,
i've got a htc sensation with s-off, locked, hboot 1.27 and installed a custom rom ARHD 6.8, following the steps on ARHD.
now my problem is (like many others) that my wifi and bt won't turn on.
i search in windows for boot.img and and i found boot.img (of course) and faux en sebastian.
Some say that the wifi (and maybe) BT error is due to kernel mismatch.
What can i do to fix this problem?

It's not due to a kernel mismatch as such. It's due to the kernel modules not matching the version of the kernel. What you need to do is flash a custom kernel from recovery

Thanks for the suggestion, can i flash Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 | ICS | Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) + Sense UI 3.6 + Beats Audio?
If yes, do i need to flash radio?
Nope dont need to flash radio
And i advice you to install 4ext Recovery (the Best)
Put the rom into your SD card and Just flash and a new kernel if you want
Don't forget to do à full wipe !!!
Then if you see a big battery drain it's normal the battery needs some cycles (full charge all the Night->use the phone until percentage is about 10-15% Then recharge it to 100% and it should be OK

As the title,I want to know if I will brick my device if I flash gingerbread Rom on an ics Rom.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
It is just impossible mate. (You will likely stuck at boot screen or will have boot loops...) If you already have ICS rom installed on your device, that means you have ICS firmware. If you would like to install a gingerbread rom you must flash the appropriate gingerbread firmware first. To do that your device must be S-OFF.

Yes. If you do a system wipe ( I usually do a factory reset + system wipe) then you can flash a 4.2.1 Rom.

All recent ICS and JB roms are working on 3.32 and 3.33 firmware. Install 4EXT recovery and use that as many roms require so.

I believe you can flash a custom kernel.
The Kernel though would have to match the MIUI base.
There are MIUI Roms that have a sense base and some that are AOSP.
Yeah, mine is sense based but I got error while trying to flash a kernel... But I found a secure boot zip or something like that and it worked... Thx anyway!
